G.I. Joe 3 Rumors:
According to Film Divider, "Matt Trakker will be stepping up onto the big screen. he was the lead character of MASK, or Mobile Armoured Strike Kommand, a Kenner toy line and cartoon from the 80s. ... Trakker joining GI Joe suggests that MASK will be introduced either in this film, set up for a sequel, or possibly be established for their own spin-off. Its easy to see why Hasbro and Paramount would like this idea."
As the site reminds us, there is a precedent for a G.I. Joe-M.A.S.K. crossover after the Trakker character was reintroduced as a Joe mission specialist following Hasbro's purchase of Kenner. If you don't recall, M.A.S.K. ran from 1985-86 and was essentially a hybrid of two other wildly popular 1980s toy-cartoon franchises, G.I. Joe and Transformers, with a special task forces who used transforming vehicles to fight the evil organization V.E.N.O.M.
But that's not all, Joe fans. Film Divider also claims the main villains of G.I. Joe 3 will be Tomax and Xamot, the identical twin terrorists (well, Xamot had a scar on his cheek) who also served as Cobra's Crimson Guard Commanders. In the Renegades continuity, Tomax and Xamot also had psychic powers.
It was recently reported that Disturbia and Eagle Eye director D.J. Caruso was in the running to helm G.I. Joe 3, which is expected to open in 2016.

I just want to see the return of Scarlet and Baroness. They were fierce! And Paramount.... set the date!
So I just saw the news that they are, of course, waiting for The Rock's schedule to clear up to do GI Joe 3.
Anyone think they should just reboot if they're gonna do this
I'd love to see a near prequel (similar to Rogue One) based on Larry Hama's Declassified series, featuring the recruitment of the original 13 agents, and the missions that happened before G.I.JOE #1.
The company also has big plans to team up with Paramount again on movies featuring a rebooted G.I. Joe with a revamped look intended to appeal to younger audiences.
The action-figure line was turned into a movie in 2009, with a sequel four years later. Both "G.I. Joe" movies were modest box-office successes and didn't generate the level of global appeal as the "Transformers" movies.
The world has changed, and I think youre going to see G.I. Joe changing with it, he said. Theres going to be a much more contemporary approach to the whole franchise, and that will allow us to develop different characters.
Davis added: We hope to create a head snap. Its a different kind of Joe one that still resonates with Joe fans but brings in an uninitiated audience and expands the audience internationally and domestically.
If all goes as planned, the cinematic universe will eventually incorporate characters from other popular Hasbro properties including ROM, Micronauts, Visionaries and M.A.S.K.
Is it a sequel or a reboot?
