Jessica Biel in Blade or in general would be ideal.
Not very fond of her face or acting ability so Gal Gadot is a come up in those parts. But yeah if she got her body close to JB's then she would be perfect.

Yeah body-wise of course.

someone doesn't know what 'Amazon' means and decided to cast without that knowledge.

YOU don't seem to know what the word 'Amazon' means.

DC's Amazons - based on most of the panels I've seen - have more or less the same body-frame and muscle tone and definition as Gal does, which brings me back to "she's perfect for WW just as she is".

Should Wonder Woman have a secret identity? Should she be Diana Prince yet? Or should she just always be Wonder Woman, like she was in the Justice League cartoon?

I remember when she showed up at that red carpet function in Kasnia (in the episode "Maid of Honor") dressed very glamorously in an evening gown. People didn't suddenly stop thinking she was Wonder Woman just because she wasn't in costume. Everyone marvelled "look, it's Wonder Woman", and she was mobbed by journalists, only to be saved by Bruce Wayne who asked her to dance.

So should she be Wonder Woman: Ambassador to the Western World? Or should she try to disguise herself as Diana Prince?

Actually, I think WW did adopt the Diana Prince identity once in Justice League. It might've been the one where she did that spin which was a homage to the Lynda Carter TV show. But she was permanently WW for most of the time without the need for a secret identity.

I've never been a fan of the secret identity for Wonder Woman. It makes sense for Batman to have one and for Superman to have one, but Wonder Woman always seemed like the kind of person, Amazonians in general I guess, to just not give a crap.

Yeah I kind of agree. Her body frame is not as small as people are saying it is.

People are overreacting, as usual, and using photoshopped magazine modeling photos (which even make women like Melissa McCarthy look thinner) as examples for how skinny Gadot is.

To me, she is perfect as is. And there is literally no doubt that once she actually starts training for the film and begins her new ass-kicking diet, she'll at least naturally add a couple of pounds of additional muscle mass, after which I'm sure she will still look absolutely perfect.

There's no need for her to actively attempt to "bulk up" (can't believe people are saying that) or gain weight. WW's femininity is one of her defining traits and something that truly sets her apart from other members of the JL. Her overall power is irrespective of her appearance, after all. She doesn't necessarily need to look as if she can lift a man over her head, but she'll be able to do that regardless.

IDK because that might be good for her own solo movies but for this one it would be doing to much IMO because you have to set up not just one but two new characters in an already packed to the max movie. I think it would be best to just have the ambassador route to minimalize things. It would make sense also. Would be cool to see an Aquaman cameo where he her are in a united nations meeting talking about how their world are to integrate with humans. But that might be best left for JLA TBH.

Well, the only main reason for it would be because of the iconic spin to change into her WW costume. But even that can be achieved without the need for a secret identity. In Justice League, Diana used that really just to change out of her business clothes, but it wasn't like she wasn't still Wonder Woman at the time.

Compare that with the WW TV show. If she didn't perform that spin, then she was powerless as Diana and could easily be captured. It was as if she hadn't turned into WW, rather than it being a means by which to change clothing.

I definitely don't want that element of the show in this movie where she doesn't have super strength (or flight, if they give her that ability) full time. WW should never be like the Hulk (or She-Hulk) where she has to transform to gain the super strength and power.

I never liked the idea of Wonder Woman having a secret identity. But for this film in particular, maybe. A lot of people talked about how she might be in it but only reveal herself as a powerful closer to the end of the film. It seens reasonable to me.

According to info I found, the average height of DC's Amazons is between 5'9" and 6'0", and the average weight of DC's Amazons is between 120 and 150 lbs.

Guess what, people... Gal Gadot is 5'9" and 120 lbs. IOW, she's PERFECT for WW just as she is.

You mean a Zack Snyder treatment:cwink:

Possibly. I liked how he used (or maybe he didn't) the words "most powerful" in his statement about Wondie's casting.

I don't believe Diana is as powerful as Supes, but with her fighting skills, she can stand up to him in a fight. And that was what I saw in Faora.

That, and how amazingly she killed every soldier on screen.

That's something I'm hoping for as well, that she hasn't revealed herself to the world yet until she absolutely needs to.

It'll just have to depend on whatever story they're telling.

But, I'm pretty sure they won't have her with three identities like that TV pilot...

That was terrible. And the way they had Diana holding up that doll and talking about how she doesn't have as big **** as it. What were they thinking? WW would never speak so crudely like that. BTW, am I allowed to say "****" here? That was the word used in the pilot dialogue.

But as bad as that was, Tanit Phoenix's audition of the same scene was even more horrendous.

I think Gal is absolutely beautiful. But I'm one of those guys that can find beauty in many different shapes of women. However, That being said, I would like to see her put on some weight and muscle for the film.
Some of the WW pics I have seen posted here she does have a striking resemblance.

I'll admit, she would not have been my first choice if I were casting this film, but I think she can look the part. But I cannot comment on her acting abilities as the only films I have seen her in were the last three fast and the furious films.

It was one of those things that you has to see to believe it. At least for me it was. My general reaction was "Yeah, ok. That sounds bad. Hahaha." But, seeing Phoenix's audition and then seeing the actual scene in the pilot... "weird" is the nicest thing I think I can say about that version of the character. :oldrazz:

Of the three women who auditioned, I think Gal Gadot has the easiest name to pronounce and catchiest. Also, it's more of this comic book alliteration like Lex Luthor, Lois Lane, Clark Kent (same sound there if not letters), Peter Parker, Bruce Banner etc.

I didn't even think about that.

It is interesting that of the three names WB let out, none of them are American.

Of the three who auditioned, I think Gal is by far the most beautiful. I'm surprised she actually got it though, since she was arguably the least well known, and twig thin. I'm always amused when people complain about actors' bodies before they start shooting though. As if they are not going to prepare or work out or anything.

Gal Godot as WW - cautiously optimistic, probably one of the better choices so far. Don't believe me? In the past, WB wanted Sandra Bullock in the role, then officially (100%) offered it to Jessica Biel in George Millers JL: Mortal, which eventually went to model Megan Gale. We've also had Adrianne palicki on TV. All hot women (Bullock included), only 1 can act. NONE fit the role of the exotic Amazonian woman.

That brings up another point. 4 candidates were up for the role of WW - Jaimie Alexander, Gal Godot, Olga Kurylenko and Elodie Yung. At the risk of sounding prejudiced, do you notice the odd one out? Apart from Alexander, all the other actresses tested had foreign looks. So why was JA in the mix? Was she a studio choice (like Katie Holmes in BB or Garner in Daredevil), due to the potential success of Thor? If true, that means Godot was The FILMMAKERS choice (Like Craig for Bond, or Bale for Batman). Hmm...

I think she was the most beautiful too. In fact, I'd say she is one of the most beautiful actresses cast in a comic book movie.

I don't think Alexander was ever really up for the role. If so, it was a long time ago.

I won't name sites, but they suggest that Alexander WAS considered, but dismissed because of a conflict with her Marvel contract, and Godot was the favourite since at least a month ago.
