Was just posting about this the other day.

The line up for the convention is the modern soul of the Republican Party and its voting base laid bare. Cranks, grifters and aggrievment is all they have because that is what they have been doubling down on each election cycle for decades now.

Even when they have had power in Washington sealed up this generation of Republicans, going back to Gingrich, have shown they abdicated any knowledge of or responsibility for good policy and good governance that comes even close to serving the people. All they know is stirring up unearned resentments. It worked but was fated to end this way, with the irrational naked embrace of authoritarianism and cronyism.

What is shocking is how la di da some sound. "I mean... Sure we are on the precipice of fascism but if Biden wins I'm sure this will all go back to normal and the base of the party will settle and NOT be crazy in a few years."

I am all for whatever healthy relationship consenting adults want. Want to live with 5 different people and get down? You do you. An open relationship? Get it.
