It's back up to 82 :)

Glad to hear that. It felt like we were only getting negative reviews for awhile there. I didn't think the 100% would last, but it felt weird the ones who rushed to put there's up all gave it positive reviews.

83 now. Probably end at 80/81...

Yeah. I'm glad we have most of the screening reviews out of the way now, because, hopefully the rest of the reviewers get a better grasp of the character and what they're trying to do before they see it this weekend. I have a feeling it could actually go up further after this coming weekend, maybe ending up in the high 80s.

I hope it does better than that. I was pulling for a 90 but now I'm just hoping we get a mid-high 80.

The average rating has dropped fairly badly, though. I think it is going to have a tough time staying in the 80s. Still, it has been doing far better than I expected.

As long as it stays above 70% I'm content. It's not too often rated R comedies make that percentage.

Irish Times takes us down a bit more, but also 4 new fresh ones today.
Edit: dividing two numbers is hard :D

Down to 80 now... sigh.. Hopefully it rebounds back to 83 by the end of the day!

The 6.9 rating indicates that it isn't likely to stay in the 80s.

You know what film has less than 83% on Rotten Tomatoes?

The Revenant. Just saying.

The rating just indicates how wide the appeal is (among critics of course) so it doesn't say anything about the quality for those that are within the core target demographic.

If anything the current high rating is closer to making me wonder if they could have gone further with everything, since he can be a pretty extreme character, rather than wonder about if the movie does it's thing well. I don't worry about either though.

Really, I'm stunned that the RT score is as high as it is (81 right now). That's actually a great RT score, as the point about Revenant being at 82 shows. Shoot, Hail Caesar is at 79 and KFP3 is at 80, and critics generally love the Panda franchise and anything the Coens touch. If Deadpool ends up anywhere near the 80 mark (and that looks likely) that would be amazing to me.

Difference being Revenant's score is 8 whilst Deadpools is 6.8, which has dropped dramatically from where I last saw somewhere in the mid 7s

Yeah, the average review scores are more "passable" than "great". Still positive, though.

OTOH Hail, Caesar's score is 7 and it stayed at 79.

I'd consider anything above 70 a rousing success. As always, YMMV.

Faraci is going to give this a fresh review, even though he s**t on it for 90% of his review... What?

The guy hates Superhero films, this is just another Troll session to this guy. Not surprised.

Sure. But that book wasn't good.

Kick-Ass 1 and the Hitgirl solo were much stronger.

They dropped the ball by combining the Hit-Girl solo and Kick-Ass 2 into one movie. The Hit-Girl solo book could have been an amazing film, directed by Matthew Vaughn of course. The first Kick-Ass was masterfully directed.

Completely agree.

Welp, we're up to 80 reviews and it's at 81%. I think we can quit worrying about a big drop. If it bombs it won't be the fault of the critics.

I'll wait for the audience reviews, I'd like to know if reception there will be more positive.
