Horror Final Destination Reboot | WB/New Line

It was already tracking extremely well. Good chance it runs away with it.

Late 90s/early 2000s critics can go straight to hell for doing the first one dirty like that.

Yeah, so weird seeing it that low. Critics sensibilities on horror has definitely changed in the 25 years since.

I was going to see it tonight, but weather is making me stay in.

This was absolutely nuts and easily my favorite FD film since FD2. The opening scene was pretty EPIC and one of the best in this franchise in sometime and thank god they didn't spoil all the good kills in the trailers.

That hospital sequence was crazy and the ending actually caught me off guard. Also, hopefully they keep these directors around to do more installments in this franchise too.

This is going to make all the money at the BO and it definitely deserves it IMO.

Critics Consensus
Adding some surprising emotional layers onto the ghoulish bones of Final Destination's mythology, Bloodlines ingeniously executes grisly set pieces with precision and turns impending doom into outrageous fun.

This was easily my favorite Final Destination film. It's such a refreshing take on the franchise with its focus on characters and even a little bit of emotion, but it never loses sight of what made the franchise so popular in the first place: the outrageous kills. People were gasping and laughing throughout the film, such a fun experience with a crowd. This was very much the Saw X of this franchise, a hyperfocused elevation that laughs in the face of all these limp IP resurrections we're so accustomed to. I'd love another one of these.

Wow, count me as shocked that this is not only going to be a big hit but is also good. I only ever saw the first one of these movies and the only things I remember about it are Stifler getting his head split in half and Ali Larter playing a character named Clear Rivers (LOL). I had no idea this is the SIXTH movie in this franchise! Damn, I guess people really like convoluted chain reaction death sequences.

I might actually go watch this. It definitely wasn't in my bingo card this year.

Watched it. Enjoyed it. When this gets a sequel.....where do you go from here though? Unless we reboot or explore a brand new line they could create.....

Things I question and just wonder

    • Why the hell did the grandma have death for a yard? It was just inviting death if she stepped outside. Even inside wasnt safe. As we drive to her doomsday house we see trees cut down around it which makes sense but then we pull up to its Jurassic Park gates and.....you just know things are going to end bad there.

    • I dont remember if they talk about it in the previous films (im tempted to do a rewatch now) but I would like to explore why "life" gives these people premonitions, allowing them the possibility of skirting death.

    • They did a GREAT JOB with all the family. Good character development for just about everyone sans the cousin daughter.

    • Great job making the previous films connect to this one by way of the grandmother being the "OG". Though I would've loved some call outs to Clear who made it so far. I wish we could retcon her death but....I know it doesnt do much.

    • Bludworth returning was very nice and a good way to end the characters journey for the audience. Esp with Tony Todds passing (RIP).
