Alex is their token asian character. She won't be going anywhere for very long. There are so, so many problems with this episode. It wasn't as bad as some of TWD's judgement lapses but it was bad enough.

So far the only characters I even remotely feel any kind of interest in are Alex, Strand and Daniel. And even those are wearing thin. Most of them are just so unlikable and unbearable I couldn't care if they died.

And what is with Nick being their drug expert? He's Junkie Man, capable of finding drugs anywhere near him. He must have been injected with some kind of super serum that gave him the powers to sniff out drugs.

I don't like Chris. I feel like he is the character most likely to get someone killed.

Nick slipping on the edge of that sand ditch is Lori crashing her car level stupid. Come on writers you can create a better perilous zombie situation than that.

Didn't he mention he wanted to go to San Fransisco, but then found out it was demolished, so I guess now they're heading south?

Nope. He said San Diego. Alcatraz is in San Francisco. And I doubt that the military would have bothered fire bombing the prison/tourist attraction.

I realized the actress who played Alex in this episode was Lori Lee in Neighbors

Agreed! WTF man! I really want to like this show but it has so many WTF moments that it's crazy!

There have been some much better and more detailed critical (some harshly) of how FTWD has been rehashing TWD's storylines and characters redundantly. If you never watched TWD then they would be new but who is going to watch FTWD that isn't already familar with TWD?

This spinoff keeps just barely interesting me enough to continue watching but not enough to prevent roll my eyes moments every few minutes at the latest screw up or repetitive mistake we've already seen a dozen times before on both TWD and the first season of FTWD.

Damn, Strands. Oh well, it is his damn "can't fix it himself" boat. So his way or the highway. Should have thrown Zach overboard and take in Alex.

I guess the TWD crew have been over doing it on their gut suits. Bloody shirt and face is enough according to Nick.

Yeah, but is that really Strands's boat or did he steal it?

One moment that annoyed me was while everyone (from Daniel's scavenging group and Alex) was escaping from the horde of walkers on the beach and onto the motor boat. Nick and Alicia paused for an emotional sibling moment to hug. Seriously they couldn't wait to do that on the Abigail or on the motor boat to it? It felt out of place in the middle of a suspenseful chase scene.

Really good episode. After a sluggish start every episode has been getting better and better. Next week looks like it'll be great, too.

Too bad about Alex. I'm positive she'll be coming back, though, hopefully soon. I was really touched by her concern for Jake. If Strand dies next week I will only be depressed that I won't get to see more of his and Madison's hatemance.

They have a boat with a water purification system. They have guns. They have fishing equipment. And they're on the Pacific Coast.

Why don't they go to Alcatraz Island? Stone walls. Steel gates. Guard towers. Plenty of beds. Fruit trees. Lots of space to do farming. Surrounded by water which provides (a) protection, and (b) fish. It's pretty much the PERFECT place to wait out the Zombie Apocalypse.

Others probably have the same idea, and Strand strongly believes that he's got a similar place in Mexico to go to that no one knows about.

I'd rather they had Nick stumble on walker guts/blood camouflage by accident i.e. walker guts/blood covers him from killing a walker after a struggle. Doesn't make sense how he came up with that on his own. Unless he observed the dead and how they react to their scent.

I thought that was what had happened. AMC's stupid video player kept shuddering on me so it was hard to tell what was happening, but it looked to me as though he fought those zombies in the pit, got covered in blood, ran up to help the others and realized that zombies were just walking past him.

That one really irritated me too, along with their failure to run immediately to the raft once they saw a wall of walkers headed their way.

The walkers showing up on the top of the dune was also funny. I was waiting to see them come running down the dunes like you see in every movie where a host of troops are lined up on the edge ready to attack or save whoever is under siege at the bottom.

Apocalypse rules. Nick and Chris must now fight for Ofelia. Though, I'm sure Chris will settle for Alica...

I knew when they jumped the boat it was those people the sister was talking to. :( Where's Rick when you need him? :p

So, why did Nick wash up on shore? His Zombie Adventure isn't very exciting.

EDIT: And thanks for the image of zombie baby in womb.

Just think of Aliens, lol. :p

Nice to get a little backstory on Strand.

Didn't make him any more likable, lol. :p

damn, this show making me have to even consider "should I kill a crazy pregnant lady in a zombie apocalypse?"

Hardwick speculating on Talking Dead that Madison's maiden name could be "Grimes" gave me the same kind of feeling.

Has this show improved? I havent watched it at all this season bc the last didnt impress

And this is why Strands is right to be paraniod. No more saving people from this point on. At least til they've been thoroughly vetted.

Strands sent him out there to pick up his buddy, Luis. Who turned out to be a Godsend for the crew with his deadly precision aim. Now they got a machine gun too. Ho! Ho! Ho!

I wouldn't say your missing anything. If you have a rainy weekend over the summer with nothing better to do you might consider binge watching it.

They have provided enough story to fill out two episodes with moderate amounts of filler in the course of four episodes. And for all the progress they have made it still feels like they are paddling in circles.

We get just enough back story from Strand to make him interesting and a lot of eye-rolling stupidity from Alicia's big mouth nearly getting everyone killed.

There was no point in the second episode having been there at all and the third only barely made any progress where it cut that short when Strand dumped Glenn Alex for however long this story meanders.

Not. At. All! Geez! You'd think they would at least get a grip and try to listen to a degree to the fans. I'm watching this show now just to watch it. The characters are not likable at all.
