I'm lazy, and I never held any affection for the series. The bit of the first ep. I saw turned me off completely and I never watched again. Not to say that it isnt good, but I dont have much of an incentive, aside from hearing other people talk about how great it is.

You disgust me.

Tell me; was the bit of the first episode you saw actually the first episode of the series, or was it the first one they aired on Fox?

Also, was it the very beginning that you saw? The beginning of that turned me off, too, and I already had to have my arm twisted to watch it in the first place. By the end of the pilot, I was fully infected by 'Firefly' fever. Expose yourself for a prolonged period of time and you, too, shall know the glory that is 'Firefly' and then spread it to others. Now go watch it, God damn you!!

he gotsa point. if you're willing to watch a full ep, it's totally worth it.

I think it was the first ep. on Fox.It was boring and there were too many characters.

I'll get to see it eventually,so you don't have to worry about failing to infect me with your disease.:o

My little Hype heart beats only for you.

Speaking of which..where is my 'invisible' friend?

Originally you werent going to have much to do with the main plot, but I changed things up so I end up getting less screen time this ep.:(

To smell Bison's pit and live, I must be some sort of super-being! Not sure I wouldn't be better off dead. :(

Pretty sure I wasn't around on your birthday... happy belated though... *hugs and kisses*

So you probably just saw the first episode aired. FOX didn't like the pilot, so they aired it waaay out of sequence, and put on the second episode first. I could see how that would be confusing.

Boring?? If it's "The Train Job" that you saw, you should be ashamed of yourself! That's a damn good episode, in my not-at-all-humble opinion.

Five main differences between 'Firefly' and 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer':
1. Quite a bit less hand-to-hand fight scenes or fight scenes in general.
2. A hell of a lot less mushy, agonizingly trite "unattainable love" angst, and the few times it does happen, it passes very quickly.
3. The show is mostly about committed grown-ups, not confused children (although there are a few of those).
4. The dialogue, while still full of Whedonisms, is very different, as it's a mixture of antiquated, futuristic and occasionally Chinese language.
5. Obviously, it's a sci-fi Western, not a horror series.

Watch, and be grateful, dammit.

A damn good movie. Dark, but still funny and a few good fight scenes. Watch it, and watch the series if you haven't.

I understand that its different from Buffy.I'm just not into westerns.Maybe I'll watch the movie first.

try to see 'firefly' first. 'serenity' will make much more sense that way, plus it's basically just the series finally fox never let 'firefly' have, so seeing it afterwards is like watching the series in sequence.

ill still see Serenity, but the characters dont interest me half as much as Buffy/Angel characters. i pretty much had to force myself to watch Firefy, only bc i love Whedon

I was never that big of a 'Buffy' fan, truthfully. 'Firefly' just held my interest more (too bad it didn't last long :().
