Just an artistic representation. OH, I had no idea :whatever:

It's obvious where you come from..."evil old testament god"
He was not evil, he merely punished those who sinned and unfortunately for you, He will again :cwink:

:wow: OH NOES THE COSMIC CRUTCH IZ GON PUNISH ME!!!

Get off it you fundamentalist idiot and get the **** out of here considering the book went to far in your opinion, doing your job as a cross bearing watchdog?

Wish I could take that Bible belt and beat some of you people with it.

uhh, respect peoples beliefs and quit getting mad at people.

your just as bad as mr. ghost rider.....

Anyways, I had mixed feelings about issue 26.
The art was a big let down, I was thrilled to see Blackout and Death Ninja again, but they looked way better in the 90's.
And I remembered Orb looking better in some reprint of a Marvel Team up book.

So Ketch is a big tool? Hmm.

Btw, I thought that even Hellfire couldn't relieve Death Ninja from his curse.

Sorry, I just get pissed off when people play the eternal damnation trump card.

I might get abrasive, a tad arrogant, but it isn't anything compared to the arrogance encompassed in a sort of statement that implies that your ephemeral hominid, from your big book of myths is going kill me for the sin of dissent against arcane scripture.

Btw, I thought that even Hellfire couldn't relieve Death Ninja from his curse.

Ya, that did upset me a little. I want Death Ninja to hang around a little longer, considering he was so short-lived in the 90s.

One thing that I didnt understand is how Dan Ketch would even dare to team up with Blackoout after all the bad blood they have. It seems Dan Ketch is intent on something and in Howard Mackie style, we have no idea what that is.

I never knew that Caretaker had his own house, and I never knew he could wield the hellfire shotgun. If you remember in the 90s he had his own mystic blasts and power which was enough to force transformations of the Ghost Riders. What exactly is Caretaker's role in all of this?

For all the sheer coolness of this issue with the arrival of DK, there are so many questions I wonder if Aaron will answer any of them.

ok, so nostalgia effects the memory.
the art was still cool back in the day, but not as realistic as the new one, and doesn't have as much of a ninja shape... not sure if i like the red over the green skin though.
and i liked his dialogue better then, in this new one he was basically wisecracking, sounded like everyone else.

who i'd desperately want to see again, and haven't since this issue of ghost rider, or in anything else prior to that... is Madcap... the guy was sheer awesome.

For all the sheer coolness of this issue with the arrival of DK, there are so many questions I wonder if Aaron will answer any of them.

I believe that all the questionable points that came up in the issue are a set-up for something big in the future. Yes, DK would never do such things knowing the DK we all grew up with, but I guess Aaron's making a bold statement that something really intense happened along the way for him to be doing such things. As mentioned in the ish, he's practically a different person now, to the point he's not even quite sure what he is.

These matters will probably be tackled in the future issues, and the DK mini series (well, they should!).

As for the art, it's pretty much starting to turn me off, IMO. Boschi's art may have seemed rough and haphazardly drawn, but it had coherence. It was meant to be a raw, fast paced, grindhouse kinda thing, which totally fits the GR persona. Huat's, I just don't get. His rendition of characters' faces all look droopy and repetitive, while some even look like corpses!! (Like how Dan looked in one of the panels!)!! I just don't get the whole feel of his art, and how it's supposed to blend with the Ghost Rider theme. Huat also seems to have an art style where he sometimes draws people in some sort of "squating" type of posture when standing, if any of you guys have noticed. Not to mention the oversized feet. He seems to channel a Roaring '20's era kind of art.

The guy's talented for sure, but I just don't see him fit for GR.

Btw, did any of you guys notice the reprint of the letter of the Brazilian dude? Talk about major typo.

I believe that artwork was from Brett Blevins...in the 90s i remember lots of people not liking his artwork, and its kind of ironic that now we actually appreciate it.

What a freak I am. I have the audacity to be offended when the centerpiece of my relegion is defaced. i'll have to go back and check myself.
As for you, you are extremely close minded. I pity you

Nice review by Wizard Mag on the latest Issue:

GHOST RIDER #26
Marvel Comics
Jason Aaron (W)/Tan Eng Huat (A)

JOSH: "Roses are red, violets are blue, Jason Aaron's the shiznit, and so is his mom. Seriously, I'm not particularly into Ghost Rider, but if there's anyone who can turn me around on this flaming skull, it's Aaron. It's so ridiculous to see all of these B- and C-list villains, like Blackout, Death Ninja and the Orb, running around, but it's outmatched by how enjoyable it is watching the Caretaker systematically rip them apart. I mean, Orb gets literally nailed in the giant eyeball face. As someone with a major eye phobia, that scene made me dry heave. Totally gross, and totally awesome. Big tip of the hat to Tan Eng Huat who joined as penciler two issues ago. I didn't know what to think of him right off the bat, but the art here pops off the page. It's gritty, it's maniacal, it's got everything you need from it. Month in and month out, Ghost Rider is one of the best books on the shelves. Trust me, it's as hard for me to believe as it is for you. Just do yourself a favor and take that leap of faith, because the Spirit of Vengeance has never been this fun."

If you leave your mind open too much your bound to have it filled with crap. :cwink:

Yet the centrepiece of your religion wasn't defiled, a ****ing drawing of the centrepiece of your religion was depicted as being defiled.

Lets consider the circumstance Blaze was in shall we?
He was being pummelled by the Deacon, a righteous son of a ***** empowered by Zadkiel, gifted by his weapon, and completely bat**** insane.

GR is no ones fool and he seized the only opportunity he had to save his ass.
He knew there was a chance that Deacon was so deluded that he'd stop striking if the bible was used as a shield, and hell, he knew if he put it down he might very well get finished.

What to do next?

How about bashing his brains in with the giant bible.

It worked.

I think it was great fun actually.
I like how the hypocrisy of some of the most fanatically religious people was displayed in those panels.

A madman who continuously kills and maims in the name of the lord being appalled by the gesture of using a book of myths and parables as a shield and a weapon.

Oh, and about me being closed minded... I've actually explored many worldviews and theories, you on the other hand probably have a very strict set of views that you'd never think of switching because their so wholly ingrained in your thought process.

I wonder if Zarathustrains (Zoroastrians) were offended this much when they used their Prophet (Zarathustra aka Zarathos) as a soul-eating murderous demon in the older Ghost Rider stories? Or the fact that Ghost Rider has similarities to the Islamic Jinn, the smokeless fire demons who can possess people and can be summoned to exact vengeance, or bring omens of death and bad luck.

I mean GR comics have always had some sacrilegious content in it. In the 90s run, Hellgates men destroy a church, threaten to kill the Priest inside. Lets not even start talking about the good ole Reverend Stiege.

In the end of the day, this comic is fiction, there was no Angel Zadkiel, there was no siege in Heaven, just view this Earth as an 'alternate' Earth and their Marvel God as just that..a fake God. That way you won't be offended as much.

This comic has nothing to do with Jesus, the Bible that you read, the Torah, or the Koran, it has nothing really to do with the Zoroastrian prophet Zarathustra, or any other religion. Lets just forget about it and get back to reading Ghost Rider..the Spirit of FREAKIN Vengeance.

Well, there's supposedly a new Caretaker in the next issue, so if I had to guess, I'd guess that the current Caretaker's role is, above all else, short. :o

I didn't really enjoy the last issue. Too much Dan-hating all around. Hey, fans of the '90s Ghost Rider, guess what? Turns out your character meant nothing 'cause he was an accident! Just a demonic aberration with delusions of grandeur. Bleh.

I'll stick with the series through the end of the current arc in the hopes that Aaron has something better in mind for Dan than turning him into an angsty, cookie-cutter villain, but I'm not too hopeful at this point.

Yeah, I kinda felt the same way when I got to that part.

But still, it was a 90's fan's wet dream... Dan; Dan's rad monster of a bike; Blackout; Death Ninja!!; Doghead; Caretaker; The Orb (ok, he was 70's/ 80's); The Hellfire shotgun designed exactly like it was back in the 90's right down to a T; and my personal favorite... A totally bad-ass (and nostalgic) shot of The Spirits of Vengeance! Seeing that 90's design of Blaze got me toally giddy for awhile. hehe.

With respect, if you didn't already know about Dan being an accident, then you've missed out on quite a bit of GR history coz that was first mentioned (I believe) in Ghost Rider #39. So that bit didn't upset me in the least.

I look forward to see where Aaron takes the character.

Wow, you have a good memory. Now that you've mentioned it, I recall that an "accident" was already revealed during the 90's run, in the Road to Vengeance: The Missing Link arc. That arc where GR, Blaze and Vengeance fought Zarathos together using the Medallion of Power.

If I'm not mistaken, it was something about Dan receiving a piece of the Medallion which he wasn't supposed to. It was because of this that he turned into the Ghost Rider. Not really sure, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

That story was about how Ghost Rider came into being as an entity. The story describing the hosts and who should have been possessed by Noble Kale's spirit was told in the Flashback issue, Ghost Rider #-1.

Didn't someone say that Barbera was suposed to be the spirit of vengeance?? But if that was true then you would have to read what if 25 to see she does a bad job at it,.

Didn't someone say that Barbera was suposed to be the spirit of vengeance??

Yup, that's correct. I'm pretty sure the way it's construed is that the female offspring of the host family is always meant to be carrier of the SoV. It's all explained in the Flashback issue I believe but I'm too lazy to go dig it up right now.

Now you know how the 70's80's fans felt when the 90's came out. Its what happens when continuity is thrown out the window.

Can't wait for this:
