Ghostbusters 3!

I heard this the other day on the radio, that's from my home town of Edmonton by the way, Dan and jim Belushi were doing a Blues Brother show here.

Something like they train the new guys up, something goes wrong and they have to suit up one last time to save their asses and the world haha

I love this idea, it would be a big screw you to everyone that wanted to do a totally new team.

Have the new team **** up and open up ManHellton and "Satan/Belzebub" kills the new guys. Then at the end The OG go up against ghost versions of the "EXTREME" Ghostbusters.

Wasn't the Hellbent script that Stax on ign reviewed a while back had a new team?

though that could have been just a new version of it, since Venkman apparently only had a funny cameo in it

Originally, Venkman died in the beginning and helped the GB as a ghost. Then at the end he got transported somehow through time and he became slimer. Which is why Venkman got slimed by him in the first movie.

Since its CGI why dont they scrap the new team idea and just stick with the OG's. It's really not necessary now that the movie is going to be CGI.

This is great news, but I wish it was live action.
Some hair patches to cover the bald spots and some hair dye and there ya go.

Yeah but w/ Live Action = No Dr. Venkman

I also would prefer a live-action film WITH the whole team intact.

So if CGI is what its gon' take for the entire team to get together, then i'm all for it.

I just hope its "realistic" CGI ala "The Polar Express" and not cartoony ala TMNT, Incredibles, etc.

If he only wants to lend his voice for the movie I don't see why they won't go along with this idea to have it live action. An animated movie is better than nothing though.

this is bogus news I'm afraid. GB3:Hellbent a.k.a "Ghostbusters Go To Hell" died in 2000 with murray's non involvement.

This is actually a mis-quote from a radio interview ackroyd did where he said he was voicing and doing motion capture for a new ghostbusters...............................VIDEO GAME!! You know the zootfly one. Looks like its on its way to getting the go-ahead.

This might help the propsect of a GB3 along....but I have a feeling well be waiting quite a while for the gbs to return to the big screen. Its just a shame that bill murray is refusing to do it. Im sure the CGI comment was tongue in cheek, much like when murray said hed only do GB3 if he could be a ghost.....

the article stated that although Bill Murray announced his intention to take a break from acting in 2005 he is returning to his "Ghostbusters" role for a third installment of the hit movies, with Dan Aykroyd, and Harold Ramis. even possible more of the stars from the first two films! and yes, computer simulation will be involved.
OOOO MAN!! THIS IS TOTALLY GOING TO JAZZ UP MY SUMMER.

ghostbusters 3 is the one movie i've been waiting on since childhoodt:

if this does get made it'll be what my entire movie watching time has been building towards...ghostbusters was the first movie i ever sat through

Ghostbusters 3 is never getting made. well not with original cast. I loved the first two but I bet a million bucks that Ramis, Aykroyd, Murray and co are not gonna make another.

Ghostbusters III WILL be made with the original cast (including Bill Murray) except it will not be a live action sequel as Dan Ankroid has opted to go with CGI ala Pixar.

The question now is whether or not the characters will be photo realistic (The Polar Express) or cartoonish (The Incredibles)

I'm hopin' for the former moreso than the latter. t:

Dan said he wanted to use the "Real" Ghostbusters look since Bill will never ever allow his looks for a cgi movie. Hell most people want GB action figures based on the movie, but Bill won't do it.

it is NOT confirmed. there has been no official announcement from the studio. Ackroyd been trying to get this made since 98- reitman liked his script but felt that it needed more work (as did an early script review I read)

but Murray has consistently said he didnt want to do it. On occasions he has said "ill do it if im a ghost"...but his tongue is in cheek. He also told ackroyd recently "ill do it if its all CGI"...

I dont think hes being serious. Hes just being flippant.

Will GB3 ever happen? yes I think it will someday..but not within the next 2 years...

did you not even READ my post ealier.
my local paper just did an INTERVIEW with Bill Murray due to the SXSW film festival and they asked him what he had planned for the future and he said that he and the original cast were gearing up to make GB3.
you can be as pessimistic as you want but squeeze your cheeks cus this things happening.
