Ghostbusters 3!

YES!!!!!!! this is definately the best news i've heard all year so far!!!!! true, i would indeed prefer a live action film, but cgi will do! especially since everyone will hopefully be on board to participate. if Bill Murray is in, then no doubt everyone else is as well :yay: :yay:

This is the concept art for the Xbox 360 game, something similiar to this would be great.

What, this alone may be reason for me to purchase X-box 360 :wow:

Oh my ****ing goodness...I wont let myself get too excited about this till we start seeing some production getting underway, but that's great news and I think it's the best way to go.

Actually looks kinda cool...but I'm not quite sold on that Ectomobile. I guess I'd hafta to see it in action.

Just don´t make a remake of the first movie, like the second one.

My idea of c.g.i. differs a bit. I do not want this if the c.g.i. is like Shrek but if it's like Yoda... who needs actors anymore?

CGI/Animation is a great platform for a lot of things... I believe Ghostbusters is one of them just due to the nature of the property. The property already is very comical and light-hearted in nature that CGI could do quite a bit in terms of facial expression and simply the ghosts and what not. Plus let's face it, had it been live-action in this day and age it would of been a CGI-Fest to begin with. This is great news!

Also I doubt it'll be motion capture to the incredible budgets they have to deal with in making those movies... Polar Express cost nearly 200 mil to create :(

i didn't like this idea at first, but it's growing on me...

what if they went with the style of animation in polar express? that kind of motion capture?

meh...

I was never a Ghostbusters fan, anyway.

More or less. They have almost the exact same formula.

Yup - Dana menaced by another evil force; Venkman trying to score points with her; the boys trying to warn the Mayor; another ancient warlock/demon/thing trying to bring darkness over the earth and all that jazz; a nerdy possessed cronie; even the giant behemoth of some kind stomping through downtown NY at the end - exactly what was in the first movie. I remember getting that level of dissatisfaction about it when I saw it in the theater back in '89 (note: I was only seven when I saw the original in the theater back in '84, and naturally I found it 60% scary/40% funny - how much opinions change in five years, eh?)

I like Ghostbusters 2 better than 1 in spite of that, it's the same with Evil Dead 2 which is very similar to its' predacessor. GB2 just has so much charm to it that it works, as well as characters who do evolve somewhat. Plus I love the soundtrack...

if they can make it work, i'll be inline to see it, but i wont get excited untill i see something rather than rumors

also the game better be on others tather than just the 360 or i'll be royally pissed

I'm a huge Busters fan, saw the first two just last week. But we've been let down too many times.

I remember back in '05, Dan Akyroyd said there was going to be a live action Ghostbusters movie that he was writing, then the NEXT month, he said it's a no go. And notice Dan Aykroyd is always the one reporting that there's gonna be a third. He's been doing it ever since the early 90s, talking about a sequel. Not to mention Murray, Ramis, Weaver, and Reitman were not happy with the second film, they never wanted more than one.

So once you think about how many other times Mr. Aykroyd has said there will be a Ghostbusters 3 in the past decade and a half, there's only about a 10% chance that it'll happen.
