I have a question about the validity of the lationreview article..

In the teaser, alfred said: they turned to a man they fully didn't understand. or something close like that.

So...presumably, they is the mafia, and the man is Joker...well that's what I always thought.

So why is Joker holding the money at ransom?

And why would the mafia go after Batman, instead of Joker, if Joker betrayed the mafia?

Really. That film freaking deserves it. Some of the best stuff I've seen. I always get a warm feeling of the composition and lighting in the plane scene.

Well yea it is LR, and they are one of the worst sources for some things. I remember how many countless movies I've been hyped for that they give contraversal material just to get attention to their site. It is most likley at most half true.

I mean they said they had lunch or a inside had lunch with a WB executive..... yea executives don't know crap about any of the movies they are giving money to, thats all they do they are like the loan sharks of money. They may know some tid bits but they could care less. And I doubt this executive really even knows the full story of TDK nor does he care.

I think the story is pretty fabricated, maybe some truths in there but not many if any.

I'm kinda iffy on this... it could be cool. But it doesn't go with the trailer, and actually I like the mob turning to Joker for help more. And then he backstabs them. I wouldn't be terribly disappointed if this is true.

That's what I'm saying. The article says "BIG SPOILER", like it's something that you'd want to be surprised about during the course of watching the film. This isn't like someone revealing that Ducard was actually Ras Al Ghul. This is just a setup for the character that's not all that interesting anyway.

No, it makes joker look like a little chump. I want the mob to go to the joker, because joker is such a bad ass. Joker kills two people in this scene, the bank manager and one of his crew members, and this is suppose to be an armed robbery correct?

This is a flashback scene. This possibly took place when batman took down falcone and all of the events of batman begins went down. My theory makes sense, because Nolan himself said TDK will have no less flashback scenes then batman begins and remember, batman begins began with a flashback scene. I'm liking the fact he's keeping the substance thing going on, however just upscale the action and I really hope the mob goes to the joker. Instead of vice versa. Think about it, how bad ass will joker look, if notorious crime family syndicates goes to one man in order to take out batman. This will make batmand and joker look like bad ass individuals. It's perfect!

Agreed but I think it would be equally as badass if they setup how bad ass these mobsters are and then the Joker just holds them hostage like "if you don't help me i anally rape you" and they cower to him

thats not a huge leap, just one nomination sheesh. if it was nominated for best actor, picture, art direction, etc, then i would care. and it didnt even win.

I'm gonna have to say I'm a bit skeptical about this development as well. It just doesn't seem to fit. Like, Batman JUST got there. Why use the whole mob to bring down one guy who hasn't even begun to show his full potential yet as Gotham's savior?

Hmm, well maybe we watched different movies but BB was pretty strait forward that Batman did take down the head crime boss of the crime syndicate that was choking all of Gotham. He took down Falcone and is putting fear into those who try to do this work.

Batman made a HUGE dent in their way of life. So yea I could see the whole mob seeing him as a threat, some one they can't buy off like a cop, something industrucable. Now with the Sons of Batman running around in TDK he has started a revolutoin where the good are standing up to the evil and corrupt. Of course they want Batman dead. All of em do.
