I like this game a lot, but it definitely isn't perfect. I kind of wish they didn't add the Sawed Off shotgun, but the thing works like a charm. Here are some demo impressions.

Why is that stupid? I'm pretty sure being shot in the face with a shotgun at close range SHOULD do more damage than being hit with the butt of the gun?

It's not overhyped, it's just good.

Obviously, if you hated everything Gears of War before, you're still not going to like this. But for everyone who loved Gears 1 and 2 campaign but not the multiplayer, this is fantastic because they've finally struck the right chord.

When you say overhyped, that simply means everyone else here likes it but you don't.

I hated the mp for 1 & 2 but love this one, because I just had the best match i'll ever play, EVER. I went 46-7 and managed to cap a decent amount of hills. Got 3 back-to-back triples with the Mortar and like 4 doubles with the Sawed-Off Shotty.

Man CTL is tough. Can't see myself playing that much after unlocking the relevant stuff unless I had a really solid team.

Yea i was in a more of a "yea i guess ill pick it up" kinda mood before i played the Beta, now im in a "DAMN IS IT SEPTEMBER YET!?!?!?!?" kinda mood.

A lot of the hype is from solid sources like the E3 campaign/Beast mode (& subsequent) footage plus the current beta so it's based on real signs that the game is looking good rather than being artificially generated. I think the hype could get really huge when the advertising starts nearer release and after this year's E3 tying up all the loose ends & probably giving out Horde news & footage.

I have a question and this has carried on since the GOW2 MP, are you guys mostly playing as Locust? Everytime I do a match Im on the Locust team. Unlocking COle Train in retail was such a pain

and a glitch I noticed: When im downed and I move away from gunfire the game will lag and thow me back into the line of fire

It should be random whether you are playing as COG or locust. Pretty sure it's about 50/50 for me in the beta & GoW2.

It'd be nice if there was a system to it.... Like you switch over every time, or it's every 2 games or something.

Yeah I definitely agree, I've said it before if you take out the mortar then the spawn camping will basically be non exisistent and the map will turn out to be a pretty fun one. I really enjoy fighting at the top of the hill while either trying to avoid the one shot or watching my team destroy with it.

I've been playing the Beta like crazy last few days. Had a game earlier today where I got 55 kills on KOTH. I hated the sawed off shotgun at first but now I've become a master using it.
