So it looks like things got delayed a bit.

All indications are they started in January - he never said principal photography, so it's debatable whether or not filming got delayed.

My Entertainment World has it down for starting in March - I've used them to find casting calls for stuff like Iron Man, so it's kosher info.

Gotcha, thanks for the clarification - so principal in April, exteriors started in March. Oh well, about a month behind......

That would seem right.

I figured the Jan-March was just rough estimates anyway and factoring in having to arrange schedules so everyone is available, it's not surprising some things got changed around.

Correct but principal photography was already in full swing when they did their thing in Chitown.

The WB announced today that they green lighted a Justice League Of America movie. Maybe this is why The Dark Knight got pushed back until April. The WB has been planning this & both sequels will shoot back to back.

Justice League has only just started development so it'll be a longtime before we get to see that movie become a reality.It still isn't even clear which characters they can or can't use.

Sequels won't shoot back to back for Batman, Nolan is taking on the film adaption of The Prisoner when this wraps

Nolan also has been working on a adaptation of The Exec comics with his brother Jonah for a couple years now. It's possible that he'll do that first.

Anyway, according to USA Today, looks like it's late April when filming kicks off:

Eckhart, a Spirit Award actor nominee for Thank You For Smoking, begins shooting Dark Knight in London in late April

Another Great Day in London

The last 24 hours have been amazing - each day just gets better!

After recovering from Oxford, a group of us went out to falafel at our favorite little place, Maoz. We then headed over to one of the flat's to play drinkinggames. Four of us (Jessica, Jeff, JD, and me) decided to go to a club after that. The club was called G-A-Y, enough said! It was wild - Whitney Houston blasting, gay guys dancing on the stage, just wild! The best part, though, was the three people I went out with. It was the first time I have been with people in this group and just felt completely "me." We had such a great time together! We ended up staying out until 3:30, just to come home and talk until 5. These are the same people I went to Avenue Q with and I just really like them. It's nice to have found a little group I can feel at home in within the USC people.

Today, I got up (it was difficult!) and met my dad's client for lunch. It was great to see/meet her, just to talk to another American and have a new contact in London. She works in the entertainment industry so it was fun to talk about all of that too. She is here working on the new Batman movie and invited me to come to some of the shooting if I can go in May.

I was then going to go on my hotel crawl to go to all of the four- and five-star hotels to talk to the event planners. I didn't think my plan all the way through, though, as it's Sunday and the planners don't work on Sunday. So I'll have to go back during the week. I was in the area of Regent's Park so I just casually strolled through the park, watching people play tennis and little ducks swim in the lakes. It was beautiful today with hardly anything blooming, so in the real Spring with all of the flowers there - it's going to be magnificent.

I then took the tube to Covent Garden to walk through Covent Garden Market, watch the street performers, and get the infamous Ben's Cookies (so yummy!). I didn't know how to walk home but I wanted to test my self and see if I could figure it out. I did it with zero mistakes!!! I was so proud!!! So I went through Soho and made my way back to the flat.

Now I'm going to take a nap before waking up at 1 a.m. to watch the Oscars..

In late april to early summer, it's going to be London, and then in mid to late summer in Chicago. I'm thinking that Baltimore and Hong Kong will be done via second unit.

This one's client is working on it. Pre-production, intitial photography maybe, I doubt if principal photography. Anyway, i agree with nepenthes. Just get it made.
I hate the fixation with filming and release dates. Release dates get announced before directors/actors are signed, scripts get rushed, you end up with X3. Who wants that?

I think they start at Leavesden Studios where the production is based but the rest sounds right.Now all we need is some confirmation.t:

Memo to Tom: Dont do any superhero movies & dont do Watchmen.
I may be in the minority that didnt like this graphic novel.
Maybe you can get my grandma into Motion Pictures Retirement?
She's been in the waiting list for a year and they only let you in ASAP if
you know someone BIG in Hollywood.

Other Batman sites are petitioning for Katie to return. They're so angry about the recast. They feel if Mad Money is a short shoot then Katie can still make do for TDK. I feel this campaign is too late.
Katie is looking drop dead gorgeous though.
