I'm very curious for this event since i'm a sucker for elseworlds and i don't find Johns writing too awful, even tho he's pacing has been god awful in the recent GL issues, but the Red Lantern issue was pretty fun.

Speculation mode:

- The goverment found the spaceship and it actually did crash, or the "they experimented on him for years" actually refers to Superman, not Abin Sur. Could the spaceship crash refer to Abin Sur giving his ring to an alien? Or is the "never crashed" just bullocks.
- Diana and Arthur are conquering europe atleast, with Diana attacking Britain and Arthur Paris, but how safe is america then? Or russia and china?
- Batman isn't Owlman here, but still a crook.

Not been said yet. Probably 6-8 issues, pretty usually for DC.

I hope it's 6. Or 4. Events would be so much better if they didn't literally take up most of a year. 8 months of a single story doesn't sound like a lot, but when it's an event it's really 8 months of a single story with slithery little tentacles reaching out into virtually every goddamn comic the company publishes. And 8 issues is a lot of time to fill with genuinely good content right off the bat--the best comic arcs are usually the smaller ones where they introduce stuff, get to the point, and move on. Even if you only read a few tie-ins, it still starts to feel pretty monstrous and/or boring.

Flashpoint is a 5 issue mini series that expands to 15 tie-in issues and one shots, gosh that is alot. Granted i did like alot of the Blackest Night tie-in issues, and it really depends on the creative teams whenever or not these what-if takes elseworlds will be enjoyable or not.

I think we can safely assume those mini-series will be at least three issues each, meaning 5 primary issues plus 45+ mini-series issues plus however many one-shots. Jesus Christ.

Also, I love the range of locations they gave to try to impart scale: a place in America and a place in Britain. Wow. How big.
