Ghost Rider 2 underway

* The lawsuit needs to be settled first. The character is cool and all the guys wants is money. He doens't give a crap anymore so if he has a leg to stand on he'll just take some money and Marvel will maintain those rights and a movie will be made. Don't be so sure Nic Cage will be back though and old scripts have not been forgotten.

Were are getting you this info BTW, if you dont wish to reveal it to everyone PM me. Is it the same source your getting Pun2 news off of?

I'd like to know why NC wouldnt come back first and foremost.

Having met Mark and seen his passion, but having also read his comments in various interviews and places...

I don't see him returning to direct Ghost Rider 2.

I can see him returning as a producer, or an executive producer, but I think he'll give up the top chair. He might do some script edits and changes to connect to the first movie, though I'm not sure how involved he'll be.

MSJ really puts a lot of time and passion into these comic films, and for the critics and fans alike to dislike them, or for them to be not as good as fans hoped for has got to be a little downing.

I think MSJ's next movie directing will be non-comic book-based and he'll try to re-establish himself in Hollywood. Then, I can see him coming back to comics, but am not quite sure, especially if he finds success else places in Hollywood.

There is so much pressure on comic film directors, that I'm not sure if MSJ can take a 3rd film in a row with bad ratings and studio restrictions.

Daredevil: Director's Cut however, was his saving grace.

I don't think the problem was so much his directing, but rather the writing b/c he wrote it as well. I mean, the script needed vast improvements, not to mention better action.

The thing that annoys me most is that, contrary to what some people say, the man can clearly write. He did an excellent job with Daredevil, but Ghost Rider just wasn't up to the same standard. If he was being honest, I think he'd have to admit that.

:yay:

Yeah, I agree. It definitely needed more action. But according to MSJ, the reason he wasn't able to integrate more action into the movie was because of the hefty price tag of the special effects. Ok, fine. But I think this is where the skill of a great director is tested. How can I make an entertaining film given certian budget restrictions? If he can't nail it with the action, then maybe focus on character development. If not, the storytelling, or the dialouge, the pacing, the timing. I think all these factors weren't properly implemented (especially the dialouge, geez. And the pacing).

As I've said in earlier posts, directors with much more skill and experience would've been able to work with this budget dillema, and come up with a better film.

I just want another GR film. Yeah the first had it's flaws but it was a decent movie.

I don't mind them sticking with Blaze and using the Ketch villians, most of the original GR villians were pretty lame

At least the phrase "contract of San Van Gonza" made it into popular culture.

Very true, although Daimon Hellstrom was a cool ally, and The Orb and Deathshead werent that bad.

Would the lawsuit really be holding up production though? Marv Wolfman sued over rights to Blade, and that movie's sequel was announced shortly after the first one ended it's theatrical run...

Yeah and the Spiderman lawsuit was going on when Spidey 2 was in pre-production, so i dont see how it would hold it up either.

i would like a sequel and hopefully with vengeance . also no jelly beans

I really would hope he does NOT return in any form in the next movie. Because having him come back really means that Sony is itching for another PG 13 kid movie. If Sony goes PG 13, its pretty obvious the sequel will inherit the many things that made the first movie fail.

We need a reboot of the character and we don't need an origin story (unless the script is killer), just give us the main characters and lets get on with the action and suspense.

I would like Norrington, Goyer, del Toro..hell I'd even settle for the Wachowski bros...or anybody else who is more qualified in making this movie. He and Foster have shown through their movie commentaries that they don't have the talent, experience, or vision to make a true memorable blockbuster. MSJ has fallen in the same category as Uwe Boll and Paul Anderson.

ouch

I just see the same pattern in MSJ and Boll and Anderson.

Anderson took Aliens and Predator...two of the most god-damn greatest sci-fi icons in history and made them into a PG 13 kid flick...with humans joining the Predators in an untintentionally hilarious way - I still remember the "what the hell" (followed by laughter and giggles) moment everybody in the audience had.

Uwe Boll...what can anybody say about Uwe Boll but...Bloodrayne (dark scifi-fantasy character) and turned it into one of the worst movies in history (2.5 out of 10 on IMDB)..he freakin cast Meatloaf in it...can hardly wait (sarcasm) to see how he screws up Farcry (bloody FPS).

...maybe I was a little harsh when I compared MSJ and Paul Anderson to Uwe Boll..I have to give credit to MSJ and Anderson for at least making movies that sell tickets...regardless of how critically bad they are.

Please no Vengeance. Let's not start stealing from Dan Ketch, it's bad enough Johnny Blaze has been retconned :csad:

Im not sure why everybody wants Vengeance in it, you could literally make another movie out of him if you wanted. If MSJ and his crew are coming back they should fix Ghost Rider before they tackle Vengeance...besides Vengeance is R not PG...

Not really. Vengeance isn't that deep a character...sure he's the Venom of Ghost Rider, but his fanbase isn't too big.

Ghost Rider in general is R, not PG. Didn't stop Sony before though :ninja: Not to mention it was hard enough hard enough rendering Ghost Rider himself, never mind how'd they do Vengeance.
