It was recently said (but I can't remember where) that this arc is only the beginning of the gang war. This arc was about Tombstone being brought down a peg as a result of a feud with his competition. Now the real gang war between the different factions can begin. The gang war itself is said to spill over into season 3 (so let's hope we get a third season).

Wow that would be great... they could even throw Jack O'Lantern and Hobgoblin in the mess.

I know about the sides :( It's really annoying. There's a lot that's been cut off. Sometimes characters, their faces and expressions cannot be seen if they're not in the center of the shot.

Ok, I just saw this episode on YouTube. Man oh man, this episode rocked my socks. It was so awesome.

First of all, Doc Ock, my favourite Spidey villain was brilliant. I was so jazzed to see him in the tux, very reminiscent to those snazzy armani suits he started wearing in the 90's. Ock was a demon in the 4 way battle with Spidey, Tombstone, and Silvermane. He was grabbing ANYONE and slamming them, and tossing them around like rag dolls. And his double crossing bastard side shone thru when he turned on Silvermane as well. My favourite part is when Silvermane was taken out of the fight, and Ock decided to kick a dog while it's down and started using his spinning blade tentacles to kill Silvermane. I love it :D
And Ock's hate for Spidey is sooooooo intense. I love how he recognized in mid battle that Spidey was the biggest pain in the ass to all of them, and that they should kill him first before they settle their own scores.

Speaking of the battle, it's now my favourite battle of the series so far. Even edging out the amazing Sinister Six battle in Group Therapy. Silvermane's battle suit was pretty cool. And I love how Spidey used his scientific intelligence to figure out it's weakness. And did I mention the opera music playing throughout it rocked? Oh yeah, it rocked. Seriously this fight was just amazing. I love how it shifted location several times, lots of civilains in danger, Captain Stacy and the Cops watching etc. Just fab.

This episode had a perfect balance of drama to compliment all the action. The Valentines day stuff with the teens was brilliant. I really did feel sorry for Liz when Peter left, but actually apologized to Gwen. Mark was right to say what he did to Peter at the end. I really like the Mark character.

As for the cliffhanger, I'm very glad to see Goblin back again. Bring on his three episode arc. Can't wait.

This episode was definitely a 10/10. My second favourite episode after Shear Strength. Fantastic!

First of all this arc is called a gangwar but is the beginning of it, with the fall of Tombstone, rise of Hammerhead, and showing that Doc Ock and Gobby are in the mess and so is Silvermane (from spoilers). The final arc will proberbly be on Tombstone trying to regain his empire from the Hamster and if we get season 3 we will definately get more drama. My theory is Foswell knows who Bigman is but works for Toomes as he could have been bribed or whaatever not to tell the public who he is.

Where is it on you tube? Can someone post a link.

If that's so, then I shall be more than happy to take back my opinion that the War felt too quick and unsatisfying.

^Thanks Joker, all I could find was the fight, not that it wasn't awesome but I like to see the whole episode.

I saw this episode on youtube. It was pretty good especially the fight scenes. Between doc ock who this time i think went all out and tombstone. They was all pretty good also silvermane. Poor peter i guess he had it coming between him and liz. Any way

Welcome back Goblin!!!! :gg:

i just saw it and ....wow. How beautiful was that episode. Hammerhead was amazingly villainous and the real mastermind is revealed. I felt sooooo bad for Liz. Peter can be really stupid sometimes. Dock Ock and Tombstone were marvelous, shame that silvermane finally appears and just goes back to jail. Suit reminded me of the ox one in proberble cause. Seems Mark ain't as nice as he looks. I think the what will make Harry snap (if he is gg) would be gwen dumping him. Tombstone and Spidey finally fight!!!!

10/10

^Mark wasn't mean, he was just protecting Liz.
Other than that I agree with your review.

I meant that because of him and his relations with Blackie.

I'm not sure if this episode beats "Shear Strength", but it's on par with it. "Gangland" is a doozy of an episode. For some reason, I found the start of the fight hilarious, probably because the opera music made it feel really offbeat and random. Great episode, and I suspect that I'll enjoy it even more the second time around. Flash and Jonah were hilarious and the dialogue was great. Hammerhead really suckered Silver Sable, making her think they were going to kiss; she clearly still carries a torch for him, since she wavered when she was going to shoot him. But what did he inject her with? It looked like the gene cleanser container. Oh, and Peter's "Gwen, you look like an angel" line was based on a similar line from the first Spiderman movie, right?

Thanks for the link Joker.

I really wish a the season was longer than 13 episodes long. How many episodes is Wolverine and the X-men getting? Like 20 something?

I think 24-26

Season 1 of Wolverine and the X-Men was 26 episodes long. That's the two seasons of SSM combined. Pity that it wasn't as awesome.

it was a great episode fight scenes and all, but where was Black Cat? She made one appearance last season and a cameo this season. People love this character so they need to show us more of her. Hopefully she goes to Spidey and tells him in advance about the ending to gangland.

Oh Spidey's very last battle wuz freakin sweet! Just wish I could've seen Black Cat vs. Silver Sable......oh well. Maybe next arc or next season Black Cat will actually appear, more than once.

Okay, this has to be the best episode of the show ever. 10/10.

What made it so was the juxtaposition of the opera with the fight. That is art right there. That's beyond anyhting I've seen in a kids show before. Who else would of done that? Just perfect.

GG's back! Yes!

He finally kicks and punches Doc Ock, and he focuses hard enough to defeat Tombstone! This was a good episode. And the best part is they didn't kill off Capt. Stacey. 9/10 I didn't really like the Silvermane thing. But oh well.

Now that was a GREAT episode. The fight was very intense, plus the opera music acctually went with it well. Tombstone was holding his own against Ock and Silvermane despite the only one without some sort of mechanical assistance. The ending with the one pulling the strings was GREAT. This show NEEDS a third season so bad just to flesh this arc out even more...this is just the start. Silvermane has been taking care of himself pretty well for someone I guess is about atleast 60...but then again I wouldn't expect a mobster who's been in jail for 12 years atleast to be frail and skinny. Poor Liz, Peter paying attention to Gwen more than her must have struck her pretty hard.
