Sci-Fi Gears of War: The movie (In the works!)

I don't see how this movie can be messed up,the game is nothing but action and macho posturing, great fun but not exactly hard to translate to screen:huh:

It seems alright. Halo is a smarter choice if you want to do a game.
I'm surprised they haven't decided to make one of that game. If they can make movies out games like: street fighter, mortal kombat, double dragon, super mario bros.,doom etc... I think they might do one for a semi-popular game.

Because they get hack directors to make them, and bad actors to star in them, and then they are just stupid messes.

Everyone talked about Silent Hill like it was going to be some sort of cinematic masterpiece before it came out and it was going to do huge business.

They only need a director that can blow **** up in a cool way to get this one right:o

Doom didn't have someone who could blow **** up in a cool way so your point is invalid:huh:

Halo is in pre-production. Universal has announced a director.

They got a director who did a bunch of your cool blow **** up music video crap action movies.

No, they got the guy that did Exit Wounds for christ sake, that's blowing **** up in a ****ty way

That's pretty much the quality of directors that want to do these movies. Paul Anderson, Uwe Boll, and the guy that did Exit Wounds.

Ridley Scott will never do this movie.

No, but that's b/c they don't respect games...however if Wiseman does take this, he is a good choice so that would be a turn in the right direction.

All those guys say they love and respect the games.

I think what people are missing about what made movies like PREDATOR great was that they did in fact have substance. They weren't these overly-polished, slow-mo, music video type of CG extravaganzas. They were real movies, with good editing, cinematography, and characters. And the plots and progression of the story at least was plausible in the setting they created.

Movies like this rarely seem to get made anymore. It's something lost with a lot of the current crop of writers and directors.

Predator was pretty stylish but it did build it's very basic macho story well

So who do you guys think could play Phenix, Dom, Cole and Baird?

It really wasn't that stylish, and the editing was pretty old school.

And the way the movie made the jungle into a character was fantastic. It had a great atmosphere.

I'd say like anything time moves on as does style and editing options, Predator's "The jungle came alive" stuff was very stylish as were all the shots in the final battle with Dutch and the Predator

It did have a great atmosphere and built it's tension as well as any movie ever has IMO.
