Girl Dies, Parents didn't pray hard enough.

If you are going to put faith in the existence of a higher power such as God, you must also accept that God, being a being of ultimate power, will do things for reasons that we as mortals cannot begin to comprehend.
I guess that's true, but it sure makes him look like a hipocrite. "I love all of my children, but will not hessitate to let one die so I can teach her parents and others around them a lesson."

This will answer the questions. Not that you'll listen to the facts....you people only look for reasons to bash Christians. They may say Jesus and use the same terms. But they deviate sriously on who God is and even scripture. so click the link and learn something.

Every major religion has a cult or "cults" attached to them. Even Orthodox Islam has the Black Muslims, the 5 percenters, Bah Hai etc.... Black Muslims think they are gods. True Islam considers that to be blasphemy. They are not the same, even though they use the same name for God (Allah) or even call themselves Muslims.

Christianity has the same strange off shoots.
That was his point. He understands that they are not what Christ would have albeld a Christian, but they claim to be Christians none the less.

Actually, I didn't bash anybody at all. Strike one, Slim.

As a matter of fact, I'd maintain that you were bashing another sect of Christianity. Strike two.

Finally, I think it's rather funny that somebody can be so elitist and arrogant as to claim that one sect is more valid than another based on means that are fairly arbitrary in the first place. You can post all the links you want, that will not change.

It boils down to: "Wow, these guys have a different interpretation of the Bible...they're not as faithful as we are! Let's belittle their beliefs, and when somebody belittles our own beliefs, let's cry about it!"

Strike three! Yer out!

As a mortal who doesn't comprehend complex medicine journals, I am thankful that God puts the power to comprehend them into people called doctors who can help save my child when she is sick.

I believe that's the miracle they were looking for...only they waited for better special effects to come with it and now their girl is dead.

so one day there was a man who was swimming in the middle of the ocean after his boat sank.

Later a boat comes up to him and a person on board shouts "hey mister, you need help!?"

The man in the ocean said " No thank you, God will save me"

later Another boat went over to him and said " hey you, you look like you need help!"

the man said again " No thank you, god will save me"

Hours later the man became to tired and drowned

Moments later the man arrived at heaven and said " Hey God why didn't you save me!?"

God replied "I sent two boats to you, Ya Dummy!"

:pal::woot:

The minister at the church my family goes to has always said, "you can pray, but that don't mean God is going to do it for you while you sit back. He works through people, it's not magic."

Christianity is a cult, and they need to be fed to the lions as what happened during the Nero times.

They should be treated accordingly the way they are treated in China and the Middle East.

Cutting off limbs and tongues. Beating them until they defecate and piss uncontrollably and wind up in a mental aslyum. America should (and will) follow suit.

Wow. You and Rev. Phelps (Westboro Baptist) are two sides of the same coin.

They believe/and pray to Christ, therefor it is a branch of Christianity. Sorry Slim you can't just pick and chose the best and ignore the worst.
no, i took a new religions course and they arent anything like Christians, they just use the name for some reason. They believe that we all have some "christ" thing that we can get ahold of, and that Jesus was just the first person to do so. Marie Baker Edie(spl?) was the one who founded it, and said you can't use prescription drugs blah blah blah, for the last bit of her life she was on constant morphine:whatever:

i've got a text book right here with me saying this, its called the Challenge of the Cults and New Relgions, by Ron Rhodes

Ok, cool just because it is a big pretty book doesn't make it fact. That's just one man's opinion.

well what are you saying it is? i just did a read through of it on wikipedia and its saying the exact same things i did

i wouldnt use wiki to back up your statements especially for things like politics and religion which tend to be highly controversial

Probably brainwashed from around the age of three. People like this need to have their kids taken away along with their reproductive abilities. Now, as for God in all of this, how could a God who "loves everyone", allow this to happen to the little girl? Or was death the best thing for her? I always wonder when things like this occur, where is God when innocents need him? I guess he must be busy.
Are those serious questions? God also give humans a brain so that they may use them to develop some common sense. God did not let the kid die, her parents did. Death is a natural thing. If God were to let everyone live, the world would be overpopulated. Have you thought of the problems that will rise with overpopulation? It's always easy for us to blame God for everything instead of taking responsibility for our own dumb actions.

Oh man, I'm totally praying for you. There's no point in arguing with them D.

I'm way ahead of you. I'm down on my knees and praying hard, for God to make those malfunctioned brains work. The irony is that, the people who blame God are the same ones who deny the existence of God. WTH?

I read a book once, where a professor at my school was quoted saying that he believes that miracles can still exist, it's only that we don't have the reckless faith to allow those things to happen. When you get sick, most often you will go to the doctor. When you don't have food in the house, most often you will go to the grocery store. Will you pray to get better? Or will you pray for bread to rain down from Heaven?

OK, well, that's one man's take on it...if you like that point of view, or not.

Whether or not these parents had good faith, I don't know. Should they have taken their daughter to be treated? I think so. Prayer for healing did not save her life. It's awful, and tragic that her life ended...

And those of you who argue the argument of theodicy, and say - "Why all this suffering if God is there?" or "Give us a sign, give us a miracle, save us then if you are really there."

The Israelites, led out of Egypt, out of slavery, they saw signs. Did they hold true to their faith?

The people living in Jerusalem at the time of Jesus, watching Him heal those who were sick, and ressurect a man from the dead. Did they believe in Him?

The theif next to Jesus, taunting Him, saying - "If you are who you say you are, then save me. Show me a sign. Show me a miracle. SHOW me something. Otherwise, you're not real. You do no good for me." And then there was the other man hanging next to him, who was on his own cross, for his own punishment. He took a leap of faith, and he believed in who Jesus said He was. Did Jesus save him from the cross? No, he didn't save him from death. Then what good is faith if it won't save your life? Well...actually, there are still a lot of people who think it does.

as a matter of fact, Christ did save his life... he saved him spiritually, because Christ then said int he next passage, "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise."

and faith does save lives... I'm living proof of that.

This is one of the cases where the line between government intrusion and the welfare of kids can get really blurred.

It's really weird hearing (rather, reading) you go on about god and spirituality, considering we frequent the same pornography forum.

I don't think anyone's saying that, really.

The Israelites, led out of Egypt, out of slavery, they saw signs. Did they hold true to their faith?

Now, are we talking contextually, or historically? 'Cause if it's the latter, I can tell you we've got no proof, archaeological or otherwise, that any of that happened.

The people living in Jerusalem at the time of Jesus, watching Him heal those who were sick, and ressurect a man from the dead. Did they believe in Him?

Well, contextually, you'd have to look at it from a point of view suited to that time and place - there were hundreds of people, running around, performing miracles, and claiming to be the 'messiah.' This "Jayzus fella' could have very well been of the same ilk.
Historically, see above. While there is some historical basis for Jesus, namely the Rabbi ben Yeshua, most of that's fiction.

The theif next to Jesus, taunting Him, saying - "If you are who you say you are, then save me. Show me a sign. Show me a miracle. SHOW me something. Otherwise, you're not real. You do no good for me."

Which, come on, makes sense. He's hanging up by his hands and feet, bleeding to death, and next to him is this man called "Yeshua," whom people are calling the Messiah. The man's in pain, and if you can't see that it makes sense that he'd ask Jesus to GET HIM OFF THAT EFFING CROSS, then, well -

And then there was the other man hanging next to him, who was on his own cross, for his own punishment. He took a leap of faith, and he believed in who Jesus said He was. Did Jesus save him from the cross? No, he didn't save him from death.

:pal:

Sorry, dude, but you phrased that perfectly.

Then what good is faith if it won't save your life? Well...actually, there are still a lot of people who think it does.

So, you're in full support of them letting their girl die when treatment was a still viable option, you're saying?

:oldrazz: ummm.....I think you might have me confused with someone else?

No.

What was that other prophets name? Apollodeus or something like that.
He seems cooler. :csad:
