Recently i've made my way through a great many comics thanks to a large amount of free time on my hands. In doing so I noticed that certain series or characters lack any wit or humour, which imo is kinda pointless for a comic book.
I like to laugh, it's probably the biggest reason I took to comic reading.
I'd like to know what characters or series you found particularly funny or amusing, or remarks that had you crack up for some reason or another.

Seeing as I made the thread I best list one or two that did it for me.

The Defenders. A 5 part mini came out in July of 2005. The story centred on Dr Strange, Namor and the Hulk trying to fight Dormammu and his somewhat ****ty sister Umar. The Silver Surfer is in this too although he spends all of his time hanging out with surfers believing them to be "his people." This one had me in tears of laughter, Namor and the Hulk arguing constantly, Strange and Namor sniping at one another and Umar and Dormammu having some (more than just simple) sibling rivarly. Oh and seeing Dormammu's sensitive side makes it worth a read and a giggle.

Cable and Deadpool is just too well written to not be put here. In this case it's mostly Deadpool making with the comedy but he does it perfectly.

Lastly, the x-babies (sad I know) these guys/kids dont have their own comic, at least not to my kowledge but the ones they do appear in were memorable. A little Scott Summers who is cowardly and has a lisp did it for me :oldrazz:

So, which ones had you laughing to tears? :yay:

Really? Only 7? I thought the whole thing was too funny to be taken seriously.

I thought the series that they did right before that (before it turned into "The Order" which was a drag) was very funny. I've never been a big Larsen fan, but I thought he was very good in this.

Wikipedia said:
In 2001-2002, The Defenders reunited in Defenders (volume 2) #1-12, immediately followed by The Order #1-6, in which Yandroth manipulated Gaia into "cursing" the primary four Defenders (Doctor Strange, the Sub-Mariner, the Hulk and the Silver Surfer) so that they would be summoned to major crisis situations. These members were then mind controlled by Yandroth into forming the world-dominating "Order"; once the Order were freed from this control by their fellow heroes (including their teammates Hellcat, Nighthawk and Valkyrie), the Defenders apparently disbanded.

Hmm, I don't think i've read that one. I'll have to get my hands on it. Are the Defenders normally so comical or was it just those two minis?

You can probably pick up that run pretty cheap, on ebay or somewhere.
