Yeah it was like at 11 or midnight on Tuesday/Wed. It was really late at night. I remember first seeing the reviews waking up around 1:30AM Mountain time. So this one is releasing it more than 12 hours earlier.

Films in a franchise are always compared to one another. It won't diminish either or because of it.

Sometimes its worse than others. TDKR/Bane for instance. I think its definitely a lesser film than TDK. But after TDK/Joker too many people had their expectations ridiculously high and were expecting a second coming and the critique of Bane too often amounted to nothing more than "Well, he's no Joker".

Which is annoying, because Bane was ridiculously awesome. Arguably the second best CBM villain.

Yeah but as time goes on that wanes. With social media the extremes will come out one side or the other. People have the expectations if a film is not "perfect" it sucks. It's just the nature of the internet nowadays. Yeah I agree TDKR is not as good as TDK but Bane was still awesome, and it's still a good film.

Finally got my tickets last night! Saturday the 17th after work at 7:45 baby!

Unfortunately, though, it's in 3D. I live in a fairly small city and the one Cineplex theatre here just has the one UltraAVX screen and obviously maximizes their revenue for all the blockbusters by showing them exclusively in 3D for the first couple weeks. Basically, if you want to see it within the first few weeks of release, that's how you have to see it. Ah well, still so freaking psyched!
