Friday The 13th Video Game

Thanks for the input Wildcard. I read a few things here and there to go either way. I'll readjust based on your input. Much appreciated.

No problem at all. Glad I could help! :)

I actually did exactly what you were referring to and I noticed it wasn't helping much. I had two repair perks on my Lachappa and nothing for speed, which kept screwing me over. Granted, he's still not the fastest with speed perks but it has made a difference and allowed me to escape Jason long enough to plan my next move.

Btw, has anyone gotten the Halloween costumes yet? I'll probably drop down and buy them sometime this week just to have them because most of them look pretty cool.

New kills that are available for purchase are pretty cool too. So are the new environmental kills that have been added...my new favorite kill out of all of them is the butcher knife kill. So simple yet so brutal. Perfectly Jason Voorhees-esque. :woot:

My new favorite is Part 8. Total beast.

Sold all my Counselor perks and starting fresh. Have a few levels to go for Fox.

Very happy about this. Always thought the levels should've went higher than 101. Hope they start rolling out new content soon because this game desperately needs it. On a daily basis as far as Steam is concerned there are only 1,500-3,600 people playing, which is pretty bad, especially when you consider games like Dead By Daylight have anywhere from 10,000-20,000 or more on the game per day.

And I truly believe this game is mainly suffering from a lack of new content. I'm absolutely happy with all that's been done so far and the advancements that have been made considering the various bugs and glitches that used to exist, but I really want to see more. Where's single-player? Where are the missing Jason's and new maps that they've consistently talked about like the Grendel spaceship and Lazarus boat? Or how about a winter based map? Imo, this is the type of content the game needs to give the player count a shot in the arm and get people back interested.

I'm still at level 67 and just starting to play it again. I need to find my headset. :( Even if I'm the only one with a headset in the group, I like trying to co-ordinate what I'm doing if I have someone nearby or a walkie.

Coordinating is almost always impossible with a random group of people because everybody is trying to do something different and most of those things usually have nothing to do with actually escaping. Only very rarely have I ran into random groups and we had perfect coordination that led to 0 deaths.

For me coordinating is impossible because 95% of the time, the game spawns me alone, and the rest of the counselors together and across the map.

But that's fine, I prefer to survive the night alone, and camp out near the police exits. Let everyone else repair the phones, but I'll occasionally try to call Tommy.

I don't keep up with updates/patches, but I'm basically playing counselor because all of a sudden I can survive. What was adjusted?

They started marking dropped items on the map, reduced Jason's grab range, prevented him from hitting counselors while they go through windows, made him easier to stun, prevented him from placing traps near each other, etc. Basically it's easier for counselors to find and complete objectives and easier for them to hold off Jason.

I really hope they do some serious buffing on Jason, most of the game's patches have either nerfed him or buffed the counselors, or both. He doesn't feel like as much of an OP force of nature as I think he should surviving counselors should feel lucky to have survived, instead surviving is becoming all too easy.

I think that still depends on who is playing Jason. You get someone who isn't used to playing as Jason and it's extremely easy to dodge him and survive the night/match. You get someone that's good or great as Jason and it becomes near impossible to fix anything or mount a real offense/defense.

I do still agree there need to be changes made, though. Such as Jason hitting counselors as they go through windows. Imo, that added to the excitement of the game because it leaves you thinking "am I gonna make it in time before I get slashed?"

On a somewhat unrelated note, I also still feel they need to fix the spawn rate of the Pamela and Tommy tapes. There are so many people who have been playing this for so long & still don't have all of the tapes. And now there's an entirely new set to collect.

I've seen this mentioned a lot here and there. I've found two, one a couple weeks ago, and another this morning.

I don't mind the spawn rate, gives me something to do.

I just need to get one more Pamela tape. I only have two of Tommy's though.

Admittedly, I haven't played much in the past few months so the drop rates on tapes probably changed but I hit 67 without finding a single Pamela tape.

I'd like to get one! Just one!

I only just found my eighth last night and I think the spawn rate is totally messed up. No way I should have 1,000 hours on the game with only eight tapes, especially considering how much I play counselor compared to Jason (even though the latter is my preference).

Hell, I don't even think somebody should clock 10+ hours on F13th without finding a tape. I'm not saying a million have to spawn in every game, just that they should show up more frequently. Very rarely am I hearing "I found a tape!" during matches. In fact, besides myself, I only know of one other person that's found one, which was a friend.

And I still haven't personally come across many who have acquired a Tommy Jarvis tape since their inception.

I got one of the Pamela tapes!

Now I don't care if I get anymore. :D

Can't say I feel entirely the same since I'm a bit of a completist.

Speaking of which, I managed to actually find my first Tommy Jarvis tape the other night. And while playing as Mitch of all characters. :funny:

Shelly from Part 3 is being added to the game;

Yay! Now they need a special kill for him to reference #3.

It's weird to think he only got his iconic mask due to Shelly. Wonder what they would have given him otherwise?

Fox and Shelly, favorite characters from the first film I saw in the series, and one of my personal faves.

I see no issues here with that.

I'm happy about the offline bots and Shelly being added but I wish they'd work a little bit faster. There have been so many missed opportunities thus far with the game & the fact that so much has been promised that has yet to be delivered is extremely disappointing.

THE UPDATE FOR OFFLINE PLAY AND VIRTUAL CABIN IS NOW OUT

The virtual cabin is pretty neat and I'm about to try the offline.

The virtual cabin is super rad. Offline is fun. I still think it's funny how much branding alone will let you get away with because offline mode is basically Manhunt.

Love that they added some offline stuff, haven't gotten to the VC yet, but offline bots are fun, nice to have a mode where you can always play as Jason and don't have to deal with hosts dropping out of session, people quitting before you kill them, and people exploiting bugs to troll Jason, also worth noting that points earned offline count towards your level, so it's an easy and reliable way to level up.

The offline bots are fun overall, but my goodness they do some stupid things sometimes, even on hard mode. Twice I had a counselor wait until I broke into a cabin and then ran and hid under a bed right in front of me. LOL.
