Deadpool & Wolverine Deadpool & Wolverine Rotten Tomatoes watch thread

I think it would be heavily criticized if it hits somewhere in the 70s.

I feel like a lot of people are expecting greatness from this. Ideally, a Deadpool/Wolverine team up movie really should be much better than the previous Deadpool movies and previous Wolverine movies. But I'm not confident, this movie would even achieve that.

Though, I think its a given it will at least be better than X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which featured both characters.

Not sure what to expect from this one. Usually I have an idea one way or the other.

Not really much of a bar to surpass, really. Sure, it was the last film that featured both characters.

But it was also a terrible film.

It isn't a bar to surpass. But come what way, it won't be the worst film that Deadpool & Wolverine ever appeared in.

So quality wise, both characters have already hit rock bottom in the movies.

I fear that this is gonna lean too much into cameos/fan service, and not enough on story and plot... so for that I think it'll end up around 72%.

Thats close to what Multiverse of Madness got two years ago so sigh...

I think diehard fans, like myself, are gonna love it, while the casual movie goer/film critic probably won't.
72% is still a fresh rating, but for Marvel movies within that range - its easy to spot the flaws even though the movie isn't a total disappointment. I would be nervous with that rating, plus it would be the worst reviewed Deadpool movie (unless you count Once Upon a Deadpool - 56%).

Anything higher than 80% would be a win.

I still remember obsessing about The Marvel's RT rating if it was gonna be fresh or rotten. Also the time, when Eternals and Quantumania both went rotten, those days were dark. The internet definitely paid attention to that rare moment for a MCU film. Rotten Tomatoes ratings/critical reception are huge things for comic book movies. I also think I've invested so much watching these films and that watching how they go on Rotten Tomatoes is just a regular part of the process for me.

It's early, but currently it's at 85% after about 65 reviews.

Hmm, I'm expecting casuals to love this. Film critics no though.

Down to 81%, 85 reviews logged in.

@Iceman is probably right, since the Top Critics score is currently 58% and rotten.

This will go Eternals-Route, isn't it?

How is this review fresh?
Ridiculous even by superhero standards, it remains more or less coherent.

Hmmm, Metacritic has it at 54/100. If I'm not mistaken it's the fourth worse received MCU movie there.

Deadpool was at 71% with top critics and Deadpool 2 was at 68% so it was never going to be high with them.

Honestly, I think these critics are too snooty and high-brow for their own good at times. Like the kind who will praise smaller release movies that people won't see and the public isn't interested in.

Eh it's all taste at the end of the day. I don't know if you'd be saying this if they praised it it higher.

No way it goes below 60% now, so I don't think do. Geek site reviews are much better for this. As of now, it's not much different from the reception of other Deadpool movies. It's also a whole lot closer to MoM reviews than Eternals.
