Ghostbusters 3

Hasn't it been noted that there is or will be a type of a Ghostbusters' Inc. like the new Batman Inc.?

Meaning it has or will have [in the new movie] world wide or atleast nationwide collections of Ghostbusters.

Unfortunately, no.

This is something I would have loved to have seen and this was the angle Aykroyd used in the Ghostbusters 3 script he wrote in the late 90's. Ghostbusters was a full blown corporation in Aykroyd's Hellbent script, with many employees and a fleet of vehicles.

From what little we know about the current script:

The film starts off with the Ghostbusters having been long out of business, since they've cleaned up New York.

Bummer on that spoiler...

That seems like the status Ghostbusters', albeit on the oppisite spectrum, have at the beginning of the second film...

For me I would love to stick to four member two guys two girls or three guys one girl. Or if they went five members three guys and two girls.

I think that Bill Hader, Will Forte, Anna Farris and/or Eliza Dushku would all be great additions to the franchise, but only if they respect the original material. Yes, GB1 and 2 had a cast primarily made up of SNL alum, but they didn't play as comedies. They played as action/adventure movies that were funny. If they treat the subject material with respect they can cast some more recent SNL actors and make this thing really good and funny at the same time!

I am sure/hope they would treat the characters well and play comedy like the old ones did. With some injecture of modern comedy too.

Obviously they have to update some parts of the comedy, I just hope they don't go for what's 'in' right now - stoner jokes, over the top foul language and gross out jokes.

And I'm voting Nay on any dimension hopping or trips to Hell, personally... The first two movies were grounded to an extent with what we were supposed to believe (there were ghosts and lasers, accept that and you're good).

I vaguely remember Aykroyd mentioning his original plans were for four guys and one girl, though at this point it's hard to gauge what's real and what's old news.

I think it's best to keep the team as small as possible (so probably another 4 set) since we're only going to have so much time to develop all of the characters... You'll have the new Ghostbusters, whoever their assorted allies are (they've got to have at least a few randoms like the original team had)... then of course there's the original cast (Yeah, I know they say their roles are going to be smaller than starring, but c'mon, they're who people are paying to see - they'll have significant roles) and their assorted allies...

And we haven't even gotten into the villains dept. yet...

Oh hea I don't want stoner/fart/sex jokes and all that either. Hopefully they will keep it to a minium. I agree I keep it small too to give proper time to develop the new characters and the old ones.

The only way I could see Faris working is as a replacement for Jeanine. I know she still doesn't fit the competent secretary-type, but I'd rather her show up there than as an actual Ghostbuster. Of maybe she will just be a random client, which I could deal with if the movie doesn't revolve around her like the original did with Dana.

Oh Lord knows she doesn't have anywhere near the acting chops to pull off an appearance as serious as Sigourney Weaver's in GB.

She doesn't have anywhere near the acting chops to pull off a replacement for Jeanine. Why did Ackroyd have to pick the one actress I hate so much I can't finish a film with her in it? I hate everything about Faris; her laugh, her nuances, her facial expressions, her voice, her timing, everything.

Every time I see her on TV I want to reach into it, put my hands around her neck, and swing her around like a chicken. It's like I woke up into my worst nightmare, all about Ghostbusters III. I need a drink.

Yea that is true if faris was hire she could be client, jeanie type role, or heck maybe gf of one of the male busters. Say for example if eliza was hired to. Eliza be buster, ana other. As for ana who knows if she will sign. For all we know she could decline, she like eliza is someone dan likes/wants to work with, or she can't do movie cause of prior projects going on.

Since Ackroyd wants her in the cast, maybe someone will make some kind of petition to put Dushku in.

If Aykroyd really wants her in the cast she'd be hard pressed to say no... the last time she was in an A-List movie (and c'mon, a GB3 would have an enormous amount of hype and advertising) was...

Little help? :woot:

Well he likes her too. Bug like I just pointed out. She could be mentiond as someone dan wants. But what about ivan/harold thoughts on casting. I am sure they will have a say tool plus who knows if she would sign on. We have no new busters signed yet so it could easily go to someone else. Like I said she is just rumored/looked at. But casting could go in different direction. Plus we don't know what female roles will be about yet.

True Lies?

If we're going to get a passing-the-torch movie, I really liked the way the interaction between older and younger was handled in Gone in Sixty Seconds.

Nah I was talking about Eliza.

I refuse to recognize what Faris has done as a 'career.'

i think it was that one chearleader movie she did with Kirsten Dunst. at least, that's the last movie she starred in that i can think of which was a "hit"

she's hot and was great in Buffy/Angel and Tru Calling. i hope she is a Ghostbuster

I don't think this would be type of film natlie would do. Good actress though.

I don't know.....she did "Your Highness" with James Franco and Danny McBride. It's not necessarily a high maintenance type of film based on the trailer.

well who knows never can tell what type of film some actors will choose. Some love to do the big block buster films. Others like to do the more indepdendent/artsy films.
