interesting...
i managed to ask someone in my family about bankruptcy and they did mention that it was still possible for a company to go about business as usual. just a method of keeping creditors away it seems.
will have to read more about this of course....hopefully Majestic can keep going until at least a year from now.

Hmm... Interesting. Does this mean I can file bankruptcy and keep those friggers away? hehe.

Okay folks. I've solved the mystery by visiting the forums on Majesco's website. I found a thread asking them about them being bankrupt. Apparantly, it's not true... and this article was posted about it (which was found here; http://www.cgno.com/news/891.html)

CGN News - Correction- Majesco NOT Bankrupt After All
07.24.05 by Jonathan Law

We received information from a Majesco employee that Majesco itself was filing for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Protection. It turns out they were incorrect.

An email obtained from Ken Gold, the Vice-President of Marketing from Majesco Entertainment specifically states that the company is not bankrupt.

The bankruptcy was presumed correct, not only due to the employee, but the fact that Majesco has certainly seen better times financially. Earlier this week, Majesco disclosed to its shareholders that it was expecting a full-year loss. The CEO, Carl Yankowski, resigned amidst a flurry of share price drops and lawsuits, resulting in almost a 50% price reduction on the stock.

CGNO apologizes to Majesco, and sincerely regrets the error for all of our loyal readers.

Hmm. Good news...I think.

I think so. That could have pushed the game back for a long time... or even cancelled it.

Here's a report about Marvel's new RPG thats coming out in 2007; http://xbox.ign.com/articles/637/637720p1.html

New Marvel RPG Planned
Activision signs up to produce a single-player multi-hero adventure.
by David Adams

July 29, 2005 - Activision has extended its license with Marvel Enterprises to include non-persistent RPG titles using a wide range of Marvel super heroes, according to an announcement from the company on Friday.

The new agreement covers both PC and consoles, and allows Activision to create RPGs starring an "ensemble cast" of Marvel characters -- which could of course include Spider-man, the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, as well as characters like Ghost Rider, Daredevil, and the Punisher. Activision expects the first title under the new agreement to ship in its fiscal 2007, which begins April 2006.

"We have had tremendous success with Activision through the licensing of individual characters and groups such as Spider-Man, X-Men and Fantastic Four," said Ames Kirshen at Marvel Enterprises. "Rather than focusing on just one character, this unique license enables Activision to develop role playing games that tap a broader base of characters from Marvel's expansive universe. We look forward to an even more successful future with Activision."

Activision, of course, already has an active relationship with Marvel, having just released Fantastic 4 and Spider-Man 2. X-Men Legends II and Ultimate Spider-Man are both forthcoming.

Sadly, neither company is revealing further details on the new RPG project, much as we'd love some hint of which heroes will make it into the game. Keep your eyes here for more on the title as news comes in.

This of course, is in addition to the Ghost Rider game. So, looks like we may have Ghosty in a RPG environment as well.

Sweet!!!
Good find FH

Rock on!!! not one but 2 GR games in the future...

That Marvel RPG could kick some serious boot-ey. Fun as it is, City of Heroes had better watch out.

That's one of 2 RPG's being made actually. Marvel signed a deal with Microsoft to develop a massivily mulitplayer game using all of there 5000 plus characters. I'm sure Ghost Rider will be ever present in that evironment as well.

Oh yeah. I can only imagine what the games is going to be like. Of course, nobody's ever going to use most of the characters. They're going to have like 500 Spidey's, Punishers, Wolvies and Ghost Rider's runnin' around.

They have over 5000 actually. I think it's closer to 5500... but, you're right, a lot of them are very minor.

This will probably be the first online game that I'll get into...

MM. You gotta get it.

It would be neat to be about to run around a world with the people you met here. We could all start a Spirits of Vengeance motocycle gang, or even the Midnight Sons for that matter.

Ohh, I'm getting excited.

Yeah! Some werewolves, zombies, skeletons, vampires, demons, all mystic kind of characters, maybe all with bikes or something...

It would be awesome if you get to bike your own vehicles and such. Then we would be all able to run a cycle gang, no matter what character you are.

It woudl be neat if you could alter your characters appearance as well. Then we would be able to have different types of Ghost Riders, instead of everyone lookin' the same.

I think the GR bike in a MMORPG like this could be simulated as an accessory/power, and vehicles in genre are later add-on...

BTW, in the official game they HAVE to make unlockable secret alternative costumes/bikes from the comics: the GRI ones, the GRII ones and maybe the red one and the final one. Maybe even the ones of the new miniserie coming, but NOT the hammer crap serie.

Unlockables are always awesome. They keep the game playable for longer without getting bored with it. Bikes and costumes are excellent things to unlock... and new characters and such as well would be awesome; like the rest of the Midnight Sons.

Anyone here play City of Heroes, just out of curiosity?

:ghost:

Never played at that, weak pc for thoose 3d thingies.
But...I wonder if there's some GR like hero in there...Is there any index of players/heroes?

Well, they've had to be very careful about breaching copyright. When I started, I saw a few Hulks and Supermen who were all swiftly removed!

Haven't seen anyone who resembled Ghost Rider. Don't think you can do skulls, maybe for that very reason. The closest I could get to GR looked more like The Crow!

There's no vehicles in the game or chains, but you can have fiery abilities.

It's cool, if you can handle the repetitiveness of the missions.

Mostly all movie superhero films are getting adapted games. Batman begins, Spiderman 1&2, Superman returns. I think its safe to say that Ghost Rider will get his game. Plus its gonna be on the PS3 cause by august next year its gonna be out for like 8 months.

We already know that there is a game planned for the summer of 2006.

There's even a website: http://www.ghostridergame.com/

A game that comes out on a console near replacement has more chances to use up all the machine 's potential, and normally it's of greater quality.
Not to mention the bigger base installed.

Agreed. Some of the best games come out at the end of a console's life, when developers seem to be squeezing every ounce of power they can out of it. Have you played God of War? Wow!! I didn't even think that was possible on the PS2.:)
