Ghostbusters 3!

Ghostbusters CGI movie? Oh no, the world's end has already begun :( :down

I'm a huge Busters fan, saw the first two just last week. But we've been let down too many times.

I remember back in '05, Dan Akyroyd said there was going to be a live action Ghostbusters movie that he was writing, then the NEXT month, he said it's a no go. And notice Dan Aykroyd is always the one reporting that there's gonna be a third. He's been doing it ever since the early 90s, talking about a sequel. Not to mention Murray, Ramis, Weaver, and Reitman were not happy with the second film, they never wanted more than one.

So once you think about how many other times Mr. Aykroyd has said there will be a Ghostbusters 3 in the past decade and a half, there's only about a 10% chance that it'll happen.

He co-created the characters and co-wrote the two films and wrote the third, he would be the best to know. The thing that is different is that Bill Murray is on board and they have a way to create a film that is cheaper than a potential live action and keeps all the characters. Sure it could never happen but I'm sure Sony would want to cash in on another franchise, by having CGI they can keep all the merchandise with the Ghostbusters on it with young looking, not out of shape old men. Plus the fanbase has grown in the nearly 20 years since the last film.

QQ:if it were to happen, which CG would you prefer?
cartoony

or realistic?

I agree with you. I rather have Ghostbuster 3 as a live action movie than a CGI one. Even if it features Dan Aykroyd as the only original ghostbuster and he has whole new crew (mostly unknowns) fighting ghost.

Didn't Aykroyd made cameo in the movie "Casper" as a ghostbuster?

the Ghostbuster movies has always been kinda "cartoony" to me.

Yes with a mustache.

I posted the X-Box 360 concept art earlier, that's what it should be.

Listening to the interview again. There is no way Sony would produce a live action GB3. With Dan's concepts for ManHelltan, The budget would be too huge for live action. Also, with the Hell themes involved, I doubt this is going to be a PG movie. It would be cool if they bought in some of the Frat Pack to do some voice work. This movie screams all star cast.

Move over comic book craze the 80's is taking over.

Please tell me your joking.

Evolution was basically what Ghostbusters would be currently. It would be PG-13, as the original movies would definitely be PG-13 nowadays. I would say do it Final Fantasy quality if they can, but if they want to make them look more like their cartoon show selves, I wouldn't hate it.

Okay so murrays willing to do a CGI GB but not a Live Action one.

Kinda a jip if you ask me but like someone said something is better then nothing.

I would hate it if it's the cartoon version.

Yeah, but Evolution was no where near as good as GB even though it had the same director. GB is a classic. Final Fantasy/Polar Express gfx would be good but do you guys know how much it cost? It would it around the 200M area. Whereas if it was Sherk animation, it'd be around 100M.

Murray is on crack, he agrees to do Garfield but not a live action GB3. And he'll lend his voice to the GB but not his face....

I guess he figures its easier to lend your voice then do actually work.

Voiceover work has become a very respected trend in the industry ever since Tom Hanks voiced Woody. Every A-lister is doing it.

Id have the movie where its them training a new team of ghostbusters

They may just pull a Batman Begins/James Bond thing and transplant them into the present day, not a day older.

Something like they train the new guys up, something goes wrong and they have to suit up one last time to save their asses and the world haha

If it's gonna be with new guys(which would be cool if they're good) then there is absolutely NO reason for it being CG.

That idea i would love to see real life, but if its just them 4 and no people in training they are best off doing it CGI so they can make them look younger
