The Dark Knight From LatinoReview: Joker Intro SPOILERS!

As has been said before, the FDIC will only insure to $100,000. I would imagine most mobsters would have at least...10 times that? Most likely more. That is the most they could get back.

I suspect the bank is also the place where the money is laundered.

I wasn't aware of the maximum insurance, therefore I will eat my shoe. However, if precious documents or something were being held in safety deposit boxes in the bank, that would make more sense to me.

thats what i was thinking, these are mob guys we are talking about, and if a lot of mob people keep their money there, its most likely than not corrupt, plus do you think the mob would declare this money to the government, that means they have to pay taxes on it, and when was the last time you saw someone in the mob pay taxes on their money. they could also have kept the money in the bank safety boxes, and not have it through the actual bank itself. hell in a city as corrupt as gotham is, i dont think this is an honest bank, let alone honest mobsters.

Thats because you have a child's capacity for understanding other people's opinions. Your opinion is the only one that matters because its the only one that can. When you gain some life experience you'll understand the difference between what you want to be true and what is.

LOL, okay, tell me what "life experience" exactly has to do with an argument about superhero movies? I'm not sure if you even can tell me what its relevance is. It just seems to be a line you randomly through into your posts to come across as intelligent. You used it against TheBatman072 when he tore you to shreds earlier - I tried to bail you out of that mess, but you merely responded with more sarcasm and shoved your foot even further into your mouth.

Now, as for "understanding people's opinions," I think it's me that actually has to school you on what that entails. See, to understand someone's opinion on a message board, you must first read their post. Think about it. Ask yourself "What is this person saying here? Why have they said it?" Then, if you wish to respond, you address the points they raised, and explain why you agree or disagree with them. This is a pretty basic method of understanding the opinions of others, that yes, even someone of "a child's capacity" should be able to understand.

Yet you can't seem to do it.

See, the above paragraph is how you SHOULD do it. Here's how you do it. It seems you'll read maybe the first few words of a post, enough to conclude that the person disagrees with you. Then, instead of addressing the subject at hand, you throw a hissy fit, and post something along the lines of "GGGGGRR ME HATES U U R STUPID GET SUM LIFE EXPERIENCE LOLZ I WINZ TEH FIGHT!!!!!!!!111"

And you wonder why people think you're a troll?

Now, back to "understanding opinions", I did this by researching your posts. You have said "Dead End" is a superior film to "Batman Begins". "Dead End", a short film with zero budget, that while boasting some nifty Alien/Predator costumes/SFX, also features terrible, wooden/hammy acting - the chief culprit being the awful Joker. You're comparing this to "Batman Begins", a movie with a first-rate ensemble cast, directed by one of the best, most consistently-great directors working today in Christopher Nolan, a film that audiences and critics alike have adored. And while even the most biased of Dead End fans would admit that as a film, "Begins" tops it on every level, you hail "Dead End"'s superiority. And what factor do you continually bring up to support your argument?

"They got Batman right."

Apparently, zero character development can lead to the ultimate cinematic Batman....so long as he's wearing grey tights and black undies.

Same with "Fantastic Four". 2 movies that received lukewarm reactions from fans and critics alike. But what "advantage" does it hold over "Begins". Accurate costumes, for the 4 leads at least. Based on these two bits of information, I concluded that you're a fan who thinks the details like costume and "comic accuracy" are more important than putting together a great film that captures the spirit of the comics while still being an independent cinematic experience in of itself.

So, you see, this may be a strange concept to you, but to "understand your opinion", I read your posts, got a handle on your likes and dislikes....and came to an informed conclusion (or at least an educated guess) based on them. This is a technique you might want to consider before blindly flaming people.

I've read some of your posts on the "Watchman" boards, it's clear you can be a pretty smart, well-informed guy when you want to be. So it's a shame that you're making yourself look like such an imbecile here. You're better than that, try to show it.

*has a giggle fit at this*

Cop 1 -"Hey, did you ice this guy?"
Honest Mobster - "Why, I sure did!"
Cop 1 - "Wow...really? Well, I suppose since you told the truth we should just let you go!"
Cop 2 - "Man, what an honest mobster! He deserves a cookie!"

Thank you for proving me right.

*shrugs* I'm an English major. I enjoy reading those "diatribes" as long as they're well written and have a point behind them.

Perhaps you're new to these forums, perhaps not. Congrats on the English Major. I did as well, and I can assure you that my M.A. has afforded me an almost unfair boost in aiding my meteoric rise here at Arby's. Another couple of things to mention: 1) From a purely literary perspective, posts on the SHH boards are typically about as instructive or inspiring as a bris; 2) The "point behind" every offering here is invariably monistic: "I have severe personality disorders."

Welcome!

Keyser Soze is the man and made my post completely redundant so I removed the original text and instead replace it with the following.

Creamcheese

That is all.

Awwww, I liked the post the way it was before. :woot:

Ehhh, I'll believe it when I see it.

While I like the Joker working for himself approach, isn't it a bit premature and too early for him to start being an anarchist?

And also the whole "holding people's money" for ransom was done in "S.W.A.T." when the bad guy offers up a million dollars to anyone who can give him a safe exit out of the city, except this is for anyone who can kill the Batman.

While, the idea is good, to me it'd seem a better fitting ending part of the movie, than a beginning or introduction to the Joker. The Joker I wanted was a guy who robs a bank, flees the scene, ends up at a warehouse, and then ends up becoming perma-clowned or Alan Moore's take on The Joker. :csad:

am i the only one whos not spoiled at all? :ninja:

No good. A criminal who robs a bank, goes insane, THEN commits the "armed robbery double homicide" mentioned in BB as the Joker? Eh. Wouldn't make sense for him to be white red and green to the bank manager and then fall into some chemicals.

I sense a disturbance in the force............

This is the kind of thing that spoilt Begins for me, the filmmakers approaching it as a grounded world but using plot devices and motivations that don't deserve to be taken at all seriously. I need a little more than a ridiculous premise presented in a sincere manner.

But it's LR so I'll say no more

Welcome!

Thanks for the welcome and the congrats on my degree (or degree in progress rather). Been lurking here on and off since this place was Spider-Man Hype so I'm well versed in the ways of the boards.

No, no, thank you for proving ME right. I rest my case. :cwink:

You know something? He kind of talks about children a lot. Or at least CALLING grown men children.

Why don't you have a seat over here, Brobdingnab.

Word up.

random note on this.

im sure the "high up" warner dude was paraphrasing his intro...

second,

why would Joker all of a sudden have a random vendetta against Batman...if this EXACTLY how it plays out...kinda random...

thoughts on whether or not the Anime DVD will resolve that?

or the IMAX footage?
