Friday The 13th Video Game

Aside from the server issues, how is everyone feeling about it?

The game is hella fun. Iv done a few matches as the counselors and one as Jason. Have yet to escape as the counselor and killed everyone as Jason my first go round. It's deff tough to escape/survive.

It is a fun game for sure.
I would play it more but I have to wait for my daughter to go to bed.

Great game when you actually get to play it. I've played as Jason once, and as the camp counselors. I did much better as Jason. Killed most of the counselors. Just one sly one managed to escape.

I will say, if you are looking to get this because you only want to be Jason, you might want to rethink that. Iv been playing since 4 and was Jason once. Granted the group I was playing with were dealing with game crashes every other match so that took time, but still, the vast majority of the time will be spent as a counselor. They're hella fun to play as though. Escaped on the boat my last match and escaped via the cops the match before that.

The game finally releasing and me not having it has me anxious for it more than I expected. I probably won't until next week or two when I get a gold membership

I'm actually more interested in playing as the counselors as weird as that may be. I'm glad you guys are enjoying it for the most part though. I will be getting this as soon as I can on PS4, but it may be awhile. Do you guys feel like they succeeded in making it feel like a single player survival horror game when you're a counselor?

Absolutely dude. I mean u start off in a random spot so you've gotta get your bearings immediately. Head to the nearest cabin, start scavenging for stuff that'll help YOU. Things like pocket knives, maps, weapons. Then u gotta figure out how the hell you'll get away. Are ya gonna try and find the fuse to fix the phone and call the cops? Or are ya gonna try and find the parts to fix the car/boat etc. my last match I teamed up with another guy and we split up and hit two diff housss and we're lucky enough to find both the propellor and gas and we got the hell out of there on the boat.

Any good hiding spots or spawn camping? Lol

Haha not really. The only time iv seen any "camping" is when we called the cops and the Jason went over to where they spawn and he stayed in that area. He placed some traps down. He got one counselor caught in a trap just before they could reach the exit. Later I'm gonna try just hiding and see how long I can last. I know if u hide in a house Jason can sense that someone is in the house. That's how I killed my final counselor the time I played as Jason

I wonder if anyone actually hides under beds or in showers and hope whoever is Jason, doesn't bother looking there

Iv seen a few try it, doesn't seem to be the best strategy tho. Like I said, if ur hiding under a bed and Jason uses his sense, he can tell if ur in the house. He won't know where exactly but he'll find u eventually

One more question. When you die, do you spectate other players or do you get booted out or actually get to respawn???

You get to spectate other players, there's also a chance that the game will respawn you as Tommy Jarvis if another player manages to call him, I got to play as Tommy like that once, managed to give Jason a run for his money, even knocked his mask off, still got my head shoved through a spear though. Half the counselors managed to survive the round though, so I considered my efforts worthwhile.

I've been debating all-day if I want to get it now or not. I've been watching people play the game and I'm having fun watching them and the game itself does look fun, but there's nothing more than multiplayer at the moment. The servers look like a nightmare and waiting to get a match can take a long time, the game itself does seem janky and glitchy a lot. It looks like a solid 20 dollar game so I can't see myself shelling out 53 dollars (canadian) for it at the moment.

Hopefully the price drops or it goes on sale by October, I'll snag it.

Downloaded the game this morning and will hopefully get to play it a bit this weekend.

How is the quality of the game itself? Graphics, connection, glitches, etc?

I've been watching streams today, its got major server issues that they're working on ironing out. The graphics are solid but the animations are iffy and the game is a bit buggy. Also it has some of the worst facial animations this side of Mass Effect: Andromeda, but the core mechanics appear to deliver on everything they promised.

I was initially on the fence about downloading this game but I'm glad I did. I'm having a lot of fun playing it with my group of friends, this game really throws a lot of intense and fun moments at you.

Played a game last night where we all managed to repair the car and there was somebody else trying to escape with us and we accidentally drove off without him and I couldn't stop laughing.

Great game if you're a fan of the films, really hope the developers continue to churn out updates and content.

It looks like a game developed by a super small studio with a super limited budget compared to other AAA games. With that said, they nailed the feeling of F13. As for connection, it's horrible right now. The game crashes reliably every 2 matches or so. That stuff I'm sure will be fixed but it still needs to be mentioned

Finally got to play on Xbox One by going to the game hub > look for groups and was invited to almost every group I messaged. So if you're having trouble finding matches on Xbox, I'd recommend going that route...

First match... I was the first counselor to die. Came back as Tommy. Seemed to spawn near the police just as the timer ran out and headed to the police and survived.

Second match... first counselor to die... again. Came back as Tommy. Seemed to spawn near another player being chased by Jason... so I tried to help out... killed.

Third match... Finally got to play as Jason... killed 5/5 counselors. Didn't think I'd like playing as Jason based on videos and such, mostly a speed thing compared to the counselors... but I had a total blast as Jason. Some of the abilities took a bit getting used to...

Fourth match... counselor... second to last to die.

Fifth match... same as fourth.

Loving the game so far. I don't have a mic, so the survival strategizing may be a bit hindered... but again, loving it.

ETA:
Sixth match... doing well, not the first one to die... I'm the one fixing the car and... error message...

Seventh match... same as sixth.

To me it seems like surviving as a counselor is more luck than anything else. I mean if Jason decides ur the one he wants and u don't have any knives or the like, ur dead.

I'm so tired of playing as a counselor. Iv been Jason once in about 15 hours of gameplay

I think it would be neat if they could figure out an algorithm to let you play as Jason every three to five matches.

Had my third run at being Tommy. Again, first and only counselor axed so it was me... and survived. Fair better as Tommy it seems... or Tommy spawns near the police location just as the police arrive. Was actually able to semi coordinate with another player w/o a mic, they had a mic though... it was fun.

Had three matches with a connection error in the middle of the session... probably try again tomorrow.

My one run as Jason earlier was still my only run as Jason.

So far, expectations met and exceeded. Even if I'm the first dead... just wandering around, hiding, etc., is fun... and the music and sound through my headphones... I jumped a couple times...

Is your spawn preference set to Jason?
