Well, I just watched the ep. And all I got to say is did you all see how bad@ss Doc Ock was in this ep. There were a lot of scenes that stood out for me but I actually was on the edge of my seat when Ock was about to finish old Silvermane, OMG. I for one could not wait for this arc as it stood out for me when they released the descriptions and I would say this one ep was worth the wait.

Doc Ock is the truth and there is no doubt in my mind that Doc Ock in TAS could not hold a candle to this SOB. Imagine the confrontation between him and Spidey should they meet again. Talk bout bad blood. Spidey has ruined his plans far too many times and you feel like there will be hell to pay next time. 10/10

Just one question, what the hell happen to Vulture? Don't tell me he was unconscience the whole time. Did he get shot or what?

At the party place, did anyone notice that the dude who proposed to the chick and said yes, were they the same people who Spidey webbed up together in season 1, they both blushed, it might have been in the Rhino episode.

Wow, all of the reviews are great! Getting me more hyped for this episode! But, first thing first: I have to finish watching "Probable Cause."

I feel sorry for liz, pete has treated her terribly. I get the feel she (liz) and harry will end up together like they did in the comics.

Yes, they are the same couple from season one in episode "Reaction." I mentioned this at the start of this thread.

10/10

Jesus, where to start?

I guess character development because they really took it up a notch and brought so many things full circle.

Hammerhead- Finally betrays a man he seemed to have undying resPect for back in Season 1. It seems he might have struck a deal with Gobby back in Uncertainty Principle. He still seems to fancy Sable but as they're both double crossing mobsters, it ain't easy.

Tombstone- It's the end of L. Thompson Lincoln; Philanthropist. Where does the former big man go from here?

JJJ- Aside from us meeting his wife Joan (wow, really?) he just sort of played himself as a running joke in this ep. Still, it was him at his best. And that scene with him and Hobie was hilarious.

Dude who "can thank sPidey later"- OMG him and hot girl are getting married! XD

Mark Allen: Though the Blackie Gaxton ties make me susPicious, he was a pretty solid dude getting all the girls at the table flowers and laying down the law to Peter Parker in defense of his little sis.

Flash Thompson: Wow, is this the same guy from season one? Bravo, Mr. Thompson, bravo.

Gwen: What the--!? Gwen was hot!? Since When!?

AILF May & Doc Bromwell: I wonder if he'll give her another ride?

Doc Ock: His awesomeness has already been clearly established so moving on...

Liz: My heart goes out to you.

Silvermane: I wasn't sure what to make of the hydraulic suit at first but in retrosPect it worked. When you're looking to take back what's yours from the marble-skinned upstart who took it away from you in the first place and a self proclaimed "evil genius" who sPent the past few months creating the most scientically advanced "super villains" ever, you're going to HAVE to up your game. Otherwise, it's the fate of Ultimate Silverman who sPent two pages talking to Hammerhead before betting his neck snapped.

The whole thing with Hammerhead was somewhat confusing to me; the way he just left the room while Sable holding the gun at him and then lowering it... I didn't get that part.
Hammerhead makes the point that the hierarchy is about to change in the underworld and that he'll be one of the main men so attacking him is a bad idea.

I think this only happened in the last episode when he meets Norman again on orders from Tombstone after being berated by him.

Was Hobie Brown at the opera?
Yes and he's shushing JJ, LOL!

Where was this mention of this merely being the start of longer gang war storyline? I don't remember seeing anything on this...

Sounds great i just opened up the yt links for the episode myself and waiting for them to load up so i can watch the episode for myself.

Was Hobie Brown at the opera?

Yeah, he was sitting in front of Jonah. He was complaining about his "Fershluggener" seat when Hobie Brown, who was sitting right in front of his wife (small world?) turns to him and puts his finger to his lips. Before he can even shush Jonah, our favorite curmudgeon yells "ZIP IT! PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO HEAR!" It was probably the best "Shut up, Hobie" moment the show's had.

I agree, Peter really did come off as a jerk and not even being Spidey really excuses this one. Hopefully he'll grow up a bit in relationships after this. I do feel bad for MJ knowing what will happen to Mark in a while, though will he be another OsCorp creation or will they go for the "random accident" origin of the comics (even the "thief" origin?). Maybe they'll combine it with the Bennet Brant story and have Spidey be involved so Liz blames him for it.

They keep setting Harry up for a fall huh? First he's an outcast from the in-crowd again because Flash outed his Globulin use and Gwen keeps taking Peter's side when Harry disagrees.

I still think Harry is the Goblin, but under Norman's control. This Norman doesn't come off as the type to dress himself up, but he's definately the type to use anyone (even his son) as a weapon/face.

The Initial Gang War is over, but now all the minor baddies who stayed under the radar due to Tombstone will be coming out of the woodworks for a piece of the city.

Wow! That episode was unbelievable! Tombstone, Doc Ock, and Silvermane all fought against each other - and of course, Spider-Man was part of the fight, too. Silvermane wants his criminal empire back. Doc Ock is just in it for the power. Big Man is there to defend his status quo. The biggest twist of all is Hammerhead. How devious and manipulative of him to organize the meeting and let the three mob bosses battle each other out for the criminal empire.

At the end of the episode, Mark sure did give Peter a good talk. Liz did not deserve that from Peter. I feel sorry for Liz. She really does like Peter and she's very understanding. The part where Peter apologized Gwen and not kiss Liz was just wrong. I hope Peter shows some affection for Liz. Maybe some hugs or kisses.

One thing I noticed is that Spider-Man said that he needed to make his web stronger. Maybe we will see some impact webbing.

What was that serum that Hammerhead injected in Sable?

That reminds me; Betty Brant has yet to have a speaking appearance this season.

This episode kind of solidified something that I really thought last episode: the whole Peter/Liz thing makes Peter look really, really bad. She's been incredibly nice and understanding to him, and in this episode he's almost cartoonishly unaware of her (to the point of not understanding that he's dating her, not Gwen).

The big fight between the gang bosses was excellent.

Well he is just a normal teen who never had a gf before so he is going to make many mistakes. As for the episode i thought it was very good and i will say more later.

Those two episodes were great. Shouldn't the next episode be up, wiki has 'Subtext' up as airing in Australia on the 15th and seen as they are way ahead of us shouldn't it be up by now?

What was that serum that Hammerhead injected in Sable?

I'm guessing just something to knock her out, like what Dexter gives his victims before they wake up for the last time.

More thing's I noticed...

Joan Jameson kind of looks like Dr. Girlfriend from the Venture Bros.

Silvermane: To the Valentines Day Massa-- Summit.

"Toots" now plays the piano.

Sally: Don't touch me!

Flash: Stop complainin', this is fun!

The, uh, "laser-Tommy guns" don't stick out as much as the weapons on TAS. Which is good. Usually, this show uses regular guns and uses "impact sParks" that leave the ammo to the viewer's imagination.

Meh, I freaking hate the laser guns. Is the station so damn paranoid? Kids watch movies with real damn bullets, they're not gonna care, if not, they do want real bullets firing. I know I would think that if I was a kid.

Yeah, Norman is the master manipulator of all this. That little speech he gave Hammerhead gave him the confidence to take matters into his own hands. Plays right into something Norman would do. Now the vacuum is wide open for a new Big Man or Goblin.

Kids don't notice the lasers thing (I didn't, in the 90s animated show); that just bugs adults.:cwink:

LOl, oh yeah I remember now, I guess Hobie said screw the dance I'm taken my woman to the opera. How ironic JJJ tellin Hobie to zip it.
