As a person who very much likes the work Gary Oldman has done I really like what he's done with Gordon's character. He's a leader and has an edge to him. He's not affraid to do whatever it takes to bring villans to justice.

I really think Nolan hit a home run by picking Oldman.

Thoughts?

I couldn't agree with you more! I think that Oldman really understands how Gordon thinks. His commitment to justice is portrayed to a tee in all of Nolan's films. I also think that his relationship with Batman is spot on.

You know, I wasnt following Batman Begins' development. Schumacher's movies disgusted me with motion picture Batman and I only saw a teaser for BB I believe and knew that Liam Neeson's in it. I didnt even know its a reboot, after all they were (and are) still using things from older movies (like black bodysuit, eye makeup etc). I didnt care for it at all (until I saw it). To make the story short, I got talked into seeing it (and in super short: loved it!), and I didnt know its Gary Oldman playing Gordon until credits started to roll! And Ive been a fan of Oldman for years. Bram Stoker's Dracula is one of my favorite films, but in BB he just looked different, he looked so much like comic book Gordon. My first thought was 'damn, whoever he is they really got a dead ringer for comic book Gordon, thats for sure'

So yes, Oldman I think is perfect for Gordon

I think it's the Gordon character I'll miss the most from the Nolan series once it's done. I don't see how anyone can not like his performance and the way the character was handled.
