its going to be Chris Pratt, isn't it?
I’d love a new Flash Gordon movie but, ugh, Disney’s not going to go ahead with this when they have Star Wars and Guardians.
Don't see why not? Just because they have the other two doesn't mean they can't milk Flash Gordon as well. He and his name were synonymous with sci-fi. They could have another hit franchise on their hands. Why not take advantage of that?.

Who owns Buck Rogers though? Is it Universal? I'd love to see a modern version of that.

Hold on, no, it was Logan's Run. My mistake.
Frank Miller was attached to direct Buck Rogers like a decade ago. He was going to make it in the style of Sin City. Then The Spirit happened.
I don't see how you make Flash Gordon work in 2019, especially without people complaining about it.
Which bit? Ming the Merciless?
Wasn’t there a show on Syfy that was supposed to be a dark grounded reboot?

I might have a vague recollection of that now that you mention it, but don't really remember it at all.
Ming the Merciless, Flash himself, the female characters, etc.
Also what style do you choose? Do you make it light, campy and fun? Do you make it super serious? Do you do it like Guardians? But if it's like Guardians or Thor: Ragnarok, how do you pull that off without it being called a ripoff? Do you play it straight? How do you make it work so it's profitable?
I think someone else made a good point. The Flash Gordon movies have already sort of been done and the material has been mined by the likes of Guardians and Thor: Ragnarok for contemporary audiences.
What does Flash Gordon even have going for it at this point other than an old brand name that kids and young people today couldn't even give two ****s about?
