Comics genext disscusion thread

Dunno, hope this project doesn't go down the crapper because he can't finish it. From where I'm standing, it could be a very interesting story.

let's until confirmation.......he needs to recover..

No offense but CC is old, very old. Full recovery might not even be possible. He needs to be relaxing and reading stories not stressing and writing them. But hey, if he can then fine but if he can't(soon) pass the project onto someone else.

Any information on when this is coming out? I've seen some January previews and Genext wasn't amongst them. Then again i might have been looking in the wrong place.

I've seen up to the february solicits and no, this wasn't in it. Sorry. :(

Claremont is such a great writer, but I'm not sure he has the ideas that he needs to succed in the X-world now. I respect him alot, but most of his stuff deals with other worlds or re-hashing old plots. If he does something I hope it is a new team with different characters.

house of f and everyone else making multiple posts, knock if off. If you trying to spam your post count I will reset it to zero

You asked for it, X-Fans, and now, you got it! Marvel.com asked you what Chris Claremont’s next project should be. You, the fans, said you wanted to know what today’s new generation of X-Men would be like if the Marvel Universe aged in real-time! Who are the children of the X-Men? And what happened to the original team, Professor X, and Magneto after over 30 years of conflict, victories, and tragedies? Now, at last, the answers arrive as beloved X-Men scribe Chris Claremont reveals an all-new generation of mutant teens!

And it's double freaking sized!!! :D

wow, this thread last received a post in 2006. I thought this project was dead. Love those costumes and the art

yes!! i thought this title had died as well. can't wait!

lets see: we have cable, kid colossus, sparky (the blonde guy - name mentioned in wizard a long time ago), becky monroe (storm's descendant, wonder what her powers are?), and the blonde girl (no idea who that is).

Sounds promising!

Becky could have had white hair!!! Also I like the name Becca...short for Rebecca instead of Becky.

After X-Men:The End, and his current Exiles run, do we really need ANOTHER of Claremonts alternative version of the X-Men?

well people wanted it. Marvel ran a poll about 2 years ago and this project is what won out so CC is finally getting a chance to write it

Chris Claremont: Fact is, for me -- my favorite Rogue/Gambit resolution was established in X-Treme, with both of them living pretty much happily ever after in their house in Vale Soleda, and then moving on to the bitter-sweet conclusion of X-Men: the End. On the other hand, there's a sequel of sorts (there's always a sequel of sorts) to that story in GeNext, wherein we find out what happens to Olivier Raven, son of Gambit and Rogue, who seems to be very much a chip off the original block.

Trust me, it'll be fun. (And if GeNext sells, who knows what might happen next? We might get picked up for another "season!")

Holy Crap :shock :applaud Oli is gonna be in this?! :applaud

The only one who resembles him in the promo pic is the charlie sheen look alike (only brunette). which is kinda ironic considering who his dad is.

But the "only brunette" in that pic is confirmed to be Nathan Summers/Cable, so it's not him.
