šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø Fell Out of a Coconut Tree, It's Kamalot: The Kamala Harris Thread

US News
Didn’t he put up a video against Trump a while back? He’s got the personality but I couldn’t see him doing that.
Oh he was Pro-Biden last election, but chose not to endorse either in this one due to cancel culture. I can see the GOP trying to court a celebrity candidate.

I agree, but this is the hand we've been dealt. I'm confident she can win. I really don't think America wants trump back as much as they make it seem. The Dems need to rally behind her and she needs to put in work in the swing states as much as she can.
I'm definitely not counting any eggs before they hatch, but the impression I've gotten for months now is that a dead dog could be competitive against either Trump or Biden. The Dems being the first to tell voters "we heard you and we made adjustments" is the smart play on paper.

And while the timing is not perfect, having this happen a week after the RNC, the assassination attempt, and the Vance VP pick? No one is talking about Trump anymore and the MAGA meltdowns in the past 24 hours show that they do not know what to do campaigning against anyone other than Biden.

I've even heard rumblings that the Vance choice is now being second-guessed in MAGA circles. It's too late to back out, but that was a choice to cater to the base as opposed to persuading swing voters.

Good sign for sure. It will be very interesting in the aftermath when Trump is gone to see what the plan is. Does anyone else have the idiotic reality TV personality on the same level to entertain the MAGAs at rallies for hours on end.
I've wondered this for years. Everyone around him is either too much of a freakshow to really persuade a mass audience, or too boring to get the crazies excited.

I can’t see him making the full heel turn in real life just for money. It would be super-disappointing if it happened.

Yup. And call me too optimistic, but I'm more confident that she can win this than I was Biden winning in 2020. And he still won! All of the reasons why people wouldn't want Kamala as president are miniscule in comparison to all the bad things a second Trump term would bring to the table.
They need to push this messaging by focusing on Project 2025 (which thankfully she already has), but I already see "independents" call it fear mongering by liberal media and that Trump wouldn't be able to enact any of it.

Yep. Also Trump & co were expecting to fight Biden who with his decline they regarded as an easy target that they knew how to attack. This has affected confidence and will require a big change in strategy which they could easily get wrong.

I did say it was unlikely. :funny: I do think a celebrity candidate isn't out of the realm of possibility. Again thank God Elon Musk can't run for office.

Oh and for people looking forward to Kamala and her running mate coming after Trump and Vance on the debate stage, they're both refusing to debate.

Speaking of Pete, why isn't he a media correspondent or something for the Administration. PR seems to be his natural element.
Given that infrastructure was a top priority for the Biden administration and the Dems (basically) controlled both houses, Sec of Transportation was a plum job. Super high profile domestic cabinet position without the headaches of Homeland Security and so forth.

Yep, the timing of all this to come after the assassination attempt, the RNC and the VP pick works out quite well. This is now the big story that overshadows those and they can’t react in kind as Trump is a cult leader. They need the news focus back but it’s hard to get something as big as a positive presidential candidate change.

Yeah, most of them will bore the MAGAs at rallies after a while. It’s hard for them to recreate the Trump …magic sauce :funny:

I would rather had someone more experience for that spot. I was going to say Press Secretary, but I don't know if he'd be able to handle that.

Project 2025 is a very scary prospect but it getting leaked was a big plus. Even Trump knew it was something that shouldn’t be said aloud and needed to be hidden away till after an election win.

Kamala should focus on the parts of project 2025 that catch people's attention especially in swing states. There's a lot in there.

I can see your point, but he might well be the smartest person in the administration. Dude has got to be a quick study. Had he been elected president, I'm sure he would have done just fine in acclimating himself.

This is probably giving the media too much credit that this was their attempt to mitigate the assassination attempt so Trump wouldn't benefit from it.

I think the saner members of the GOP wouldn't enact all of it, but attempt half measures. But since this is Trump... Who by the way gave up on the wall apparently.

Yup. And Trump is refusing to debate Kamala which makes him look scared. Because he knows he can't.

Trump's insults have grown weak and tired. Hes low on ammunition.

But it's going to be hard for Trump to play up his grazed ear for sympathy.

Or for Vance to brag about his military service.
Can his seat be appointed by the Governor or is it a special election?

It's scary even that it was written up and had intent behind it. Obviously they want to purge staff at all organisations they can till they are filled with loyalists, and would eventually try the same with the party so there would be no one to stand in the way. It's lucky Trump has such a low attention span and mainly wants material for rallies rather than anything that involves work.

Is there much chance he actually avoids debating her altogether? You can tell he doesn't feel safe taking the risk like he did in the past.

Reagan governed with them in his ear, too. We all saw how that went.
