Flashpoint - DC Animated.

Glad FLASH is getting his movie.
Just wish it had been a "FLASH OF TWO WORLDS" from Flash #123.
Why do they only adapt stories that have been created in the past 20-25 years?

Because it's easier for younger kids to get their grubby hands on a issue that was printed several million times as opposed to one that was printed a couple thousand.

That's slowly changing with Comixology, though. Thankfully.

Is this what DC is relegated to??? Instead of creating new stories, they simply regurgitate their own printed stories?? How lazy is that??

Death in the Family

Doom

Batman Year One

Public Enemies

Last Frontier

Superman Doomsday

All Star Superman

And now this??? Flashpoint??

Come on DC......they are better than this! They can't get any of their stable of characters to the silver screen except Superman and Batman. At least take the animated stuff to new levels with some fresh stories! If you read the books , you already know how the DVD ends! :down

The JL and JLU series were excellent!!! Original story lines, great character developments.....and now Young Justice is on par with that!!

Can they at least give us the same creativity with these DVD movies???

I might be the only one who's thought about this.....but I think it needs to be said.

It's getting tired.

Thats the point of these DVD's... animated adaptations of some of DC's most popular stories/graphic novels.

Sucks that they are so focused on Batman/Superman/Justice League, but they are just responding to sales.

Want original stories?

Watch Young Justice: Invasion, Green Lantern: TAS and the DC Nation shorts.

But it doesn't have to be the point. If you can't make "real" movies, make good "original" animated ones.....

Again....we all know how there stories end.

And I do watch those shows......

Um, most people don't even want original "real" superhero movies.

They want adaptations of pre-existing comics brought to life.

Generally.

Agreed & not only that, at least the characters are getting exposure on tv or home video.

In Shazam's defense, at least he's not like a 55yo like Czar is.

That I find a little sad. :o

180 + million international box office world-wide for Avengers says you're wrong.

People want good live action movies. I don't even know how you can say that with a straight face.

Thus, if DC can't get that going, they should make the best original animated stuff possible.

Um, that's not what I was talking about at all, genius.

wait did you just use a big budget movie's opening gross as proof of something.....i have a feeling that hard core Avengers fans are gonna get as annoying as TDK fans

I don't think he's a hardcore Avengers fan.

He's just naturally annoying.

So what do you mean?

I am happy that they are adapting original stories for the feature length animation projects. I really, really want to see an animated No Man's Land or Night of the Owls adaptation.

No, that's not what I said. Nor did I say that original superhero films couldn't do well at the box office.

What I DID say was that, when making superhero films, fans often want as direct an adaptation as possible. They generally want to see specific comic stories translated onto the screen as closely as possible instead of original stories that just happen to utilize comic book characters.

You make me want to perform mass sterilzations on the male populace purely so that I can go to sleep knowing that I will never again have to encounter someone with your intellectual persuasions.

LOL!! Your avatar really fits you!! :woot:

Hey thats pretty cool. It was a good story. However, I guess they will have to cut some plotlines to make it into a movie. I hope the Wonder Woman vs Aquaman and Batman storylines are kept.

I have a vagina?

That's one of the biggest problems with these adaptations....they have to leave out some of the things that made the book a classic.

Decided to pick up Flashpoint graphic novel... Man, I thought it was awesome! Even more excited about the animated movie now. :D I mean, they have used the time-travel thing quite a bit here recently with The Flash comics, but I thought it was executed quite well.

Quite a Barry fan after reading a couple GN's of him... Always preferred Wally, but I'm beginning to shift gears on that.
