about what aes?
So, I'm starting to have nightmares.
Aesop is the king of ambiguity.
To make the long story short, my sister's husband chimed in with a bible verse from Corinthians, I apologized to my sister, and bowed out of the conversation. I am so angry right now that I'm shaking.
I just got into an argument on my oldest sister's facebook page. She made a comment about Facebook's inclusion of gay couples into their status' (in a domestic relationship with and in a civil union with). My sister claimed to not want to start a debate so all I said was that the inclusion of those statuses should have been there from the start. One of her friends chimed in about 'homosexuality should never be accepted in any way and is an abomination'. To make the long story short, my sister's husband chimed in with a bible verse from Corinthians, I apologized to my sister, and bowed out of the conversation. My sister's facebook status read something to the effect of "Now that Facebook includes gay status designation as options, I wonder if they could add an 'in a relationship with Jesus' designation. I'm not looking to start a debate..."
I responded with 'the gay designations should have been there from the start'. A friend of hers then chimed in with the 'homosexuality is an abomination and should never be accepted in any form' and then went on to tell me that she would like to 'talk to me about it'. I responded to my sister's friend with 'with all due respect, I have no desire to speak with you about this'. I then went on to say that 'god created everyone in his image and would never create someone to be considered an abomination. He would never create someone only for them to be condemned for the rest of their life. The God I believe in would never be that cruel. The only thing that seems debatable is what is christian and what is not. Judgement and condemnation are not very christian.' She responded again more forcefully and in all caps. Then my sister's husband chimed in with a Corinthian's verse.
I emailed my sister to apologize for turning her status update into a debate. I did not apologize for what I said. After that, she ended up deleting the entire conversation and her husband posted the exact same Corinthian's verse in a seperate post...followed by another post slamming me for not 'knowing what God's real truth is'.
And how can your sister be like that with 2 gay brothers?
Unless something has changed very recently, his sister only knows about the other brother, not Marx.
you shouldn't of apologized. You were standing up for your rights. Religious people can practice what they want, as long as they don't inflict there beliefs on others. And how can your sister be like that with 2 gay brothers? *mind boggled*![]()
well.... then Marx should probably step up. Can't help change the world without helping awareness. It'd be hard for her to want to disapprove of her 2 brothers imo.
I know you're angry, but you should feel great about the fact that they have no real argument against what you said. Perhaps you should respond with a Bible verse about loving thy neighbor and another one about how it's God's duty to judge, not man's![]()
Care to elaborate? Or are you going to leave us all hanging again?
How did she react to your brother's coming out or is she aware of his sexuality?...she isn't exactly high on my 'coming out' list. We aren't that close to begin with.
