"From The Pages Of..." Comics Universe RPG: Season I Signup/OOC Thread

So, any of you ******s going to post anytime soon? And by ******s I mean Red Robin, Catman, Gallagher, and Nitemare Shape.

Boy, wouldn't it be swell if the two groups in Alaska ran into each other, and maybe almost killed one another?

Well...here I go again.

From The Pages Of... RPG APPLICATION

Screen Name: Carnage27

Character you'd like to portray: Leonardo

Superhuman powers, traits, other attributes of interest: Leonardo and his brothers are mutated turtles, each possessing super human agility, stamina, and slight super-human strength.

They have also been trained by their "father" Splinter in the ways of the ninja. Each are master hand-to-hand combatants.

Originally appearing from (which comic, and company?): Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from Mirage Studios

Fictional history of the character (as you're going to interpret it):
After witnessing his master, Hamato Yoshi, cut down in cold blood by the assassin Oroku Saki, Splinter, a common rat, escaped into the New York Streets. While wondering the sewers Splinter came in contact with a glowing, green ooze, which transformed him. The ooze caused him to grow into a human-sized rat, with the intelligence to match. Splinter found another canister of the ooze nearby, and kept it in order to guard his secrets.

Splinter used this transformation and the knowledge of ninjitsu he gained from his master and became an active vigilante operating in New York. That is until “the Purge.”

While heroes and villains were being killed, Splinter went into hiding in the city sewers, biding his time.

Three years after “the Purge” ended, Splinter saw a surface world that was broken and ravaged by sorrow. The weak and the innocent were preyed upon by those who would use the people’s pain for their own twisted gains.

Splinter scoured the city to find something, anything that he could use to form a new breed of hero, and he found it in the form of four baby turtles which had found their way into the sewers. Splinter gathered them up and exposed them to the same ooze that had created him. As he suspected they also began to grow, even larger than he did.

When they were old enough and strong enough to learn martial arts, Splinter began their training. He intended them to become champions of the weak and protectors of those that could not defend themselves.

Leonardo, the eldest brother, was to be the leader. Splinter instilled in the boy a strong sense of right and wrong. He was instructed in the use of the katana, and mastered the two handed form.

The Turtles have been spending the past few days fighting a supernatural invasion of New York.

Hero, Villain, or Walking the line?: Hero

List a few reasons why you chose this character: I love the Turtles, and I really enjoy writing Leo.

Write two complete sentences explaining what you can bring to this RPG: A player who has a love for the character, as well as someone who isn't in Alaska.

How many days a week you intend on posting in the RPG: As many as my school work allows.

Please provide a small sample post as your character, at least three paragraphs and one line of dialogue in length:

The city is in chaos. The past two days have seen more and more demons and monsters pour through interdemensional portals. Central Park is engulfed in a fire that is unquenchable. People are killed in their homes every hour by supernatural creatures. Citizens began fleeing the city yesterday...that is until all the exits of the city were blocked by demons.

And we are one of the few lines of defense for the people of New York. The police, SWAT, and National Guard have taken a stance of containment. But we know that will be ineffective. We've decided to take the fight to the beasts.

A lizard-like creature slumps to it's knees as I withdraw my katana from its spine, and it's small ally backs into the corner.

jerseydevilmonster2.jpg

It attempts to scramble up the wall, but I grab its tail and hang it in front of my face, "You're too organized to be brainless monsters. Who's the boss of the operation?"

The little red bastard spits in my face, and I return fire by slamming its head into the wall, "Talk! I know you can!"

Green blood begins to flow from a gash on the creatures head, and it whines out in a nasally, reptilian voice, "Okay, okay! No more."

"There, that wasn't too hard, was it? Who's calling the shots?"

"Our leader is the great General Krang, but we were called to this dimension by two human men."

"Who?"

"One we only know as The Shredder..."

The name sends a shiver up my spine. We figured he would profit from this somehow, but we had no idea that he was pulling all the strings.

"...and the other calls himself Rasputin."

That name is completely unfamiliar with me, but at least it's a name to work with. I put the little beast down, and turn to head back onto New York's darkened streets.

The red demon lunges at my back, and I spin with lightening quick relfexes, decapitating it with one of my swords.

Time to find out how to stop this madness.

Do you know how to post pictures on the Hype boards?:

Yeah, I'll be posting something soon. I've been sick as a dog the last few days...not that that's an excuse. I know I've been neglecting this game a bit, but I'll get something in possibly tomorrow

Well, seeing as how I haven't posted as Rorschach in a good long while. I'm dropping him.

Got another character I want to play.

From The Pages Of... RPG APPLICATION

Screen Name: Byrd Man

Character you'd like to portray: Colonel John "Hannibal" Smith

Superhuman powers, traits, other attributes of interest: No powers, but Hannibal is a master tactician. A former member of the Army, Hannibal is also an excellent shot with most manners of weapons.

Originally appearing from (which comic, and company?): The A-Team was a limited series that appeared in Marvel Comics, as well as The A-Team had a daily strip in the UK comic Look-In

Fictional history of the character (as you're going to interpret it):

Born in 1960, John Smith had a rowdy childhood and faced a jail sentence of 10 years for Grand Theft Auto when he was 18. The judge gave Smith a simple choice, either go to jail or join the army.

After enlisting and going through bootcamp, Smith rose quickly through the Army's ranks and his once rowdy behavior was channelled into an effective soldier and commanding officer. His tendency for sucessful battle tactics earned him the nickname Hannibal, after the famous leader.

In the late 80's, Smith joined the Army's Special Forces. His four-man commando team was made up of Lt. Templeton "Faceman" Peck, Captain H.M. "Howling Mad" Murdock, and Sgt. B.A. Baracus. Smith was commissioned as a Colonel when Iraq invaded Kuwait to start Operation:
Desert Storm.

At the end of the short conflict, the commando's commanding officer, Lt. Colonel Morrison, gave the team a job that would cripple the Iraqi government. Their mission was to rob the Bank of Baghdad, the government's main supply of gold and cash.

Their robbery was a sucessful one, with the four-man group stealing roughly a billion dollars in cash, valuables, and gold.

After the extraction, Hannibal was shocked to learn that the Lt. Colonel Morrison denied any knowledge of the robbery, and claimed the men had acted on their own accord. Hannibal and his men where charged with the crime and had to stand trial before a military trial board. While awaiting trial in Fort Bragg, the group escaped the base and fled into the night.

Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire... The A-Team.

Hero, Villain, or Walking the line?: Hero

List a few reasons why you chose this character: I love the A-Team and their adventures. I've been waiting for the movie for years, and it looks like that won't happen. So, I'll update their origin and have fun in this RPG.

Write two complete sentences explaining what you can bring to this RPG: I can bring a decent RPer with experience RPGs. Plus, I'm a fan of the A-Team and can bring some new stories to the RPG.

How many days a week you intend on posting in the RPG: Much as I feel like!

Please provide a small sample post as your character, at least three paragraphs and one line of dialogue in length:

Baghdad
January 1991

Here I am, deep behind enemy lines and on a Black Op so secret, only six other people know about it besides me. If we're caught, me and my team are up **** creek without a paddle.

Honestly, there's nowhere else I'd rather be.

It's 3 am here in Iraq's capital. The air-raid spotlights are off and the guards are almost asleep as I stand in the shadows across the street from the Bank of Baghdad. Inside its vault is the money that's the desert nation's life blood.

"Hannibal here. Give me a sit-rep," I say into the small mic on my wrist.

"Face to Hannibal, B.A. and I are in position."

"Murdock standing by on the outskirts of town. The bird is fueled and ready to fly."

I casually walk across the street to the bank's front door. Bending down, I slap a small device on the oak doors.

"Hannibal to team. Charge one is in position."

"B.A. to Hannibal. Charge is ready to go on the roof."

"Face, alarms?"

"Plugged in and ready to disable on your mark, Colonel."

I back up across the street with a small detonator in my hand.

"Okay. On my mark we all move...3.....2.......1....MARK!"

The front door explodes and tears open just as B.A. blows up the bank's skylight. From the fusebox outside the bank, Face disables the silent alarm that notifies the authorites that Uncle Sam's finest has their eyes set on Sadam's coin purse.

I sprint through the hole that the door left and slde to a stop as B.A. swings down from the skylight.

"Murdock, sit-rep!"

"Chopper is spinning, ready for pick-up on your mark."

B.A. and I leap over the counters and run down stairs into the bank's vault.

"Get the explosives ready," I say as I sling my backpack off.

"With all due respect, I ain't got no time for your jibba-jabba," he says as he places explosives over the vault.

"Sorry I'm late," Face says as he comes to a stop beside us and slings off his pack.

"B.A. charges are ready?"

"Yes, sir."

I look at my watch and then at the explosives.

"We've got ten seconds before this son of a ***** blows."

The three of us run back up the stairs as we cover our ears.

BLAM!

The explosion shakes the bank's foundation. If the silent alarm didn't alert the cops, this sure will.

"Murdock, get the bird in the air and meet us on the roof."

The three of us run back down the stairs and step over the debris.

The inside of the vault is stuffed with cash, jewels, and gold. So much, that I don't think we can carry it all.

By the time we've got it all loaded up into the bags, I can hear sirens coming and the sound of a chopper.

"Move out."

The three of us run up the steps. I have about six bags strapped on me, Face has eight. B.A. is the work horse with close to a dozen on his body.
I can hear Murdock's chopper thumping on the roof as we reach the broken out skylight.

"Face, you go first. B.A. you next, I'll bring up the rear."

"You go first, Colonel," Face says as he grabs the rope.

"That's an order, Lieutenant. Get your ass up that rope now."
He starts up, followed by B.A.

I'm halfway up when I hear the screech of tires. Cops and soldiers come running into the bank with weapons.

Well, I Guess I had a good run.

"Hold on, Colonel!" Murdock screams as I feel the rope jerk and pull me out of the skylight.

The chopper hovers a hundred feet above the bank with me dangling below. It takes B.A. about four tugs before I'm safely inside the chopper.

"Sorry about that, Colonel." Murdock says as he tilts the helicopter forward and speeds away from the bank.

"I know we had orders, but even the best soldiers know when to disobey orders."

I sit down in the co-pilot's chair and smile as I pull out a cigar and light it.

"I love it when a plan comes together."

Sample post up.

EDIT: Added some stuff to my App to show where I'm headed with my story.

BTW, I edited my first A-Team post. Felt like having them be vets of the first Gulf War might make them almost too old. So, they're vets of the second Gulf War, aka Iraqi Freedom.

Also, anyone who's interested in getting into the New York storyline after pretty much all the heroes leave Alaska, let me know.

Dammit! Don't leave me hanging! :csad:

Fine! :cmad:

Seeing as how Cobra just robbed Umbrella of their biological agents, and that you're A-Team is getting hired by them, mayhaps we can work something out for a small, bullet-riddled, gore filled arc?

Let's do it.
