Hopefully Gal is great in this movie to carry WW. I want her to do well.

You really like this picture don't you? You're posting it for the third time in two pages. :woot:

By the way I agree about her stance, but I mostly posted this picture here because of her expression. I found that she can easily look fierce and authoritative without seeming like she tries too hard to pull that off, which is something I think of as a gift for this role.

That expression on her face in this picture emits calm authority, she seems approachable and friendly, but at the same time you're well aware that there'll be immediate repercussions if you get on her bad side.

I'm more and more understanding why Snyder cast her.

Yes, I do love it! :awesome: And you've perfectly described what I think when I see this pic!

I also think she also exudes a sort of goofy adorable quality to her from the interviews i've seen. She stunning but you could just as easily see her as a Sandra Bullock type who's the sort of the goofy and pretty at the same time.

Really, I don't get much of a goofy vibe from her at all. Light-hearted or humorous at times, maybe. But not really goofy.

That's a really special quality that Gal has. I think some other actresses do seem like they're trying too hard. Adrianne Palicki was one such actress who put on this scowl as WW and gave off this tough ***** vibe, which is exactly what you don't want for Diana. Diana should still seem like a princess, and Adrianne didn't as WW.

The calm authority and everything else you described in that paragraph is what Diana should have.

Why do you guys continue to post such amazing pics of this beautiful Angel? are you trying to kill me? :funny:

Interesting... I don't find her to be goofy a la Sandra Bullock at all. Maybe a bit bubbly, at least in some interviews I've seen, which is, though commendably positive, a personality trait I don't really care much for, but she does possess a certain warmth about her and has also shown that she doesn't necessarily have to be jubilate all the time, but can also act classy, which will be needed for this role.

Indeed, I guess it's something you're either born with or not.

It's all those things that are important for Wonder Woman and which Gal Gadot possess that people complaining don't and can't see. Since most of them have vaguely any idea what makes that character in the first place, they are simply joining the mass in bit**ing, since that's what they believe is expected of them. They know that Wonder Woman should be big, constantly tough-looking female warrior who is, by the way, blessed with breasts big enough to feed all the hungry children of Africa. Or at least that's what they heard from their friends and read on the internet.

They don't even have a fraction of imagination to fancast someone else, but blue-eyed brunette they've already seen as a mythological warrior in a superhero movie - Jamie Alexander.

And that thing Palicki did was certainly completely opposite of what Diana should be like, but that entire show made her be something completely else. It's like the script was written for character of Catwoman or, even more fitting, Huntress, and then they decided to put Wonder Woman instead.

So I wouldn't put a blame on Palicki that much, to be honest that show didn't necessarily told me that she would be a bad Wonder Woman, just that executives butchered the character and left her to work with that. She might be able to play it more subtly, but that series were as far as possible from subtle approach.

And as a fitting conclusion, I must notice that fan favorites Jamie Alexander also never seemed able to look confident and fierce without putting the scowl like Palicki did in that terrible show.

qft?

Sorry, I'm not very familiar with internet slang.

the backlash Affleck, Gadot, and Eisenberg have received is so ridiculous, i have no doubt they're all going to knock it outta the park, and at this point imo it's undeniable how much they resemble the characters.

Agreed. Admittedly, Eisenberg wasn't one of my picks for Luthor but nevertheless I'm expecting him to do good.

Btw, was reading an article about the whole filter thing on Gal's WW picture & if that is the case I hope we get a pic that showcases the real colors soon.

Although I'd be perfectly fine if there was no filter & those are in fact the real colors of the suit.

Ah, thanks.

I was actually thinking it's something else entirely. :woot:

That's why I myself never use that stuff....I want people to always know what I am saying.

Given the New 52 love, I gather they'll be going with the demigoddess, daughter of Zeus angle rather than the old school clay sculpted/life breathed into by the gods. Whenever they get around to chronicling her origin, that is.

Yeah, me too.

Though I am aware that people who go on forums usually aren't that obsolete and unfamiliar with all those little things that a internet user from 21st century should know, like I am, I usually try to avoid that, because I know how complicating and frustrating it can be when you come across bunch of abbreviations and be like "huh!?", which still happens quite often to me, as it can be seen here. :woot:

You know, I was completely against the "sculpted from clay" approach, as I believed it would never work, until I saw Wonder Woman animated movie. There was something so beautiful, ritualistic and divine in that scene that now I'd actually prefer to see that instead of "daughter of Zeus" approach.

Sounds great to me. Azzarello's Wonder Woman run is the best take on the character that I've ever read. I don't know if that's a popular opinion, I know people love what Gail Simone and George Perez did. Both of those writers are great too, but Azzarello's take is definitely my favorite.

I love the way the sculpted from clay origin was incorporated into the new demigod origin in order to keep Wonder Woman safe from Hera's wrath.

And the fact that the Olympian gods are now part of her family just makes her mythology so much stronger, and her connection to her supporting cast/rogues gallery grew much stronger as well.

There IS a filter. and those AREN'T the real colors, there's beyond any doubt a very strong brown filter over the image and the real colors are buried under it. All that can be said about the real colors is they're some shade/hue of red, blue, and gold.

I've been loving Azz's take on WW too. My only complaint is sometimes it feels like Diana is a guest star in her own book. And as much as I love the Greek gods, I miss several classic WW villains too. Those baddies would've benefited from Azz's touch. Anyway, apparently Azz is gonna throw a wrench in what we thought was Diana's origin. Clay? Daughter of Zeus? Something else? He's got a surprise coming. I can't wait!

My three fav runs were Perez, Rucka and Azz. If possible, I'd love for the DCMovieverse to incorporate the best elements from those three writers and then include a new twist. Innovation and reinvention is the key to keeping any character relevant.

I loved the origin there, but I'm not as put off by the new origin as I thought I'd be; I tend to be jaded. That movie is good stuff though. Served as a nice basis to what a solo effort could be. Jazz it up a bit, but a sound base.

I do like the stronger connection to the Olympians and what that brings about. Puts another spin on her traditional relationship with Ares. The thing about the classic origin being tied to Hera was a nice touch too, particularly how it ties into the tellings of Hera's crazy (yet justified) jealously issues with Zeus' cavorting.

Gal Gadot is a boss. Her personality is soo Diana. So much charm and charisma. You can tell she is a very kind hearted down to earth person.
