All he did was remove the TNG ridges. The tattoos and the shaved heads were something Nero and his crew did to themselves in remembrance of their dead loved ones.

Considering that Romulans are of the exact ancestry as Vulcans, I don't see where it would be illogical that they don't have forehead ridges like Vulcans.

i am not a big fan of the eyebrows or tattoos. the only thing i think that vindicates abrams is fringe which is to good to be pissed at him for. but i was really pissed for a while

ONE: Did you read the Star Wars prequel comics? If not, you should.

TWO: What part of my quote below did you fail to understand? I'll be more than happy to re-explain it to you.

You just killed your own argument by verifying that the TOS Romulans had no ridges, so if anything, J.J. put the Romulans back to how they're supposed to be. Then again, in the hundred years and more from TOS to TNG, the Romulans developed the ridges.

I'm gonna stick with abrams televison career. so far his movies kinda stink. don't even get me started on cloverfield

no. its like this. you take somebody elses ideas that have been around for 30 years, that people ( including myself ) have grown up watching . that have built a HUGE following of devoted fans and then throw a monkey wrench in the mix and expect everybody to be happy with it.

of course there are going to be a few who are pissed.

now i am not say the movie sucked 100%. there were parts i liked i really dug quinto as spock. and pine is a decent kirk

it was better then cloverfield but pales in comparison to fringe

i hope it starts of in the other earth. maybe even have a few episodes there. show us the alternate versions of the fringe crew. just for fun. i dont know about you guys but i think this dimension crossing ability of Olivia's has real potential for some awesome story lines. maybe even a cross over into lost or startledfield

J.J.'S ROMULANS LOOK EXACTLY LIKE THEY DID IN TOS. THE EXCEPTION BEING, THAT THE ROMULANS IN THE MOVIE CHOSE TO SHAVE THEIR HEADS AND TATTOO THEIR FACES DUE TO THEIR GRIEF AT THE LOSS OF ROMULUS. SO NO ONE'S IDEA--ESPECIALLY RODDENBERRY'S--"GOT CHANGED."
