I've been meaning to ask this since we entered 2014, what are 5 things you'd like to see happen this year in WWE and 5 matches?

1. A proper Daniel Bryan title reign
2. Dean Ambrose allowed to go to that darker place
3. Summer Rae singles push
4. Debuts for various NXT talent
5. Ryback to prove his worth or be released

1. CM Punk vs Sheamus
2. Daniel Bryan vs Brock Lesnar
3. Dean Ambrose vs Seth Rollins
4. Paige vs AJ Lee
5. Antonio Cesaro vs John Cena

You must really want Okada's D.I.D. hold, don't you?

Well, they added The Rainmaker in so it wouldn't be too far off. :cwink::oldrazz:

Maybe they WILL add that feature. I'll see when I get to go to the playtest later on....

Nice job to the commentary for covering up Young's trip up.

Nice counter into the submission.

Edit misread Nolan's post.

Hard to say about Bryan/Punk. I don't want either to turn heel. I was going to say a Best vs Best angle, but that's what Jericho vs Punk was. Maybe Punk starts questioning whether he's still the best. It's been a year since he's been champion. Bryan has grown popular. Maybe a jealousy angle, but it would have to be played well to avoid turning Punk heel.

Cesaro vs Cena I'd want to see from a match standpoint. I'd love for Cesaro to be the one Cena elevates but he's in the tag team ranks right now, and I don't know how he could breakaway into a singles' run. He'd require a gimmick change.

I'd like to see it where the Authority try to play them against each other, appealing to Punk's ego about not being thew best anymore, while feeding Bryan's paranoia that Punk isn't supporting him, he's simply waiting for an opening to take his title as he;'s jealous. It might be too complex for WWE and would require some subtly that pro wrestling is not often known for, but if done right it could be great IMO.

That's a good point, transitioning Cesaro into the next phase is going to be a challenge without a doubt, I can see a face turn being tried but I wonder how long he can eat off the Big-swing, he'll need to get more over through promos and character work.

I'm very interested to see what they do with Ambrose as a singles star, and good call on Sunmer Rae, she has a bit of everything and would make a great heelk Champ for the division post-AJ.

Punk vs Sheamus is another good call, I think they've only had one match and if Sheamus gets a character refresh then it could be great.

I find it funny that people use the merchandise argument when explaining why WWE is reluctant to go all the way with Bryan. Jeff Hardy was selling the most merchandise and was more over than Cena, ditto for Punk. Yet, we saw that didn't really matter.

Not to mention, Isn't Bryan currently one of WWE's top Merch sellers at the moment?

I still can't believe that they tried to see if Big Show could get over by ripping off Daniel Bryan's "Yes Chants" back in November.

Talk about literally trying to steal someone else's thunder. Heck, the only time I remember AJ Lee getting a big reaction from the WWE Universe was when she did the "Yes Chants" after having knocked CM Punk and Bryan into each other and onto a table.

With that said, I still appreciate Sargeant Slaughter's willingness to speak up about the unfair treatment he feels Bryan and Ziggler are getting. If they had more people like him and less Yes men in the back then WWE would be better off.

Slaughter works there but I'm not sure if others in the back are as bold as him in this regard.

When I read his statement, it made me think back to the unfair treatment Jericho would get with the way he'd be booked. You could tell that WWE took him for granted in his first run and he was in the right to leave until they started listening to him more during his return in 2008.

For that type Bryan/Punk feud, they would have to examine Michaels/Jericho in 2008 and how they handled the promos and story. Jericho exposed Michaels' flaws and dark history, but Michaels never turned. As well as Hogan/Savage. I didn't see that feud, but I recently watched the 25 Best Feuds in Wrestling History, and CM Punk spoke about that feud, how the MegaPowers exploded, and how Savage's paranoia seemed justified. Neither Savage or Hogan turned heel, right? They maintained their face status.

The good thing about Cesaro is that the man is an amazing spectacle who's able to pull off some amazing feats. Along with the Big Swing, the superplex from the apron to inside the ring, and the Swiss Death. But he hasn't even done anything as surprising as what he did in the ending of his 2 out of 3 falls match against Sami Zayn on NXT. When he's allowed to show those feats on RAW, he'll get even more over.

Back in the day, 15 to 20 years ago, if you did that type of stuff, it would be Wrestler's Court in the locker room with Taker residing as judge. Creative is lucky this isn't the old days. Maybe the locker room should bring that tradition back. Cena and Punk would be the ideal judges to handle it.

During those 6-Man/Handicap Matches, Cesaro and Cena showed signs of some pretty good chemistry so I would definitely be up for a singles program between the two down the line.

I think you're right about Bryan/Punk needing to look to the Michaels/Jericho 2008 feud. The only difference is that you probably shouldn't turn Punk like Jericho did throughout their feud. Punk is good enough that it can be done subtly, but I'd prefer if they didn't have him do outright heelish things like Jericho in that feud. Unless they're truly confident in Bryan as a top face, I'm not sure it's smart to turn Punk again (even if he is infinitely more entertaining as a bad guy).

There were like 10 of them so I couldn't find a specific one. :hehe:

I can't wait for them to have a main-event feud.

Don't know if this has been posted before but Bray Wyatt offered a kayfabe explanation as to what happened to Husky Harris (his previous gimmick) and it's creepy as hell :woot:
