I was being facetious :cwink:

I agree with all your points. This board is full of over bearing know it alls that clutch so anxiously to 'their' renditions of these iconic characters that they lose sight of a much broader picture. In a movie with a certain number of main characters that's also being produced for mass consumption some nuances and subtleties will be lost. All Snyder needs to do is adapt a good portrayal of a set of characters and to be congruent with the spirit of those characters.

People nitpicking about Gadot's bicep size and Affleck's age don't deserve the privilege of seeing these characters together in live action because they're obviously not concerned about the aggregate integrity of that character's portrayal. They're concerned about their own personal wishes and will condemn a director who doesn't pander to their needlessly pedantic personal preference. There is no creature on earth as quick to b**** and moan than a DC CBM fanboy. Nothing will ever be enough, and everything must be dissected.
If this were facebook I'd like your post 1000 times.

While she is skinny, she's not, "skinny as ****," nor is she the same size as she was before she was cast for the role.

She has made progress and I hope she continues. It's like no matter how she's changed a little, people always see that pic on the left in the comparison photo.

That is progress. She looks much better.

Using derogatory phrasing to incite reaction and repeating yourself over and over is very much what is defined as trolling. Lets move on guys.

So, is the "T" really silent in her name? I thought it wasn't.

T is not silent in Gadot. " Gah dot". I think I read it means a beach or riverbank in Hebrew. Check Wikipedia on me, I'm fading out...

Indicating that if Gal would have been any bigger, the suit would have looked off and not complemented her? At first glance that just comes off as making excuses for her shortcomings.

I think Gal's at the bare minimum of an acceptable Diana (she's skating the line), but she's a far cry from being ever looking bulky. She could add another 20 pounds and I'd still doubt she risks being too big for the part. I know we're at the point of beating a dead horse here, but I did feel compel to comment. It's just I've never seen such rallying for a slender Diana. Never in the all the years I've followed and participated in the Wonder Woman discussions.

It's great Gal has her supporters. And I'm not necessarily targeting you here, but I am shocked at the amount of revisioning going around the web in her defense. Cavill, it was obvious he fit the mold of people's ideal Supes. His fan support dating back a decade supports this. Even Ben, who had a lot of flack thrown at him, on paper still physically looks like a damn great Bruce. But then we move to Gal, and I'm seeing how the bar was changed for her. Like she was the sort of actress/woman we had been pining to be cast all this time. With all the bickering (amongst the fanbase) I think it's very clear she's not. Which is completely fine by the way, because really the same thing could be said for Heath. But instead of championing a new direction and vision for Diana, I get the sense her fans are perceiving Gal to be literally ripped from the pages. And I can't help but be confused at that.

Eh, could be the cynic in me. Sorry for the rant. It's late. :o

It's the fact that they went with ARMOR. Not a shrink wrapped skintight job like Superman's outfit. And it's a female character IN ARMOR so it partially explains why they went with a slim actress to begin with. I personally was looking at Jaime Alexander before the announcement, but I was concerned because Jaime is so skinny! (But the Sif armor hid that)

So the armor direction can POTENTIALLY get bulky looking...not saying GAL will get too big (we all know that's not logical). I was pointing out the balance needed to pull it off. And they did. Remember what I've said before-add and pad. She added, they padded :word:

But both Zack Snyder and Lynda Carter both pronounced it as "gah do" in their ice bucket videos.

EDIT: Watching it again Snyder does pronounce it as "gah dot" he just pronounced the "T" very quietly.

And Lynda is pronouncing it incorrectly.

The correct pronunciation is the way Gal herself pronounces it:

Snyder's video was making me wonder. But, I listened to it again and he says it quietly and quickly while going into the next word of his sentence.

Now people are saying other people don't deserve to watch BvS because their preferences don't line up with Snyder's?

This thread :funny:

Well regardless, we all know all the haters will watch it anyway :cwink:

While that seems a bit exaggerated, the comment about the nitpicking is very true. It's unbelievably, sadly true, especially over things we won't even care for once we see the movie!

Lmao...nice way to twist what I actually said. I was quite particular about the kind of people I was referring to. Using 'their preferences don't line up with Snyder's' must be the understatement euphemism of the year.

Like you say: This thread...

For those who find some things hard to understand, please let me explain it simply.....

When a staff member says to stop a line of conversation....it does NOT mean continue it....it means STOP IT.

Well, I can assure you that this is definetly Gal! :P Amazing drawing done by Fritz Gerard.
