Films that make you go "Meh..."

Super 8 - I thought it was ok but once it was over I kinda forgot about it a day or 2 later, it just didnt sit with me and make me want to own it.

Captain America - pretty good but there really isnt much to write home about it. Its definitely one of marvels more light hearted affairs, not really long lasting like Ironman 1 was.

Wolfman - Nothing really going on, I kinda expected a hardcore wolf man movie and it just felt off as a whole, like a bunch of directors came in and all took turns directing each scene. It didnt offer anything new to the wolf genre.

Jurassic park 3 - Boy this just stunk, I gave it a chance and as the movie went on I kept thinking of how it didnt feel like jurassic park at all. The cast was all wrong and not even a john hammond cameo for crying out loud. I pretty much forgot about it 20 minutes after I was out of the theater.

Come to think of it most of joe johnstons movie in general are "meh"

Planet of the apes (2003) - Just Meh in general is the only way to describe this crap fest. The sets looked fake and even looked low scale too, never once did I feel like the ape city was bigger then a block. Plus every actor sucked including marky mark.

I never got around to seeing JP3 in theaters but AMC was running the movie 4 nights in a row I figured I might as well check it out after all these years of not seeing it and yeah without Spielberg's touch it just feels like an ordinary dinosaur movie.

I liked the Pterodactly cages, but I too found it meh. It seemed so narrow in scope compared to the other 2.

I can see that, I really only liked x-men 1-2 and first class, spiderman 1 and 2 and ironman when I looked back. I Do like the more darker take that batman offers though with the more adult feel.

Lost world was definitely meh, I always felt that the last part with the T-rex felt like another movie tacked on and where the heck did vince Vaughn's character go? He completely dissappeared. The only good thing about the lost world over JP3 was we got a healthy dose of T-rex carnage. I always wanted them to explore the island more and lead it to the rest of the world learning of the dinosaurs.

I'm pretty much the converse of that. All the Spidey films, all the X-Men films and others reall never amounted more to me than filler. They occupied time & space when there wasn't anything else to grab on to whilst I waited for something better to come along. Thankfully, Marvel Studios obliged me for my patience. Now I look back at those pre-Marvel movies and get nothing but a pfft. I own many on DVD and still haven't popped one in to watch them in many years.

I think Lost World to me is beyond just a meh. It's awful. Easily Spielberg's worst movie. JP3 is indeed meh to me. But then so is JP1, IMO. It was the Avatar of it's day. The main reason for even making the movie was just to show off spiffy next SFX technology. That was the only thing that was truly exceptional about it. The rest was just so-so(acting, story, etc.).

For me the The Mission: Impossible trilogy I finally watched the 3rd one the other week, which had so much hype around it and with it being an Abrams movie I thought it would be good. And it was decent, but I forgot about it 30 seconds later, like I did with the other movies, its why i'm waiting on reviews for the fourth movie before going to see it.

It's one thing to dislike my favorite movies but to react to them with a "meh" is a freakin outrage!

I'd say pretty much all the(not already horrible) Star Wars & Star Trek movies are to me as well. Even the best of them never rang my bell. Maybe I just find outer-space films uninteresting.

If you thought he was bad in that, you should see Dark Water.

People who piss and moan about Hugh Jackman's Wolverine should just try and imagine how much worse it would have been had that guy gotten the role.

LOL, epic burn. I totally agree. It wasn't bad, but for a movie that hinged so much on the "WHAT DID THEY SEE? WHAT DID THEY CATCH ON THEIR CAMERA?" premise, the actual reveal was soooooo predictable. The characters and the actors were pretty good, but the movie was very forgettable, IMO.

And the alien looked like the product of a one-night stand between the Cloverfield monster and one of Michael Bay's Transformers.

first marvel did produce the ones I mentioned, granted it was a co production but still produced. Ironman 1 and on have been there own "Independent productions". I see what your saying and I can even admit that having the ones you listed above serve only as commercials for one giant movie can back fire in a sense but lets face it the avengers is making money next may barring some huge collapse in interest.

Its been well documented how much marvel has tampered with there films since ironman 1, favreau went on about how much freedom he had with ironman 1 and once marvel made an S load of cash they dug there claws in leading to more notable depatures in there films like norton and terrence stamp and even favreau himself after part 2. I dont like chracters being changed first and foremost I just think it hurts the film and how people see a character they like. I also firmly believe marvel is cheap as hell when it comes to paying stars outside of downey jr.
