Got something in, not much...in fact it's very little, but it's something. I'll get more of a post up later

Screen Name: Johnny Blaze

Character you'd like to portray: Artemis Entreri

Superhuman powers, traits, other attributes of interest: No superhuman powers; Artemis is a tactical master, taking every advantage offered him and seeking to create more. Artemis is also a very fast learner. Even if he observes a particular combat maneuver just once or twice, he is able to adapt it to his choice of weapons and duplicate it effectively in battle (these tend to be Drizzt's maneuvers, their styles and skill level being so similar). He is also excellent at improvising; he can use his surroundings to excellent effect, when he would otherwise be at a severe disadvantage. Artemis is also a consummate warrior, combining his ambidexterity, thieving training, and warrior's weapon skills to be one of the most dangerous swordsmen in the Realms. Few men indeed could have so repeatedly crossed blades with Drizzt Do'Urden and lived to tell of it. He specializes in a two-weaponed fighting style with the use of a magical dagger and longsword, equaling Drizzt in fighting capability.

As for personality (taken from Wiki)...
Artemis is a professional and always has an air of control about him. Every move he makes or word he speaks is calculated to achieve a desired effect. He never allows emotions or the circumstances, no matter how dire, to master him. He tirelessly maintains himself in top condition, and constantly seeks to improve his martial skills.

Artemis is also terribly cunning, able to out think as well as outfight his opponents. One aspect of his professionalism that is rare in a man whose business is killing is that Artemis usually never kills unless it is necessary or unless he's been hired to do so. There has been the occasional exception, where Entreri killed somebody simply because he really wanted to. On two of these occasions the victim had made the mistake of angering Artemis and provoking him. Artemis has vowed to "never leave an enemy in his wake." He does not take threats lightly. For the most part, those who are not enemies of Entreri or his allies have nothing to fear from him.

Aside from items of value that are useful in the pursuit of his ends (such as his enchanted weapons,) Entreri tends to not care about, or even to actively disdain, wealth and material luxuries. is part of Entreri's outlook on life to sublimate his urges and desires; he tends to view them as weaknesses. He tends to hold the view that living in luxury will 'soften' him. He dislikes intoxicants and drugs because they cloud the mind; only on very rare occasions has he ever relaxed enough to imbibe even moderate amounts of alcohol, and then only in very secure surroundings. He only rarely indulged his sexual urges in the past, both because he viewed the inability to sublimate his desire as weakness and because of the vulnerability inherent in sexual, and particularly romantic, relationships.

Entreri despises serving other individuals. He values his independence highly (and, of course, trusts virtually no one) and tends to views serving another as little better than being a slave to that person.

Artemis wields a magical vampiric dagger with a gem-studded hilt. The dagger possesses the ability to suck the life force of the victim and use it to heal the wielder. The more sinister portion of the blades power is its ability to feed on the victim's very soul, thus destroying the victim entirely.
Entreri's cloak, a drow piwafwi, makes him virtually invisible in the shadows.
Entreri also wields a longsword of fine quality and craftsmanship.

Originally appearing from (which comic, and company?): Legend of Drizzt comic series (Devil's Due)

Fictional history of the character (as you're going to interpret it):

Artemis was born in the city of Memnon in Calimshan, but traveled to Calimport with a desert caravan when he was only nine. He escaped the caravan once it arrived in the city as he learned that he was going to be sold into slavery by the wicked merchants of the caravan.

Artemis lived on the streets of Calimport after that, using his canny wits and outstanding physical qualities to carve a niche of turf for him self in one of the city’s hundreds of poor shanty towns. After several years, he was noticed by members of the Basadoni Cabal, one of the most powerful thieves’ guilds in Calimport.

He ascended the ranks of the guild quickly, again aided by his devious mind, fit body, and the underestimation of one so young by his foes. At some point after that, he left a lieutenancy in Basadoni's Cabal (or the Cabal itself was wiped out or absorbed) for employment in Pasha Pook's guild. It was this event that was to later bring him into contact with the drow ranger who would become his nemesis, Drizzt DoUrden. Artemis served Pook for an unknown number of years, until he (and many of Pook’s guild members) were sent out to search for a halfling thief named Regis who'd stolen one of a dozen rubies from the Pasha, a magical stone on a pendant able to charm those who gazed into it. Artemis eventually found Regis in the Icewind Dale area known as Ten-Towns in 1351 DR. He was spotted by the halfling, however, who again fled.

Artemis tracked Regis and his companions, as they sought the location of Mithral Hall, the dwarf Bruenor’s ancestral home. Artemis had captured the companions, friend Catti-Brie for information, use as a hostage, and as bargaining chip; Artemis intended to trade the young girl for the halfling whom he would then return to Calimport with the rubies and for a suitable punishment.

Artemis also found himself working briefly with forces of the Arcane Brotherhood, assigned the task by the wizard, Dendybar the Mottled. This union was not a calm one, and Artemis killed a warrior named Jierdan over leadership of the band. When this group caught up with the heroes in the dangerous passageways of Mithral Hall, the remainder of the Brotherhood’s forces perished and Artemis met Drizzt face to face for the first time. This clash, and several more to follow, was inconclusive, though both men grew to hate one another perhaps because they both saw the kind of man each might have become had circumstances differed. Artemis was successful in capturing Regis, and he returned the halfling to Calimport. At one point, Regis tried to escape, and Artemis removed a finger from his hand as punishment and a warning not attempt such a ploy again. Regis hoped to slow their travels enough so that his companions, who were pursuing, might catch up. Regis was later rescued and Pook’s guild all but destroyed by the actions of the heroes, although Artemis survived and disappeared into Calimport’s streets. When the halfling’s friends were set to return north, Regis said he’d remain behind and run what had been Pook’s guild. In 1357, .Regis reappeared at Mithral Hall, now the heroes home.

Actually, Artemis was using a magical mask (functioning as a hat of disguise) to appear as the halfling. Artemis had captured the real Regis and hidden him deep in the bowels of Mithral Hall. Artemis and Drizzt fought again, and finally, one seemed about to defeat the other. Drizzt left the battered Artemis for dead, though Regis later tried to finish the job the drow ranger had started.

Artemis did not die, however (at least not permanently). He was found by Jarlaxle of the Bregan Daerthe band of drow mercenaries and taken to Menzoberranzan. Jarlaxle healed him and offered to let Artemis help the drow bring down Mithral Hall and kill Drizzt once and for all. Left with little choice, Artemis agreed, though he knew the drow would likely kill him the instant he was no longer of use to them. The fact that the drow of Menzoberranzan revered Lolth, the Spider Queen did nothing to help comfort Artemis, as he’d always hated spiders. Artemis again met Drizzt and Catti-Brie, and eventually the three reached an agreement to work together and escape the drow and their city.

The plan worked, but as time passed, both men found it increasingly difficult to be in the others presence, so great was the enmity between them. After the journey of a week or so back to the deep tunnels beneath Mithral Hall, Artemis left the company of the human and the drow and, while no hostilities were exchanged, the fiery light in both men’s eyes said that the truce was over and if they ever met again, it would be for the final time.

But Artemis did not make it out of the Underdark. While navigating the tunnels towards the surface, Artemis is enveloped by a bright darkness and the world around him seemingly melts away.

Disoriented, Entreri comes to on the side of dirt road under the light of a full moon. Crops of grain line the roadside, stretching as far as the eye can see. Artemis was definitely no longer in the Realms.

Hero, Villain, or Walking the line?: Villain, for now

List a few reasons why you chose this character: I'm a huge fan of the character, and this game needs another villain.

Write two complete sentences explaining what you can bring to this RPG: I can bring experience in role-playing. That's about it.

How many days a week you intend on posting in the RPG: As many as need be, life permitting.

Please provide a small sample post as your character, at least three paragraphs and one line of dialogue in length:

"Unnghh."

Entreri groaned as his eyes slowly blinked open. The buzzing of insects assaulted his eardrums as he pushed himself up off of the hard, stone ground. It was dark out, but there was enough light from the moon for Entreri to see. And there was light from something else...

A loud honking sound rang out as Entreri instinctively rolled away as two bright beams of light came bearing down at him.

"Crazy *******! Get out of the road!"

The bizarre vehicle race down the smooth stone road at a speed to out due a hundred horses.

"Where in the Nine Hells am I", whispered a stunned Artemis as he slowly spun around, taking in his surroundings. There was nothing but agriculture land as far as he could see. Just this one little road in the middle of nowhere.

Artemis Entreri, despite the sudden shock of it all, composed himself quickly and did the only thing he could do. With his hands resting snugly on the hilt of his weapons, Entreri started to walk...

Character you'd like to portray: Shang Tsung

Superhuman powers, traits, other attributes of interest: Shang Tsung is a powerful sorceror who relies on absorbing the souls of mortal to sustain his own life. He has powerful magic including necromancy and shape shifting.

Originally appearing from (which comic, and company?): Mortal Kombat: Blood & Thunder, Malibu Comics.

Fictional history of the character (as you're going to interpret it):

Shang Tsung's past remains shrouded in mystery. Shang Tsung was cursed by "his gods" not only to kill his enemies, but to take their souls as well. Only in this way would he hold off his grim fate: to age rapidly and die prematurely. As a side effect of his consuming the souls of others, Tsung was able to access their memories and knowledge, an ability which would greatly benefit him years later.

Tsung entered the Mortal Kombat tournament, quickly overcoming all competition and becoming Grand Champion. How long he retained the title is unclear; however the overconfident Tsung would eventually have it taken from him by the legendary Shaolin warrior monk, the Great Kung Lao.

Shang Tsung returned years later, now appearing far older, after the "mysterious" death of one of the tournament's three Grandmasters. He brought with him his greatest student: the Shokan prince Goro. He had been ordered by the ruler of Outworld, Shao Kahn, to finally bring about the winning streak in Mortal Kombat necessary to unbalance the Furies and weaken the dimensional gates, thus allowing the Outworld Emperor to conquer Earth. After a valiant but doomed fight, The Great Kung Lao was defeated by Goro and killed. Tsung consumed his soul, and the Outworld's domination of the Mortal Kombat tournament had begun.

However, Shang Tsung was impatient in his quest to overthrow the Earth Realm and began to lay plans in place to bring on an apocalypse and merge both dimensions into one.

Shang Tsung made contact with another sorcerer, Quan Chi. He had become aware of Quan Chi's quest for Shinnok's amulet, the location of which was known only to the Shaolin Monks. As a result of consuming the Great Kung Lao's soul, Shang Tsung had learned of it. In exchange for Quan Chi's, and Shinnok's, aid in completing a task for the Emperor Shao Kahn, he gave the location of the Map of the Elements. With this amulet and the combined power of the three sorcerors, Shang Tsung could put his plans into action and begin his quest to forcibly defy the Gods and take Earth Realm for himself.

Hero, Villain, or Walking the line?: Villain

List a few reasons why you chose this character: He's aweome. I've just watched the MK films. JB made me.

Please provide a small sample post as your character, at least three paragraphs and one line of dialogue in length:

The Mirror shimmered and shivered on the edges of its border, the dragon-headed frame that had kept it prisoner for countless centuries. Its surface glowed faintly in the oppressive gloom of the Black Tower's lowest level.
It was his, now: his prisoner and servant. Shang Tsung knew better than to brag: the Mirror of Souls, though not alive, still had a mind of its own. He must be careful, or it could destroy him. Angry as it was, the Mirror might reflect him as an old man, or an ordinary mortal, or a powerless infant.

Then there was the worst possibility: it might not reflect him at all. If that happened, he wouldn't even die. He would simply never have existed.

"It's powerful, that thing, whatever it is," said a woman behind him.

Shang Tsung turned to face her, shaking his head in irritation. Only one of the Tower's residents would be so addicted to magic that she'd dare to follow him here: Mileena, child of the Emperor. She'd been designed that way--a living tuning fork for magical energies. And, as usual, her homing instinct had proved right.

Tsung only wished she weren't so damn accurate all the time. Not when he would've rather kept this a secret. From everyone, but most of all from Shao Kahn, and Mileena was sure to tell him all she knew.

"You've a gift for stating the obvious, girl," he said smoothly.

Mileena scowled at him, but not for long: she was far more interested in the Mirror. "What is it, exactly?" she asked.

"I don't know what you mean," Shang replied, deciding to go for the ‘innocent’ act.

She hissed at him, an eerily snakelike sound. "That's no ordinary mirror," she said. "It's way too--loud." She 'heard' magic as a whistling, shivering song, and the louder the song, the stronger the magic. "Besides," she went on, "If it were an ordinary mirror, you'd be preening in front of it."

Now it was Shang's turn to scowl.

"I do not preen," he muttered. "I care about my appearance, that's all."

"Uh-huh," Mileena said skeptically. "Right." She turned as if to leave and said, "Very well. I'll simply walk back upstairs and tell Father all about your little mirror-that-is-not-a-mirror."

"Wait!"Shang yelped, a good four notes higher than usual. He could snap the wench's neck with his bare hands, but facing Shao Kahn was something else again. If the Emperor realized his chief wizard was keeping secrets... Shang cleared his throat and forced himself to sound stern. "Wait, I said!"

"Tell me what the Mirror does, and I'll think about it," she said. He gave her a look that could've melted metal.

"All right, curse your pathetic soul!"he growled. It took him a moment to calm down.

Memories of his fall from the ledge of the Dragon Temple were still fresh in his head. Liu Kang had toppled him, sent him plummeting down onto the vicious hooked spikes rising up from the Temple floor.

Then, the Emperor had come, and healed him.

Even now, Shang could not say which was worse.

"The Mirror of Souls," he said at last. "No one's sure where it came from, or why it's here. Only one thing is certain: the Mirror is an object of vast power.

"It is a reflection of our world, though it reflects only what it wants to, and the way it wants to. Beyond that, I know very little. There aren't many legends concerning the Mirror, except that it is dangerous."

"I meant to ask you something," Mileena began. But whatever she had been about to say, it would have to wait.

High above, in the top of the Tower, bells announced the time. The bells, rather than echo into silence, instead gave out a low, mournful sound that reminded Shang Tsung of the screams of the dying.

"Mid-morning,"he said quietly. He had been dreading the arrival of this day for some time now.

There would be practice matches in the Courtyard, preparation for the Tournament against Earth's fighters tomorrow.

"At last," Mileena hissed. The Tournament had been long in coming, and it was finally here.

The pair of them paused to scowl at each other once more before striding silently up the stairs.

Mortal Kombat was about to begin...again...

Unnoticed by the two warriors, the Mirror once more shivered on its hinges.

****ing bastard twatting hype! I had a 700 word post typed up for Shang and the hype spazzed on me, lost every last word.

I'll get something up eventually :s

Ok, so I think I'm going to drop Kirk. Especially after the bastard who convinced me to pick him up bailed on Bones. :cmad:

But, I left him at a place where I can keep going with the story if I decide to pick him back up. Or if someone else does, they can just have Kirk and Spock return to the future with McCoy.

awesome I'll have a app up soon. Be prepared for excessive violence, nudity, and gore. :D

So you'll fit right in then, since those are the principles this RPG was founded on.

Character you'd like to portray: Kei Kurono

Superhuman powers, traits, other attributes of interest: Kei is your average horny, selfish, ******* of a teenager. That is until he and others are transported to the room with the black ball. There he is supplied with a suit that gives him super strength, speed, and durability. Along with the suit he is provided with weird weaponry.

Originally appearing from (which comic, and company?):GANTZ by Hiroya Oku. Originally published in chapster form in Weekly Young Jump magazine.

Fictional history of the character (as you're going to interpret it): I plan on starting the character over from the beginning and doing a loose retelling of everything thats happened. Any fan of the series knows that characters really don't last long here so some characters may stay around longer than they originally did. For Kurono I really want to show his transition from a selfish lonely guy into a hero. I know this isn't much of an explanation but trust me its better to come into this story without much knowledge of it.

Hero, Villain, or Walking the line?: Walking the line.

List a few reasons why you chose this character: I really want to play a character that is really the opposite of who I am in real life.

Write two complete sentences explaining what you can bring to this RPG:Hopefully a character that'll be interesting that people would enjoy reading. Did I mention there will be violence?

How many days a week you intend on posting in the RPG: Whenever possible.

Please provide a small sample post as your character, at least three paragraphs and one line of dialogue in length: "Police are still investigating the occurrence that happened here at this train station one week ago. Reports claim that after saving a bum that had fallen onto the tracks two teenagers were run down by a train that was approaching the station. Witnesses claim that they saw the poor teens being torn apart by the train yet when police arrived there was no trace of bodies or even a drop of blood. A police spokesman said that they are working with witnesses and checking security cameras but believe that this was the work of very talented pranksters. In other news..."

I turns the channel and tosses the remote aside with a sigh.

"Dammit..."

My name is Kei and I was one of those teenagers at the train station. And before anyone asks yes I did die that day. I felt my body being torn apart by the force of all that steel. Its amazing that its only been a week. To me it feels like a lifetime. My mind wanders back to that empty room and the black ball. Other memories flood my mind of that night. Memories of terror and pain. But the thing that frightens me more than anything from that night was how badly I want to go back....

A buzzing starts to intensify at the back of my brain signaling something that I've been wanting and dreading. Slowly I get to my feet and reach for the black suit shoved behind my dresser. The buzzing continues to grow louder as I stand in the middle of my small apartment.

"What the **** are you waiting for GANTZ! Take me!"

Slowly the top of Kei's head starts to disappear as if it was sliced off by some unknown attacker.

The gruesome teleportation continues until there is no sign of Kei Kurono.
