For those who haven't seen it, I think something like this would be ideal.

I quite like that, though I would prefer her to wear

NO!!!!I bet they won't even show how. The costume changes will just happen off-screen (like in MoS).
What are grieves?I would prefer her to wear grieves rather than just straps over the calves.
I quite like that, though I would prefer her to wear grieves rather than just straps over the calves. The demi-cape hanging from her belt is also a bit weird- it reminds me of a barman wearing a tea-towl.
The straps add more of a classical look to the entire outfit. If we were to even get shots of Themyscira, I'd like to see them wearing shoes like that.
Which is why I like greaves. Made out of dyed red leather, they would echo the classic boots while still making sense with the rest of the Hellenic outfit. Strappy sandals would be fine for weekends or whatever, though. I would really like to see Diana in the flowing white robes that form the "civilian" wear of her culture, too.
Do you want greaves and sandals, or boot-like greaves that are also shoes? I'm not familiar with the classical look. So I'm trying to imagine this in my mind.
I too want to see her in the robes, but that would be mean they'd have to introduce Themyscira, which I don't think will work for this film IMO.
Raven...I like the second one best...sans the stripper shoes though...lol
That could be true...and I think it would work. Not if she just wears the white robes in her downtime as something she brought along with her to the western world.
I think either type of footwear would work for WW. I think the Greek look though is open-toed sandals, but that obviously isn't quite the comic WW red boot look. She could have more than one type of footwear.
Well...they are cute in a "I'm about to strut" kind of way, but I just can't imagine Amazons in heels. I hate the fact she wears them in the comics. Heels are so impractical for fighting. I mean really they are...ever seen girls fight in heels? The fight usually ends on the ground in a rolling match.Stripper shoes? lol, I thought those are just Hellenic sandals. Aren't they normally strappy like that? Of course, they wouldn't have heels though.
Something like one (or all) of these?

I think greaves and sandals are probably the way to go. Closed-toed boots, like trousers/pants/leggings, constitute barbarian costume from a Hellenic perspective.Do you want greaves and sandals, or boot-like greaves that are also shoes? Currently, my favoured costume would consist of:
"Soft armour" cuirass in deep red leather, with a gilt eagle emblazoned on it.
Navy blue leather strap "battle skirt", with generic metal studs interspersed with star shaped studs sewn on, echoing the classic star-spangled trunks.
Deep red leather greaves, over sandals.
Steel gauntlets on the forearms, couples with rings below the shoulder.
I am undecided about headwear. I would love to see how Weta or the like could develop the tiara into a new design, though.
^^I have a pair of sandals exactly like one of those pair and I forgot I had them. They are definitely being worn this coming summer. Yes...I like them. Fashionable but traditional.
I understand the gauntlets, but what do you mean by rings below the shoulder?
The kind of bangles that Indian women traditionally wear above the elbow or bicep. I think that they would compliment the gauntlets while contributing to a more exotic look, and counteracting the impression that she is naked from the armpits upward.
Women have wedding dresses that are bare shouldered. I don't see it has to be a sexual look. It's not like those wedding dresses look ****ty.
Heck! I might have the one with the wings too with some costumes that are in the garage...lol. As for exposed feet, I have no problem with showing skin, or the feet. I don't think she should be covered head to toe in a burka. In fact, I actually think open-toed sandals do make her look more like an Amazonian warrior and adds to the sexiness. Sometimes is can be little things like opened toed shoes that build allure. It doesn't have to be a heavy handed in your face boobfest.Which one above? The one with the ankle wings?
WW can have something like that. Even if she wore boots, they don't need the heels. I agree that the heels aren't very practical for fighting. The only reason I can see them adding heels is to give WW some extra height, which she can't fake in flats. But then Gal is quite tall anyway.
So you'd be okay with open-toed sandals with so much of her feet exposed for WW?
I totally see it. And that Jim Lee redesign of Huntress' costume is truly one of the worst ideas in comics. Period. Are you a bulletproof super-hero? Well, you get to show off your soft white underbelly to the world, because bullets bounce off you. Every body else? COVER THE HELL UP!! *note: Not applicable to Diana, Warrior Princess of the Amazons. She could catch a bullet if she wanted to.
