Anyone else that it's possible, that they're filming The Dark Knight and it's untitled sequel all together?

I mean, it's been confirmed that people have seen Two-Face make up. It's been psuedo confirmed that Hall is playing The Riddler.

Would it be a long shot, to say the third film is Two-Face, The Joker, and The Riddler, and they're shooting most of that now too?

There have been a lot of castings of semi-stars in undefined roles, and I could see one of these "random" castings to end up be Selina Kyle. I mean, they've done this before, and it proves cost and time efficient.

So what do you guys think?

it's Possible.

But it seem that sequels and threquels that are filmed at the same time just don't measure up like those that take some time off inbetween filming.

I wouldn't put is past them to do it . . . but I think some kind of announcement would have been made or at least leaked . . . plus the budget would pry been announced . . . . also, I don't think Nolan had enough time to plan for 2 whole films . . . he went right into Dark Knight after he finished the Prestige . . . just don't think it's going to pan out that way . . .

to be honest......

this crossed my mind before.

Not to mention they're filming all the way thru till mid/end-September.

Big productions usually take 2-3 months tops.

May = check
June = check
July = currently in check
August = to be checked
Sept = to be checked

Add in they're "too busy" for SDCC.

Ya gotta admit.....something may be rotten in the state of Denmark...err..Gotham

That's 5 months of filming, I don't even think LOTR took that long to film one movie.

Did ya'll forget BB took a long while to film as well?

I concur that this crossed my mind as well.
The age of Caine alone would make me think about it if I were the producers.

Not happenning... sorry folks... hold in your second crappings till 2011

I've definitely thought about that myself. I thought someone even implied that might happen a long time ago...when they just talking about the possible sequel to BB.

Sure seems like an awful lot of stuff is going down for one film. Heck, at this rate they may have to pull a KILL BILL and be forced to turn it into 2 films. ;)

Oh Caine'll be okay. He's in pretty good shape for his age, and his mum passed on when she was 90 and she drank and smoked until the day she died. I figure he'll be around for at least another Bat-film.

well, while a long schedule is shifty there one thing i just remembered.

As a student of film they teach us about scheduling from experience. What I remember now is that night shooting takes longer because it wears on peoples energy.

That could be a reason why, I mean.....it IS batman.

I don't think Nolan would do this back to back filming.

Batman Begins (2005)
The Prestige (2006)
The Dark Knight (2008)
The Prisoner (2009 or 2010??)
Batman 3 (2011)

It´s possible but I hope they don´t do that cause movies like Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest and At World's End which were shot back to back weren´t that great, also The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions. It´s ok if they film a few scenes but it´s better to have them focus on just one film at a time

I wouldn't go by filming time as an indicator of whether they are doing both simultaneously. BB took 6 months of filming and other production and location heavy movies have taken just as long if not more months to film.

However, if they are filming 2 films the best indicator of that is the 2 face rumors.

Lord of the Rings took 18 months to film total. That's 6 months for each film.

BB shot from February to September, if my memory serves, so I kinda doubt they're filming Batman 2 and 3 in a smaller window than they shot Batman 1.

I really REALLY doubt that they're doing an unannounced sequel. If they shoot anything for a third film right now, it's sure to be background plates. It would truly suck if they shot some truly momentous action scene, and have all the set spies taking pictures and posting them on the board, only to find out that we we're duped and won't be seeing that stuff until 2011. I'm not even sure if WB would allow Nolan to shoot footage for an unannounced sequel...

It's just the 5x increase in Chicago scenes. I'd prefer they go back and refilm Holmes' part, as a bonus they can get rid of "other kids won't beweeve me" boy

That would be awesome if they were filming the 2 together, cause that means we would wait about a year for Batman 3, rather than 3 years.

'Other kids won't beweeve me?'
'What do I care? I'm the goddamn Batman. Have you been weaned yet?'
Goddamnit it it's slow. The lounge is dead also.
They're not filming 2 films back-to-back, BTW.

As much as I'd love that to be true, I highly doubt it.

Batman Begins didn't make enough money to do something like Lord of the Rings. It would be a dummy move, it's smart to film back to back movies only with huge franchises, this ain't one of them.

Apart from LOTR, when has this been a smart move? BTTF 3 and The Matrix Revolutions were both weak, and I haven't even bothered with AWE after the reviews and feedback I got.
