Galactus was in the first movie?

I hope it's a lie. Avi said this in a interview:

IESB: We talked about it earlier today, the announcement of Laurence Fishburne being the voice of the Silver Surfer, Fox has said that they don’t know if Galactus will even have a voice, can we address the rumor that Galactus is a giant cloud or something like that, is there any truth to those rumors?

Arad: You know, that’s why they call them rumors (laughter), you will see more than a cloud, you will have enough Galactus to rejoice (laughter).

I;m betting that the cloud in FF2 will be the "carrier nimbus" that John Byrne refers to in FF #257 (vol.1), page 9, panel 3:yay:

Interesting! Do you know of any other references to the "carrier nimbus"?

*waits for that panel to show up in the "caption this" thread*

yeah I mean the one thing I always kinda liked about IDF... was the way the big ships came in...all fire and smoke like a giant..could

why becuase they were hot from entry into our atmospheare... Galactus's arival could be very much the same

I think so. Will research and post this evening.

Ok, so someone suggested that Galactus was near Earth when the cloud that turned the four into their fantastic selves, but Galactus didn't come snack on Earth because he was full. So, if he had just eaten and he had the normal gasteric reaction to eating, then the cloud that got Ben, Johnny, Reed, Sue and Doom must have been from Galactus passing gas.

Just so you know, I was up late last night reading a really good book and so I'm working on about 3 hours sleep here. I'm going to go take a nap now.

>^^<

Light from distant stars reaches Earth every day... after many light years of travel.

Isn't it fair to say that the cosmic energy generated from Galactus devouring a planet might not travel the same distances?

I hope, really hope that was not Galactus. I'm still holding out the hope that these "clouds" are just tools used by Galactus.

I think he meant, what we are all hoping, that the cloud was the same type of thing we are hearing, and that Galactus is indeed within, behind, in the distance....

I'm betting on that.
The sudden acceleration of the radiation cloud in the first film was in response to its detection of living beings (the Von Doom space station).
The Surfer is probably just following up on the cloud probe's discovery.

That's my guess anyway.

I don't recall that the cloud in question was purple...

I'm still hoping the "cloud" is just essentially Galactus's essence or the device in which he feeds

When I think of the cloud from this movie, I think of the V'Ger ship from the 1st Star Trek movie. Massive, had to be measured in astonomical units, & very cloud-like with a ship at the center.

I hope Galactus is a storm cloud in FF2. Thats closer to the better version from Ultimate FF. Galactus is a big pinata in the comics that would look even more embarressing on film.

Ultimate FF was trash and Gah Lak Tus was the most faithless, pathetic bastardization of Galactus ever seen in comic. Even Omnipotus was better than Gah Lak Tus.

Gah Lak Tus is utter tripe and reviled by the vast majority of comic readers.

Testfy!

Its only fitting that a bold and courageous move like Gah Lak Tus would be hated by closed-minded American comic book fans. Most non-yank fans cherish the Warren Ellis improvement of pinata man. GROW UP. Go occupy another nation or eat some fast food.

So, you're not really FROM Texas, are you? I mean, you're just visiting from somewhere, right?
