The Dark Knight Gangs of Gotham City

I was under the impression that the Falcone family was now under the leadership of Sal Maroni following the demise of Carmine Falcone.
thats kinda what i was thinking. but either way, i cant wait for the scene where Joke is talking with all over them in the room. i think that might be one of the best scenes in the movie.

What kinds of gangs are you looking forward to seeing that The Joker meets with? We know Sal Maroni & Gambol are 2 major players in the Gotham City underworld.

Eric Roberts described in this past interview about filming the gang meeting where the Joker has a huge speech with all the "bad guys of Gotham City" in a "big room, big as half a football field" What kind of gangs/gang leaders do you think we can expect at this meeting? Will this be a "Warriors '79" type of event or do you expect to see random thugs and criminals. Could there be Triads? Latin King-types? Russian mafia? a female gang leader? What other kinds of gangs will be fighting for control of Gotham?

I hope there's a meeting similar to the one in Warriors. I would probably need a change of underwear if that were in the movie. And wow, I didn't notice that either until now that there are people behind joker in that pic.:brucebat:

A scene like that would be great, with the Joker speaking and the camera panning around the room at all the different faces and gang members. That would be awesome, that's why I'm looking forward to it so much

Lets not forget this gang.

With all the info we do have, and considering there is a ton of info we don't know about, this movie seems like it is gonna have so much packed into it. God I can't friggin wait!

Edit. nvm haha

On one hand it wold be interesting to see the Falcone family pick themselves up, on the the other hand it might be uneccersarry baggage left over from the first film. We know the main boss is dead and there's a power vacuum, that's good enough. Having to identify with that boss when he's offscreen might be asking too much (alot of people might not even recall Falcone or even his face). If his son or daughter appears you have to connect them to a character and a plotline thats not even in the movie. I'd rather just move on and introduce new gangs I think. I also like the international feel the chechens bring, Gotham truly is a world center. I don't think Nolans Gotham is very realistic without motorbike gangs though. Every city has motorbike gangs. But instead of tattoos these guys should have neon paint on their faces, it will make the movie not so boring and sober and pedestrian. More bikes and less walking around.

Yeah, I was thinking the same:up:

I was under the impression that the Falcone family was now under the leadership of Sal Maroni following the demise of Carmine Falcone.

What do you mean by Family? I only remember seeing Carmine in Begins. Now that he's gone I think "Falcone" empire itself is gone, and now there's the Maroni Empire. I don't think Alberto, Sofia, etc will be in TDK.

By Family I mean the gang/mob run by Falcone is now under Maroni. Only Carmine was in BB, but he has people working for him, etc. You're right, I'm 99.9% sure Alberto, Sofia and the rest won't be in the movie.

I might be wrong about Maroni's involvement in the Falcone gang, but I'm pretty sure I heard this somewhere awhile back.

Oh, I see what you're saying

From that trailer, it didn't look like a huge room or anything, it looked more like a board meeting filled with a few bad guys. I wonder who those other people in the room were though? I think Commisioner Loeb was in there, and it kindof sounded like Flass in a way too with the "So what are you proposing?" That may have been Gambol though who said that though too

I doubt it was Loeb. Both Winston Ellis and Chucky Venice, who are playing two of Gambol's men look a lot like Loeb.

The guy that said "so what are you proposing" sounded alight like Eric Roberts (Maroni) to me

Here is a quick shot of the room. There is alot of people in that room, and someone had mentioned that they thought they saw Loeb in the room. I was just asking if someone else could confirm this. We can see Gambol and Venice sitting at the table on the right, and I guess Ellis is standing right behind, but I'm wondering if anyone can also make out anyone else

I can't really tell who anyone is. I'll need to see the HD version.

Yeah very true :hehe: I'll post those up as soon as the traier hits, then we can talk.

I don't really see how you can say it looks like Eric Roberts. To me it looks like a blurry white guy with dark hair, which is about 90% of the male characters in TDK.

Good God bkey, you're right again. 90% of the cast are poms (Brits), white, male and between 30 and 75. We only have Loeb who's the token black guy and Gamble. I was going to suggest they give Wesley Snipes the role of Gamble, but then I realised he has other roles at the moment. 3 yrs for tax evasion, that's steep.

It is kind of stereotypical for
Loeb to be killed
isn't it?

And you left out Lucius Fox :cwink:

Falcone and Maroni were always rivals for Gotham city, they were always threatening to kill each other. The only time they got along was when Maroni was going to whack Dent. But now Maroni's in control, so what happened to Falcone? The casting slides show he's in Arkham, but the Times says that he's disappeared. But the Chechens will be interesting, they cause some problems in the US:

Billy Dee Williams the only black man in space, or to be elected DA of Gotham city.:woot:
