Sci-Fi Gears of War: The movie (In the works!)

I like Dwayne Johnson, but I'm glad he's not involved. I'd sit there waiting he's going to turn into another pitiful monster in the end or something. The image in my head of Emergence Day on the big screen makes me want to go through the games again. I cant wait for more info to trickle down.

I haven't played Bioshock but I've heard nothing but praise about the games story.

It is a great story. I think it would be the perfect game to movie translation if done right.

Bioshock the movie is due out in 2010 if you didn't know. John Logan, who wrote Gladiator and The Aviator, is writing the screenplay, so I'm definitely looking forward to it.

Bioshock has been shelved according to Gore Verbinski.

Dude...no wai...:csad:

That movie could have made itself. The game translates perfectly to film.

Yes, thank God Wiseman gets it regarding casting of Marcus.

It's gonna kill me when I see her practically as a skeleton and die in Dom's arms.

^ sure he looks and talks nothing like Marcus and he is about 5'8 good choice

I think Sam Worthington would be a good actor for Marcus.:woot:

Ugh, hell no. I even have reservations with Avatar after his wooden accent massacring performance in Terminator: Salvation.

Nah, with Marcus they need to go with an Unknown with a gravely voice. No wrestlers.

I wonder if this is going to be the first good video game to movie adaptation.

I thought more people would be jumping on the Sam Worthington bandwagon.

I have a feeling they may be thinking about him in the role of marcus. I wouldn't be upset about it. But I would prefer someone who has a good voice.

I think he did a good job in terminator. But I agree about his horrible accent. He needs to stay in his Aussie accent.

I just looked up his height, I found this picture. I know Bale isn't 6'4", maybe around 6', so Sam is kinda short to lead the squad.

I really don't understand it when people suggest wrestlers for these main roles. I know it's a video game movie, but shouldn't it be given every chance to succeed before it inevitably falls due to the video game curse? Casting a wrestler as a main character dooms it to mediocrity (at best) from the start.

and he's also wearing thick-soled boots.

that being said, height is really a non issue. You'd be surprised how easy it is to make an actor seem even just a few inches taller. Hell, based on most movies, you'd have no idea Tom Cruise is a midget.

That was the first thing I noticed during the Terminator premiere that Worthington is hobbit-esque.
