"From The Pages Of..." Comics Universe RPG: Season I Signup/OOC Thread

Character you'd like to portray: Lt. Commander Montgomery Scott

Superhuman powers, traits, other attributes of interest: No superhuman powers, but an expert engineer.

Originally appearing from (which comic, and company)? Gold Key Comics, currently IDW Publishing.

Fictional history of the character (as you're going to interpret it): Born in Scotland, 2222, Scott spent most of his early life in his birth country before joining Starfleet. Hero, Villain, or Walking the line?: Hero

List a few reasons why you chose this character: I've always loved Star Trek and Scotty has always been my favourite. I love his interpretation and it's too hard to resist playing the best Engineer in the cosmos.

How will this character differ from it's original incarnation?: It'll be a mix of the original incarnation and the latest film's incarnation.

Write two complete sentences explaining what you can bring to this RPG: I can bring good ideas and good use of a fantastic character. I'll work hard to stay consistent in my character and bring interesting twists to a storyline.

How many days a week you intend on posting in the RPG: 7, everyday

Please provide a small sample post as your character, at least 3 paragraphs and one line of dialogue in length:

I sat at the bar drinking happily, gulping down my scottish whisky. The bar at the USS Enterprise was a mighty good one, but I much preferred some of the ones in Aberdeen. Mighty fine places.

"Another one over here, lad," I ask to the young man behind the bar as another scottish whisky slides down the bar in my direction.

I turn my head as I pick up the drink and look at two science ensigns arguing with each other. So young. One of them swings a punch at the other, sending blood splattering to the floor.

I sigh and stand up as the other retaliates with a headbutt. I slink over to the two, drinking my drink before grabbing both of them and smacking their heads together.

"Could somebody call security and get these gentlemen out of here? Now if you don't mind, I'd like to have my drink in peace."

I KNEW IT! I knew someone would pick up a ST character after this past Friday.

Hang on, can someone tell me how Star Trek characters are appearing in this current universe? Time Travel? Worm hole?

Hang on, can someone tell me how Star Trek characters are appearing in this current universe? Time Travel? Worm hole?

They're living in their current time in the 24th century, but Wieg and I are doing a time travel arc right now where they travel back to the current time of everyone else in the RPG.

Ah, alright then.

I'll be getting an app up in a moment.

It's not a Trek character, I know **** all about Star Trek

Approved.

Well hell. Looks like I'll need to edit to include Scotty in the landing party. ;) :word:

I watched the Patrick Stewart ones when I was a nipper but other than vauge snipptes of info I really don't know anything about it. Otherwise I'd probably pick up Spock.

Spock not being played? That seems illogical, Captain...

*considers*

Yeah, BL. You seem more like a redshirt than anything. :oldrazz:

I, too, know nothing of Star Trek, unfortunately - or I'd be more than happy to join the crew.

If you're up for it, I've edited to have Scotty beam down to help search for McCoy.

From The Pages Of... RPG APPLICATION

Screen Name: The Turtle

Character you'd like to portray: The Doctor

Superhuman powers, traits, other attributes of interest: The ability to regenerate, saving himself from death. This results in a complete change of appearance and personality. He travels in time in a time machine stuck in the shape of a 1950's Police Box. He has two hearts and he often claims to be able to "see" time.

Originally appearing from (which comic, and company?):

Previously: Doctor Who Weekly (Marvel), Doctor Who Comics (Marvel)

Currently: Doctor Who Magazine, Doctor Who Comics (IDW), BBC Publishing.

Fictional history of the character (as you're going to interpret it): The Doctor is an alien - a Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey. He left his home planet, seeking adventure. However he occasionally lies and says he's in exile. He travels in time and space in his ship - The TARDIS. Normally traveling with human companions, he now finds himself alone. He enjoys interfering in human history. Currently in his first body, it is growing old and he feels the end of his first life coming.

Hero, Villain, or Walking the line?: Hero

List a few reasons why you chose this character: The Doctor

How will this character differ from it's original incarnation?: I'd be taking the original character and infusing it with modern sensibilities,

Write two complete sentences explaining what you can bring to this RPG: I've been involved in RPG's before - so I know what I'm doing. My character selection opens up very epic story lines.

How many days a week you intend on posting in the RPG: At least once per day. Minimum.

Please provide a small sample post as your character, at least three paragraphs and one line of dialogue in length:

The white doors hum as they open, and the old man enters. He supports himself on an old, battered wooden walking stick. He looks around him, admiring the clean, white console room. He touches a wall, feeling it's vibration - it's BREATHING. The TARDIS, thinking, feeling. Alive.

He hobbles over to the console, and props his stick against it. He reaches for a lever, and pulls it. Slowly, a grinding fills the room. Like two sheets of metal being rubbed together, but deeper. More powerful. The sound of the entire universe contained in this one room.

He smiles to himself, then looks around. It strikes him now, that he is alone. Even with all of time and space at his fingertips, he is alone. He smiles wearily, then pats the console.

"Oh well old girl, I propo...suppose it's just me and you now, hmm?"

Wibbly-Wobbly, timey-whimey...stuff....

Ah Ten, he's awesome. But it's all gotta be in order - although Doctor 1 will regenerate soon enough. Poor old guy isn't cut out for the "action packed".
