Hi,

I am curious as to what singers superherohype forum visitors think are overrated. This is a debatable topic. Overrated means that the singer is not as good as the general public think they are. Some singers cannot be overrated since most people know they suck. For example, Rebecca Black cannot be overrated since everyone except for her fans think she sucks. Likewise Bieber cannot be overrated. I want some real overrated singers. Please give good examples and reasons why they are overrated. Your opinions won't be critiqued by me since I respect them.

I'm going to get killed for this, perhaps literally, but I'm going to start with a bold shot in the dark:

Frank Sinatra.

I like me some Frank, don't get me wrong, but much of the reason he was so beloved was due to his public profile, swagger and personality, and the popularity of his acting and other endeavours bleeding into perceptions of him as a musical artist. In terms of being a pure singer, even within the smooth lounge/jazz/crooner genre, there were so many singers that were much better: Mel Torme, Johnny Mathis, Nat King Cole, Andy Williams, Bobby Darrin, Dick Powell, to name a few. That Frankie is kind of the king of all these guys is undeserved, in my opinion.

I agree. There was a poster years ago who was obsessed and we argued a lot because he thought Sinatra was THE best singer of all time and I was not having it...

Freaking Krewella man, I get sick of their crap music that all the dumb EDM kids eat up. So many better vocalist out there in the dance world
