Films that make you go "Meh..."

Inception
Avatar
Twilight franchise
X-Men First Class
Midnight in Paris
Blade
All the Star Wars movies
All the Indiana Jones movies

I wonder which of those i'll get slated for the most :p

Easy.
For "All the Star Wars movies" only your geek card should be removed.
"All the Indiana Jones movies" is the cherry on the cake :)

Twilight I just flat out hate the the concept.

Star Wars, used to be a fan but now ... meh!
Dusk til Dawn
Kill Bill
The Hangover
Any Fast and Furious movie.

No!

I firmly deserve my geek card, you can ask anyone!

Look, I like Star Wars. I even had a Star Wars marathon with a friend of mine on my birthday two years ago.

Granted I fell asleep... :p

But the point is, I do like them... They just don't get me 'geeking out' like Superman or any comic book hero does :(

Indiana Jones is kind of the same. Worth a watch, maybe even worth not changing the channel when a repeat comes on tv... But I'll prob never buy them.

that one.:cwink:

*hides in a corner*:D

Sucker Punch was a big meh. Everyone seemed to fall into love it or hate it territory, but I thought it was distinctly average. I suppose I understand why the reactions were so extreme, but I thought was too innocuous and really just sort of boring to get worked up over either way.

Sucker Punch was just a string of high-end music videos. Pretty and pointless really.

The first two Pirates of the Caribbean movies. They both start out strong but after a while just kind of get monotonous. (The third one was just bad from start to finish.)

Most of the Harry Potter films... they're not bad but don't really capture the spirit of the books, IMO.

Blade 2
Source Code
A History of Violence
Cowboys & Aliens
Battle: Los Angeles
The Orphanage
Fracture
Jurassic Park

ET?!

Let the Right One In and most of the films that netflix streams.

Twilight
Batman Begins (TDK on the other hand is great)
Terminator Salvation
American Gangster
Assassination of Jesse James
Avatar

Are ones that come to mind. Then there is also The Godfather trilogy.... now I haven't seen any of them but I have a 'meh' attitude towards them in the sense that, as great as their suppose to be, I have no desire what so ever to want to watch them...

I think the problem with The Godfather is that it's SO old.

When it first came out, it was a shocking expose of the seedy world of The Mob.

Unfortunately kids today (I say shaking my cane) have been desensitized to violence and let's face it, the mob isn't what it used to be. In addition, movies are paced a lot differently today that they were in the 70's. You don't see a lot of epic historic crime dramas in cinema anymore. Gotta go to cable for the good stuff now.

Thank God, I thought I was the only one who didn't think Let the Right One In was all it was cracked up to be.
I like it, but it's not really as good as some people claim. I prefer Let Me In by a healthy margin. (10/10 to 8/10)

For me:
Avatar
The Dark Knight
Cloverfield
Capt America
Inception
Xmen: First Class
The Hangover
Ratatouille

Titanic .... a big MEH!

Jack!>Rose!>Jack!>Rose!>Jack!>Rose!

After them spending 20 minutes running around in the bowels of a sinking ship and getting shot at, I was like, "would this ***** sink already?!"

Then they finally get her on a lifeboat and she jumps out!? "you go, I go" !? Oh for Christ's sake!

It get's a little better when you figure the story was entirely about Abie Cornish the entire time and this baby doll persona was a fabricated by product of her sexualized trauma and a device to escape.

For me anyways.

X-Men First Class
Green Lantern(nowhere near as bad as people said but not that good either)
Twilight 2 and 3 (HATED the first one)
The Godfather
Napoleon Dynamite
Predators
A-Team
Anchorman
Watchmen
Suckerpunch
Kill Bill Vol 2

thats all I can think of for now, mostly movies that are recommended but I didn't get the same experience as they did.

Take Me Home Tonight

I was one of the few people who actually saw this in theaters. It was one of, if not the, most mediocre movies I've ever seen. Most movies that are just OK have some good points and some bad points, but Take Me Home Tonight is inoffensively mediocre in all respects. It's story is 100% formula. The jokes aren't particularly funny, but they aren't really unfunny either. The actors are competent, but not much else. The soundtrack is kind of novel, but nothing special. It is the epitome of "meh."
