He seems to not be able to answer the question about Leia with a clear yes or no. That portion of the interview is around 6:10. When asked about Leia, Edwards simply answers, “Don’t want to ruin it for people.”
I think that's an unavoidable yes to Leia!
With Smits(Bail Organa) in place, plus the single plot event we all know marks the end of this movie and the start of the next; a symbolic Leia and R2 cameo/reference is a cinch.
One emphasis made when they announced this movie was the absence of the Jedi will loom large over the film, that the Jedi are not coming to save the day, they have to rely on themselves. This might be expressed with Bail Organa placed at the round table on the Yavin base, and all the talk about bringing hope.
So what does he do? We know timeline his next move soon after is to seek out Obi Wan, the last Jedi, to bring him back to Alderaan and back into the fray (which we know he can't do in person)
He does this by way of his daughter
Leia.
I wouldn't be surprised if this is used to set up a tiny cameo/reference for her, either an aside where Bail Organa contacts Leia on Alderaan in a brief hologram exchange, or later the results of that set up, on the Tantive IV we see her in cloaked silhouette, passing down a hall, or ending with just a knowing white sleeved hand receiving a transmission, while R2 bleeps toward her.
If Jyn's last on screen act is sending the transmission, it sets up for Leia's first.
Passing the baton, bridging the end of this movie, and start of the next ...a new hope.
